Platonism conflicts with the Gospel. Remember the first Christian heresy in Scripture, that Christ was a Spirit? The Gospel teaches a real man in a regular human body walked on water, died, was raised by God to life in a glorified body and physically ascended into heaven. It teaches a soulful experience - as well as spiritual. It’s not all types and shadows.

I suppose it depends on who holds the pen?

All I know is, if it rhymes with the OT, which we are told to use , and they searched the scriptures daily, and at that time all they had was the Torah? Psalms Prophets I thin half the sect left out, maybe Sadducees, while the Pharisees included them all?

The Sadducees only regarded the Torah.

That was Jesus' wisdom to answer them from the Torah about the resurrection of the dead, citing "I am the God of your fathers, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob", then adding, God is not God of the dead but the living.
