Holy Ghost or not, God won't prevent the consequences you will suffer as the result of your free will choice to countenance the wicked thing.

Bottom line: Virtually no one has sincerely submitted his desire to possess a cell phone firstly and foremostly to God and then patiently waited for his answer.

I did, and the Lord has no problem with it as long as it's not made in to an idol. Lots of things like this are fine to use but anything can be made in to an idol and idolatry is sinful behavior and is one of the things on God's list of "those that do these things shall not inherit the Kingdom"

I'm old school. I just talk on the thing and rarely text and half the time I have mine set on submarine mode or whatever they call it when the cell phone is taken off line so to speak where it cannot connect to cell towers.

Those with a weak conscience (still in diapers) who feel like having a cell phone would get in the way of their relationship with the Lord should definitely not have one since it apparently will cause them to backslide and fall away from the Lord.

They probably scared that they will start watching porn on the thing are bust out in to some other sinful behavior related to having / using a cell phone. These are the folks falsely taught that God put sin in them when He formed them in their mother's womb believing they were born sinners and as such they just have to sin in word and deed daily as they believe they can never ever stop sinning

I've heard all the varied and colorful excuses before. The Lord plainly states that he will give you the answer you've already decided you want!

It may be wise to double-check. What you're hearing from God may not be what I'm hearing from God.
