We had accused JonC of being a troublemaker, lying about his conduct and claiming he was a Calvinist....Now he has been exposed...in His own words; Today;...I do not believe Calvinism at all
I’m not sure all of the conversation here, but it seems to be comments I made from different places pulled out of context and strung together.
To clarify for the board (and guests):
On another forum the staff (minus me) and every contributing member to the decision decided that “Calvinism” was to mean an affirmation of “TULIP” regardless of how they were held. This made me a “Calvinist”. It reaffirmed N.T. Wright, Jonathan Edwards and Karl Barth as “Calvinists”, and even clarified that the late Norman Geisler (someone I’ve heard lecture many times) was indeed a Calvinist.
Like I said, I don't believe in Calvinism. Calvinism is not my religion nor is it my gospel. I believe in Christ and His gospel. My argument was that my view God was never wrathful towards Christ meant I could not be labeled as such. I often used “Calvinistic”. But as that was a Baptist board I accepted their labels.
I carried them here due to oversight, partly because at least one of the voices who affirmed that I was a Calvinist based on that standard are heard on this thread. But mostly due to oversight. I should have left the labels at the door (habits die hard).
This is a much broader forum and hopefully there are some genuine Calvinists (Presbyterians) who can contribute to future discussions as well as the neo-Calvinists we often hear.
