You will be sorry you said that, because I will remember that when you quote other scriptures. Truth and knowledge bounces off of your armor of ignorance like bullets.

    Friend, you seem to be ignorant of the term, let me give you a hint;
In religion and mythology, anthropomorphism is the perception of a divine being or beings in human form, or the recognition of human qualities in these beings.

God does not change. He does not need to.God does not repent , He does not need to.

Sounds like more ignorance and rejection of reality. Pick and choose what you want for a twist to your religion.

    Perfection as defined by men.

    1. There is no one on this planet that can comprehend the perfection of God.

    2. It would be audacious of us to take our errant and limit understanding of perfection and apply them to God.

    3. We do not have the authority to judge God’s actions as a mistake. In this case it appears to us to be a clear mistake, the problem is, what we see clearly is not all that is seen by God.

    4. The scripture in question does not say that God made a mistake, it says He was sorry He made Man. And it falls
into the context of what was happening….as in things were not going well.

You do not want to play the high and mighty card with God. I say God is perfect …whatever that is. But still we have God saying He was sorry He made Man. And Christ saying that you have to hate your father and mother to be His disciple. In Hebrews there is a discussion about the Old Covenant being faulty and the need to replace it. So whatever the explanation is, it is of God and it is perfect….In this context God was sorry He made Man.

Tell you something else, sooner or later I am going to misquote something or quote something out of context, when that happens I will be man enough to admit I made a mistake.

You do not understand this word, and scripture. When you demonstrate you are serious about it then we can interact. You calling names does not do anything.

Lol, of course, you are;););) Only no other Calvinist has ever seen you answer and offer correction to a non cal.
You have kept it a secret for 10 years, lol...that is wonderful

We had accused JonC of being a troublemaker, lying about his conduct and claiming he was a Calvinist.

    Now he has been exposed...in His own words; Today;

I’m not sure all of the conversation here, but it seems to be comments I made from different places pulled out of context and strung together.

To clarify for the board (and guests):

On another forum the staff (minus me) and every contributing member to the decision decided that “Calvinism” was to mean an affirmation of “TULIP” regardless of how they were held. This made me a “Calvinist”. It reaffirmed N.T. Wright, Jonathan Edwards and Karl Barth as “Calvinists”, and even clarified that the late Norman Geisler (someone I’ve heard lecture many times) was indeed a Calvinist.

Like I said, I don't believe in Calvinism. Calvinism is not my religion nor is it my gospel. I believe in Christ and His gospel. My argument was that my view God was never wrathful towards Christ meant I could not be labeled as such. I often used “Calvinistic”. But as that was a Baptist board I accepted their labels.

I carried them here due to oversight, partly because at least one of the voices who affirmed that I was a Calvinist based on that standard are heard on this thread. But mostly due to oversight. I should have left the labels at the door (habits die hard).

This is a much broader forum and hopefully there are some genuine Calvinists (Presbyterians) who can contribute to future discussions as well as the neo-Calvinists we often hear.

One of the tenets of Christianity is forgiveness....
The battling scriptures thing does not address the application of Christianity.
People can change and I have seen it.
This Christian journey of ours is about growth. We learn and hopefully for the better...wiser.
We are in good company, a close read of ministry of the Apostle Paul shows he was an evolving Christian...still learning.
Once you shut your mind, your Spiritual growth is shut too.
So I for one don't care what you did or what you said in the past.

I just wanted my position to be a bit clearer. I did not consider the fact this was a different forum so "Calvinism" does not (IM>HO :D) accurately represent my view (although I said it did).

Stalkers don't bother me. I learned long ago people can take words out of context and make them say anything. I don't get the point of it, but to each his own. Probably my only virtue is integrity occupational hazard :) ), but if I don't watch myself I can be more honest than kind. I'm working on the kind part ... which is why I try my best to ignore stalkers.

    It is a bit smelly.

Calvin and Arminius have been long dead. The One I follow is alive and well. :)

It has been claimed that Pink's reputation was a product of the Banner of Truth biography rather than reality. Many considered him an "English nutter" and not "worthy of his calling". Some have contributed his later reputation to be a result of depression.

But this does not change the fact that God used Pink for His glory. There are other Calvinists (Charles Finney, John Darby, John Gill, etc) who may have issues but God used them. God used John Wesley. God used A.W. Tozer (one of my favorites who by all accounts neglected his family).

The common element is God. Perhaps this is true of these theologies as well. They may not be correct (all cannot be correct, none may be).But these things are not the gospel. Perhaps God uses them nonetheless for His glory.

No. It is never a good idea to assume :) .

I do not know @lforrest , I just agree that the verse applies - why argue about how much one follows John Calvin when we shoukd be following Christ? I do not know any of the admins.

I don't know what you mean by "scammer". Is/ was that a member here (if so, that is not me).
