Jesus is the Head of the Body of Christ. Is it not of people such as you and I that His Body is to consist? The connection between the parts and the Head is the Holy Spirit or the Blood which also nourishes the Body! Without the Holy Spirit or the Blood, we are dead! The Life is in the Blood!

To Peter, yes, and to many others after him, not only apostles, to whom it had been shut the way to the Tree of Life opened to overcomers. Did Peter overcome? It would seem likely, but many who were not apostles would be overcomers!

"He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God" Rev 2:7

Overcoming the world may be accomplished by anyone who yields to the Holy Spirit until all obstacles hindering the way to God and that Tree of Life are gone.

Jesus left Peter with the keys...
In the O.T. keys were a symbol of authority....

Morality cannot be legislated.
It's very dangerous when a government can decide who is immoral and be punished for it. We might be next...

God loves all of His creation and only He can truly judge....we don't know man's heart.
