Coptics and Orthodox lay claim to the same idea of being FIRST; honestly, it reminds me of the disciples grumbling and arguing about would was first among their group
Not at all - you simply cannot argue with History.
There are Baptists who ALSO claim they were here first. History, however, tells us a different story.

NEVER was the Church ever referred to as the the "Orthodox Church" before the East-West schism.
It was called "The Catholic Church" prior to the end of the first century while the Apostle John was STILL alive.

Coptic merely refers to the REGION where that particular Body dwelt. The Church was in MANY places, including Ephesus and Jerusalem and Egypt and Antioch - to name a few of them.

I suggest that you ALL study history a little closer before making some of the historically-bankrupt claims you're making . . .

Doctrine at the expense of love? No thanks.

Jesus didn't ask people "Who do you say I am?", in order to bait them or punish them. He was starting a relationship.....

I do not see you starting a relationship here.....just an observation
That's okay - as long as there are visitors here who aren't being sucked in by the lies.
If the truth offends you - maybe you shouldn't call yourself a Christian . . .

Found this translation.

English
1. Daystar of the morning its flame: man, I say, O Lucifer, who does not know the going down thereof. Christ, the Son of yours, which, went back from the grave, his peaceful light on all mankind, and lives and reigns for ever and ever.
Flammas eius lúcifer matutínus invéniat: ille, inquam, Lúcifer, qui nescit occásum. Christus Fílius… Translated to English

I don't know anything about this specific quote and I'm not a Latin scholar but as a polyglot who translated for the military for 20 years, I know a bad translation when I see one.
Lucifer--when it is not a name--is a function: bearer of light. (Lux=light, fer=carry)
Think "aquifer" or "conifer", and "translucent" or "elucidate".

So, taking the context into consideration, the proper translation is that the virgin mother who bore the Christ is the bearer of light (of the world).

[QUOTE="Job, post: 308251, member: 6156"And you have to remember that it's the doctrine you're scrutinizing, not the people. The people belonging to this denomination are being lied to.
b[/QUOTE]

Nothing galls me more than this. It is so insulting. The assumption seems to be that I'm so stupid that I think a picture is going to talk to God for me. Or a medal around my neck is going to keep me safe. Or mindlessly repeating words on a string of beads is going to save me. Or that I would belong to a church whose hierarchy was so corrupt that they would knowingly pedal this nonsense to unsuspecting, ignorant, unwashed masses of stupid idiots. Job, isn't it even a remote possibility that sane, healthy, intelligent people could actually know all about the Church and eagerly join it because they believe that it is actually what it claims to be? The Mystical Body of Christ that continues His ministry to all nations and all ages until He comes back. I hope you don't believe what you seem to be implying by your statement.

t's absolutely true. Everything Jesus said is true because He IS truth itself (John 14:6).
Cool thats a start

His Church is the pillar and foundation of that truth (1 Tim. 3:15)

I never thought I would hear that from you, that His church is the pillar and foundation of teh truth and not your church(religion) or any mans church(religion). You did suprise me there.

As for this bit

NOT the individual . . .

Sorry teh bible disagrees with you.

Php_2:12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

No one can help you with it.

I destroyed this Job's nonsense back in post #204.
Here is the translation of this prayer:

ENGLISH:
May this flame be found still burning
by the Morning Star:
the one Morning Star who never sets,
Christ your Son,
who, coming back from death's domain,
has shed his peaceful light on humanity,
and lives and reigns for ever and ever.

Why are you surprised??
The Catholic Church has ALWAYS been the pillar and foundation of truth (1 Tim3:15).

As usual - you can't follow the conversation.
This has absolutely NOTHING to do with what we were talking about.

I said that the CHURCH is the pillar and foundation of truth (1 Tim. 3:15) - NOT the individual.
NOWHERE in ALL of Scripture are individuals Christians given this title - only the Church.

Remember - ignorance of Scripture is ignorance of Christ (St. Jerome).

People have already confessed to doing that....on this site.
And this is yet another one of your LONG list of lies.
Not ONE single person has stated that we think a picture is going to "talk" to God for us.

Don't you ever tire of being exposed and proven wrong??

Everyone who saw the quotes I posted knows this isn't true.
Point me to the Post# where a Catholic on this forum admitted to asking a picture to "talk" to God for them.

If you can't do that - then consider yourself exposed again for being dishonest . . .

Don't you ever tire of using the word "exposed"? I mean what have you exposed......really? Nothing, other than your penchant for the word exposed.
I've exposed every one of your lies and falsehoods.
If you don't like being exposed - then start telling the truth . . .

prolly best to recognize that you are speaking to our posterity here, and not really even replying to a single person per se. Any post you make might be found in search ten years from now even, by someone seeking the answer you give.
It's really quite simple: If you don't like me exposing anti-Catholic falsehoods - then don't post any.

It's not that complicated . . .

I gave you 3 examples. I'm not responsible for your inability to follow a link.

Yeah I know, I'm exposed.

Care to show me where you posted these "examples" - or are we simply going to engage in this game of charades because you have no evidence??
