?? You really thinks this is true ??
(if there is time, and if permitted, somewhere, it can be and will be revealed far from it is true)

    @Joseph77
Yes, in a sense to some people my question would be what they call rhetorical not really needing or calling for an answer or maybe no one actually having an answer. Consider however...
    What did Jesus mean here?

"These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world." John 16:33

What is this "world" that Jesus says he has overcome? Not planet Earth, not society...! Jesus came as a man with a body of flesh subject to the temptations to which every one us are, or have been, subject. This is not sin. Jesus never had any sin of his own. What he had is described here:

"For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world." I John 2:16

These lusts and that pride are not sin in themselves. Every person has had them. However, when any one of them is followed it certainly leads us always to sin. Jesus never followed them. Rather he overcame them. That was the "world" that Jesus overcame, the "world" of the temptations of the man Jesus. Perhaps the price for our already committed "sins" has been paid, but until the "world" of temptations within myself is overcome will I not continue to be tempted?

Has anyone but Jesus already done that? If not then for whom is this promise?

"He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God." Rev 2:7

When a person eats of that tree, will he ever die?

"And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:
Therefore the LORD God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken.
So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life." Gen 3:22-24

Is there not a Way to connect the dots between those verses and this one?

"And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?" John 11:26

Would it not have been after Jesus overcame the world as per John 16:33 that he said this?

"And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world..." John 17:11

He was no longer subject to those temptations. He was outside of that world even though he was still a man of flesh on planet Earth! He still had to go to the cross, but no more satanic temptations trying to deceive him and cause him to sin. He had won the last personal battle. Undoubtedly the suffering and death were painful, but he was no longer even considering not drinking of the cup of that final temptation overcome here:

"And he went a little farther, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt." Matt 26:39

This is one of those supposedly impossible things Jesus asked of us:

"And they were astonished out of measure, saying among themselves, Who then can be saved?
And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible." Mark 10:26-27

We must strive, but alone, of ourselves, we cannot win in the end. We cannot overcome as Jesus overcame... but then.. consider who is in us fighting on our side!

"To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:" Col 1:27

It seems very unusual for you to post this error.

What error was that? Admitting that every person is attracted to things which if pursued lead to sin?

I can look at a pretty girl without sinning... but if I let my thoughts dwell on that girl too much or too deeply in the wrong manner then what Jesus said comes to mind.

"But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart." Matt 5:28

The attraction is there before it becomes sin.

"Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death." James 1:15

My boss always says never to do "tech speak" that you have illustrated much better than me. I am a tutor and if a student comes to me and all I do is tech speak they'll go away more confused then when they came for help. Tech speak is nice for people who know what we are talking about but as you said not for people who don't speak or think that way.

To bring this post back to the OP when new people join the forum and all we do is tech speak they will soon be gone.

A tit for tat response on your part.

I do not claim to be the better person. But I do know when a snow jobs is being done.

What is on display when you post? @Helen made some suggestions that your style of posting was not effective.

I know that I offend some people. I also know that some people like what I post. The rest of the members are often off in their own world of fantasy and cannot understand what it is that they are posting, as far as I am concerned.

I find that it is best to leave those members alone and not poke the bear.

Sadly you are often too much to bare :(

The alternative is cease to ask questions.

I think the lemming doctrine is going away with the information age.

My motto is it is better to debate an idea without settling it than to settle it without debating it.

Ideas should be put to the test in secular AND religious ideas.

The Lord made sure of that by putting a committee of men over the church to teach doctrines in Acts.

    I like this scripture:
    1 Peter 3 (KJV)
    ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
¹⁵ But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:
¹⁶ Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ.

    That's not written anywhere.

The men who were or are supposed to be obeying God,
    were and are corrupted
and the doctrines all and each must be tested before ever being accepted because so many doctrines , in toto, from rome are and have always been corrupted.

Wait, Jesus entrusted 12 with the gospel to preach, not doing it Himself as per Acts on....

Then they(per Jesus) set up a 5 fold ministry including elders.

Buncha folks there to weed out false teachers.

This eliminated a one man's religion.

Joseph, usually when someone quotes a scripture reference on here, it's a link, it links you to the Bible, if you click on it, it takes you to the ASV Bible translation, yes we have an online Bible in this site.

Did you read my posts about this at all ? Without understanding ?

If you do not post the text (with or without the link), I do not see it, and many on cell phones (and perhaps many computers too/ especially some browsers for security reasons) around the world also.

He told them the Holy Ghost(per Acts 2) would teach them everything, so it did.

That is how we finally ended up with the written N.T.

    No.
The Apostles WARNED the Ekklesia assembly: THERE ARE ALREADY RAVENOUS WOLVES CIRCLING THE FLOCK(S).....
and when we are gone, they will move in and tear the flock apart. (that is their intention)

And it happened, just as the APOSTLES SAID.

The enemy took power, and established the world church with constantine.

Ah well it works for me, and I use my mobile phone for Christianityboard most of the time. For example Mike Waters typed scripture references Matthew 5:48 and 1 John 1:8 both appear as links and are clickable and will take you straight to the Bible verse.

It should then look like this. Screenshot_2020-07-25-00-55-16-60.png
