I was reading at the library today and in a magazine it said that satan can read our minds and make us to terible things. I dont think I believe that but I am not sure what bible verses say it so.

Can Satan read our thoughts ... our minds?
The answer may not be as straightforward as you would like ... nonetheless, here it is:
Satan behaves and functions through faith.
Does that surprise you?
Well, it shouldn't.
Even God Himself functions and behaves entirely in/through faith.
And, as His followers, we too function in/'through faith.
The short answer is: The devil has absolutely no faith in promises or inspiring thoughts of God ... whether they be clearly visible in the zillions of printed Bibles he's seen and doubtless read ... or bouncing around in your head/.mind. These are all utter nonsense to the devil.
The long answer is below:.
When God looked over his work after the period of creation, lie spoke that it was good, very good indeed, especially the king and crown of His creation, mankind. God created man in order to have fellowship with his spirit and to prepare for Himself a dwelling place in whom He would be able to reveal Himself also in tangible form. When the apostle John describes the future of mankind in whom the Creator takes up residence, lie prophecies: "Behold, the tabernacle of God is among men, and he shall dwell among them and they shall be his people and God himself shall be among them.", Rev 21:3).
In the beginning, when things went wrong as a result of the 'fall of man', God did not panic or loose His faith and trust in man. Even though man is infringed upon, maimed, humiliated and oppressed under the regime of the devil, he still has the ability within him to recuperate and he remains as a partner for God. Has He not created the inborn means towards renewal and restoration? That this inborn quality is part of God becomes evident when we read that the Lamb of God "was slain before the foundation of the world" in order to assist those who believe in healing and restoring.
Satan and his angels also have faith, not towards God's plan, but they believe in themselves and in their destroying and demolishing work. Satan believes most emphatically that nothing good will become of man. He does not trust in man at all, but has completely written him off as future ruler and king over the works of God's hand. For this reason, there is a tremendous battle between God and the devil, a battle of faith concerning man. In this battle, it is spirit against spirit and positive faith against negative faith.
The devil attacks God on His faith in man, inducing a battle because the enemy does not want man to sit some day on God's throne. He does not want man to be elevated and exalted above all creatures and especially above all powers and principalities in the heavenly places (unseen world).
The origin of the devil's enmity against man lies in his desire to have the place, which God meant for man, for himself. Already in the Old Testament we read that God had an unlimited trust in his servant Job. He confessed that there was no one on earth who was so blameless and upright and who despised doing evil so much as Job. Satan put his unbelief over and against this positive belief and said: "Just allow him to fall into difficulties, then you will see how quickly he lets go of You." The devil wants to make God's faith ineffective and put it to shame. He is always busy trying it and for that reason he is called the "accuser of the brethren."
God, however, has great faith in man. Already, at the 'fall of man', this trust became evident when He spoke to the serpent in Genesis 3:15 : "And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her seed; He shall crush you on the head and you shall bruise his heel."
God has never doubted the fulfillment of this statement. The head of the serpent, depicting evil inspirations, will be shattered by man. The apostle Paul wrote encouraging words when he said: "And the God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet." (Rom 16:20).
The devil, though, has for ages been a heel biter. He makes man's path of development difficult and stagnant at times. It seems that the enemy is gaining, but ultimately the faith God has in man will triumph. God favors man, and God believes in man.
The earth inhabited by man will never disappear. Our planet will not blow up, but it will always keep functioning. Isaiah 45:18 says: "He is the God who formed the earth and made it. He established it and did not create it a waste place, but formed it to be inhabited." God's faith truly manifests itself when He entrusts His restoration plan, which includes "all things" to the man Jesus Christ. The faith that God has in His creation, Jesus has taken from Him, because He thought and spoke like His heavenly Father. Jesus received everything from God so as to be one with Him, and therefore He acquired His full wisdom, power, and His faith. He is even called the Author and Perfecter of faith. That is why He is also called "the Word of God", because He gave expression to God's thoughts.
Jesus believed with so much certainty in the coming glory of man that He "for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God." (Hebrews 12:2). In heavy circumstances, in "the hour of darkness", He confessed before the High Priest, Caiaphas, His unmoving faith in the victory of man: "I say to you, from now on you will see the Son of man seated at the right hand of Power, and coming on the clouds of heaven", which means to say, coming with the congregation whose high position is compared to clouds.
Because of His faith in an upcoming restoration, Jesus gave Himself as a ransom for all people, of all places and all times, and this ransom consisted of His perfect life. Man had become under the slavery of Satan because of sin. He lived under the occupation of the domain of darkness, or after he passed away, his spirit dwelled in the realm of death. All had become useless in being able to share the throne with God and all had become worthless for their heavenly calling. And yet the heavenly Father kept his faith in man. He did not roughly pull them out from under the enemy's yoke because He is righteous and hates force. God presented an offer to the devil. He provided Himself (to use an image) with a burnt offering which He would give over to the fire, or to the evil spirits represented by it, Genesis 22:8. In the visible world, God gave over His Son into the hands of murderers and in the unseen world to the evil spirits in order to buy the whole of mankind back. One complete and perfect man was exchanged for all the dirtied, maimed and beaten humanity, one beautiful gold piece for many dirty pennies. Therefore, in the prayers of the saints we hear the new song: "Worthy art Thou to take the book, and to break its seals, for Thou wast slain, and didst purchase for God with Thy blood men from every tribe and tongue and people and nation.", Rev. 5:9.
The devil believed that Jesus would succumb on the cross during the stormy attack of the demons. God had taken away the Holy Spirit from His Son so that He was forsaken by God. Only the man of Jesus hung there. At that time our Lord was in the same position as Adam before He fell, though His situation was much more difficult. But Jesus had within His inner man God's faith in man. That is why He could pray for His enemies because they did not know that they were incited by evil spirits. Because of His faith, Jesus conquered and that is why He could keep standing until death, even death on the cross. The devil's unbelief in man was put to shame.
After Jesus had fought the battle and "finished" everything, He descended, again united with the Holy Spirit, into the realm of the dead as a conqueror. All the people, of all places, of all ages can from now on be saved to the utmost by believing and having faith in God's plan of restoration.

yes he can...I say this, after working 20 plus years in the Deliverance Ministry [casting out demons]. I have encountered a number of cases where evil spirits have entered a persons room while they were in partial sleep state. They, being aware of the spirits presence, were unable to speak out and command them to leave in Jesus name, due to paralysis. I suggested that they command the spirits to leave using their mind since they were unable to speak out physically. The results have been that these evil parasites will flee just as quickly at the name of Jesus, when you command them using your mind/ thoughts, just as they would flee, when speaking directly to them, in Jesus name. :)

By the way I was at bible College and one afternoon I came in for a short nap. During this time as I was awakening a demon latch upon my throat as it were and threatened me and proceeded to choke me at least psychologically. What I did was call unto the LORD JESUS for help and no sooner had I began to call unto him this demons grip was instantly released and I became fully conscious and was composed. This is but one of the demonic attacks I experienced whilst at college.
I am a Christian and it doesn't matter if you don't believe me. I don't actually care... :)

Cause he's the one that injects the temptations into our minds in the first place. Also, he is an expert of body language. If there can be human being experts on body language who are limited to 80 years or so of life, then satan who has been around MUCH longer is certainly extremely capable of knowing what we are thinking through body language. I disagree. IMO... If Satan can put thoughts INTO our minds then he has access. It does him no good to tempt us with something that is of no interest to us or that is not within the realm of a weakness for us.
Bottom line, though....It really doesn't matter to someone whose mind is stayed on God.

He is a fallen angelic being and he has an army behind him far greater than we understand. Demons are lower than Satan yet they can apparently mimic your beloved departed family members trying to deceive you....
