I consider this is too generalised a statement. Please examine the qualifications of those in the creation ministry in Australia: https://creation.com/about-us#who_we_are

These scientists are not closed-minded to science, but they critique science through the lens of a biblical worldview.
interesting, never heard of them!

not arguing the point specifically, but we share thousands of common bonds/ancestors with the other species of the earth in our gut and skin flora, and this pov of "separate" helps to justify wiping them all out, which we have pretty much accomplished now, in the first world.

i don't expect to sway you from this pov of "uniqueness," but most of the DNA you possess is not even your own; and of course there is no class on taking care of your skin flora in HS, right, most ppl are barely aware they have any different species living in their gut.

a point being that this "uniqueness" thing can and will be used to keep ppl ignorant, and just sets one up to more readily accept Duality, us v them, you against the world, like that.

Antibacterial soap would be a natural outpouring of this particular evil spirit; antibiotics too, and etc. Antibiotics are a death sentence, essentially, they are like begging for Crohn's
I guess I see our uniqueness in the truth that God placed us in the role above the rest of creation - so although I agree about the similarities in some of our dna , I equally believe that the human race is different in many other ways to the rest of creation. Although I am open to hear what others say I doubt my views will be swayed xx

hey, i am inclined to agree, but nonetheless observe that pretty much every "difference" that was accepted when i was a child has gone down in flames. The point here being perhaps to recognize that we are so unique it is killing us, or that our "uniqueness" can be used against us, something like that. We're so unique that we enjoy cock-fights, and football games too iow

Evolution has been taught in schools for decades. I know that when I was in elementary school, the fifth grade, we were taught that man evolved from lower life forms. The teacher told us to write a paper on this in favor of evolution and I chose instead to write about the creation in Genesis. I received an F on that paper and so did one other person who was a friend of mine. We both refused to change our papers to write about evolution and it didn't go well for us. I still stand by what I wrote. Man did not evolve from lower life forms.

It's my opinion that a person cannot claim Biblical Christianity
and at the same time believe in paganistic evolution,
and there is no other type of evolution but that which is paganistic.
Francis Collins is a pagan? How so? What's evolution to do with paganism?

Throughout history Christians have held notions of "accomodation", i.e. that the Bible reveals Divine Truth on a level that can be expressed and understood by the text's original authors and audiences. But you think Creationism is the only Biblical Christianity? Because it (mis)treats the Bible as if it were a science book rather than seeing the opening chapters of Genesis for what they are: a bold theological proclamation made on the historical background of Babylonian captivity using the known imagery of its place and time , but giving it a very special new twist?

"Can a person be a Christian and also believe in evolution?"

Yes - if they believe that God used evolution as a mechanism of creation. Many Christians do.

So what? Lots of things that aren't mentioned in Scripture are real. America, kangaroos, bacteria, black holes...
The thing is... both what is true and what is not true are manifest...just as the both the wheat and the tares come forth.

That is the nature of the world. However, that is not the nature of God...and untruth does not inherit the kingdom. By this means God divides the light from the darkness, daily. "A man’s heart plans his way, But the Lord directs his steps." But rooting for the dark side can't be good.

Yes, sin intertwined with that uniqueness is deadly at times - and what about nature itself, so cruel and beautiful at the same time.

Amen I agree.
I believe deep down God hid something within us allowing us to 'know' the truth, if we allow it to be uncovered. I think as children what is called the conscience = inner feeling...Voice...Has always been in play...I believe God guides us if we would but listen to the nudge.
So in one way man has no excuse for the silly idea's that they allow to run through their minds and seduce our thoughts...we can almost say that it is 'by choice'....because ever man has a conscience. We are without excuse.
Not many listen to their conscience any more ...it has become hardened.
....hummm...TV? Life?
I think we 'hear' the voice much easier when children. Pity that we don't always follow it...

Man did not evolve from lower life forms.
i'd like to point out that that may be functionally irrelevant tho, not even the right frame to perceive the concept from, when you can accept that "you" are an amalgam of about 1500 different "lower life forms" right now. A Crohn's gut may have as few as about 500 other species, at the critical/death stage. And we are not even considering the various mitochondrial DNA in each of "your" cells, those are technically "lower life forms" too.

Iow regardless of how we got the body that we have today, a perspective of it as "unique" can be used against you, to ignore all those other parts, that need attn if we are to stay healthy. Iow i suggest that this is how such heresies as "it's ok to take antibiotics" get perpetrated, all with the best of intentions, upon other believers.

I don't think it's irrelevant to believe that God created man and that man did not evolve from lower life forms. My ancestors weren't lower life forms. So I stand by what I said then and now.

well, as i attempted to relate, i'm not sure that that frame is the best perspective to even reflect from; we end up debating something we cannot prove, and overlooking that we are composed of many lower life forms, all an intrinsic part of "us."

it ends up being a "heliocentric v geocentric" argument in a different dress, iow

Evolution does exist that's a fact, the point is that man never evolved from Apes at all.

Evolution is peddled by Satanist for their own ends, this claim of people are just nothing more than as just like treating people just like cattle, it is what the Socialist peddle, your dog is one of the family now etc etc this is peddled nowadays old dog or the cat gets dealt with like a human and gets a Cross set above the grave, even now you can get married to your dog etc and if anyone bags such then you can be fined by the Political Correct Nazis that are strutting about the place nowadays dictating their Satanic filth must be obeyed to the Letter of the Law.
It's the thin edge of the wedge to turn everything upside down, it's a work to lower the statist, every one must become equal and that's the way everyone becomes the lowest denominator, it's a work in progress to over power everyone and if your value is nothing but that of a cat dog mouse you will dealt with like one.
Was Holy Moses Equal to everyone else ? was Jesus ? were the prophets ? I have never met a person who was equal to anyone in my life.
I have got this rubbish peddled to me from uni educated dupes that they believe that they are more evolved that their mum or dad, that's total BS, but the same type of trash just wrapped up with a different bow that Hitler was peddling.
I have it said to me that they claim their autistic kid is just another stage forward in the evolution.

No Humans have evolved at all in 4000 years.

Animals left to themselves degrade not improve. Livestock is bred to improve qualities. Left to themselves cattle, horses etc all begin to fail in quality.

God made animals after their own kind. Not one to become another.

Genesis 1:25 KJVS
And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

Never understood why men find it impossible to believe the creation account as it is written. Everything written in the Bible it seems is brought to trial and questioned. Where is the faith in that?

God is near in these things and considers the lacks of faith in the basic matters in the Bible.

Deuteronomy 6:16 NASB
"You shall not put the LORD your God to the test, as you tested Him at Massah.

I believe it as written and seek Him on other matters.

Hebrews 3:19 KJVS
So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.

Hebrews 5:12 KJVS
For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat..

True, but certain things you need to believe in order to be saved.
I agree "evolution" or "non-evolution" is not one of them.

As far as the flat earth is concerned I can prove that to you. Haha.
How do I get photos out of my Iphoto onto this forum? ......I will show you.... :)

Certain things someone needs to believe to be saved.

- If they confess with their mouth Jesus is Lord and believe in Jesus Christ and what he did on that cross and the resurrection, then they are saved. If someone believes that he did one, but not the other, then they aren't truly saved and they don't truly believe in Jesus. If you believe the words in red, the words Jesus said, and acknowledge that it's truth, then you can be sure you are saved.

But....

A view or a stance on evolution, whether you agree with it or disagree is not required for Salvation and will not send someone to hell, but it can mess up minds by mixing up man's ideologies with Biblical truths, so while God gave people a brain, do not listen to and agree with every single thing just because that's what some *expert* says. Even though the belief of evolution itself will not send a Christian to hell, the Devil can use philosophy as a tool to draw people away from the truth of Jesus Christ, and sadly some to the point of no longer believing in Jesus...

So put God's word above man's word, and keep watch and pray.

"Can a Christian also believe in evolution."

In my experience Christians seem to believe many things...some..many 'strange' things!! :D

So my answer is a definite yes. They chose what they believe...it does not nullify their salvation. It wont earn them many 'brownie points'...but, why not, be my guest, you will find out that you are wrong...later ! :)

That's funny...or sad, but it does make me smile :)

The thing is though, as a society we have taken the whole "Question Authority" thing too far. We question even the word of God - which is not good or even good to condone. Which is too bad, 'cause we should question the authority of men. Not that I believe that you are doing otherwise, I don't, I think you make it pretty clear that you believe God and yet are just not going to make a big deal out of stuff that doesn't need to divide us. I agree...but I do think we are best to side with and promote the truth from God.

God wants us to be wise. The creation story in Genesis is a lot like evolution claims. First God creates light, the big bang, let there be light. Then he separates light from dark, day and night, and then he creates the atmosphere, separates the sky and water, brings forth dry land, creates the planets, the lights in the sky. Then life in the sea, birds, animals, plants, and finally man.

I watch nature TV and science educational tv and learn a lot. There is political evil influences. Republican right wing politicians and religious leaders come up with outrageous lies, they lie about scientific discoveries, they want to destroy the earth because of their own greed. Planet Earth is being destroyed, it is suffering and dying. Where are we suppose to live while waiting for the rapture if we destroy the earth? Big oil and gas companies pollute all they want, Evil Trump has taken away several environmental protection laws, he put a nature hater in charge of the environmental protection agency!

About evolution, it is somewhat real, I mean obviously if they leave God out of it that's wrong, but there is micro evolution, like how butterflies go from being caterpillars to in a cocoon to butterflies, a lot of insects micro evolve.

There is Godly, spiritual evolution, God takes us from being a badly behaving monkey sinner and teaches us to be decent kind and loving human beings, then he takes to be spiritual beings, simlar to faithful angels. We may never be angels, not even after we die, because angels are created angels, people are created people, but become beautiful heavenly spirits.

I would like to thank a lot of you here, because you helped me to control my temper, when i was about to get really angry. I don't go to church anymore, mainly because I can't drive, and my parents won't take me. my dad does not like churches anymore because of fundamentalist right wing republican hypocrites. he is angry with hypocrites and won't go back to church. Sometimes I get angry when people sound like they are more like a pharisee than a Christian. Ignorance is ignorance no matter if you use the Bible as a excuse claiming to be a Christian or if you are a scientist denying anything spiritual or divine. I certainly did not evolve from an ape. But I think dogs did evolve and become tame from wolves, wolves teamed up with prehistoric hunters descended from Adam and Eve to get more meat out of the hunt, they lived together in caves and learned to trust each other, dogs are called "man's best friend," and right now there are so many different breeds and designer breeds, there are the little yippy ones women like, all kinds of sizes, shapes and colors. I love dogs, they're so cute!

I agree, 2 tim. "I am not ashamed: for I know Whom I have believed, and am persuaded that He is able to keep that which I have committed unto Him against that Day." :)

But, I will not divide a relationship with another Christian who has some strange beliefs ...I have some nutty Christian friends. I always laugh and tell them that I think they are totally nuts. One of them is so 'far out' you wouldn't believe.. :)

Yet when talking about the things of the Lord...we have good fellowship.
It's just the " other stuff" that to me , doesn't really matter at all.

I am sure that the hard nose-ers on here would disagree, stating that in all cases we MUST get everything 'right.' ( and obviously 'right' to them means whatever they deem to be right.)
But, as you say...I am one who maintains that it is firstly and lastly the HEART, that must be 'right.'
I hate saying this, but I find it is the hard-nosed, legalistic, Christians that I find are the ones that have the hardest hearts and are more unpleasant....not the whack-o's .

Bless you..H
