"Ac28, post: 436106, member: 7152"]So? I'm waiting.

Dan. 12:2 And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.

Many shall arise....not all. This is the 1st resurrection. The rest are judged after the 1,000 years at the GWT judgment.

Buddha never heard about Jesus. He left his palace to live in poverty, meditation, fasting, self-discipline, and seeking knowledge, understanding and truth. He sat beneath the Bodhi Tree defiantly determined to receive understanding and vowed that he would let his flesh and bones waste away and welcome that and death but not leave that spot until he found enlightenment. He did the best with what he had.

Buddha preached non-violence, gentleness, charity, self-discipline, detachment from possessions, detachment from materialism, and worldliness, humility, meekness and many of the virtues that Jesus preached. But he didn't accept Christ because he had never heard of the man, and wasn't a Jew, so didn't know about the God of Abraham. You seriously think he went to Hell??

Jesus said
  • Blessed are the meek: for they shall possess the land.
  • Blessed are they who mourn: for they shall be comforted.
  • Blessed are they that hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall have their fill.
  • Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.
  • Blessed are the clean of heart: for they shall see God.
  • Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.
Buddha was poor in spirit, meek, he hungered and thirsted for righteousness, he was merciful, clean of heart, and a peacemaker. You seriously think he went to hell? What kind of God would be that cruel and unjust? So, if he didn't go to hell, that leaves only one option. He converted after death. If Buddha can convert after death, what makes you think Ghandi and so many other non-Christians can't?

Sister Faustina Kowalska claims she was told by Jesus that at the moment when a spirit leaves the body, there is a final illumination and spiritual awakening and the soul is given understanding and then the free option to accept or reject Christ. She said there are people who die seemingly unrepentant and non-Christian, and to the naked eye it seems all is lost, but unknownst to us, the soul goes through a final illumination, complete enlightenment, and accepts Jesus as Lord and savior.

I am 100% convinced that if Buddha met Christ they would see eye to eye. Buddha preached a lot of what Christ preached with a different choice of words and extolled many of the same virtues. I have no doubt that Buddha is in Heaven, which only leaves one option, he had a full conversion after death. If Buddha can have a conversion after death, what makes you think others can't??
I have friend who also believes the first Buddha, Siddhārtha Gautama, may well be resurrected to eternal life in heaven with Christ, not because of any supposed after-death conversion, but based on these words from Peter:
Acts 10:34-35
(34) Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:
(35) But in every nation he that fears him, and works righteousness, is accepted with him.

Buddha will experience a resurrection as will all mankind, but not to eternal life in heaven. Having never enter by the only way, the only door, which is Christ he was never begotten of the spirit, therefore never experienced a change of nature from the earthly nature to the spirit nature. Now the scriptures are quite clear on this matter assuring us that flesh and blood shall in no way inherit the kingdom of God, that is the heavenly phase of the kingdom. Therefore Buddha will take his part with the rest of mankind in the resurrection by judgement, and if following his testing he should be proven faithful at that time he will be ushered into the everlasting kingdom, the earthly phase of the kingdom and as such will be granted eternal life.

As for the text you supplied note closely that it states that God is no respecter of persons, but in every nation he that fears him (that reverences him, and thus his word, which shows Christ as the only means of approach), the only way in which any righteous works could be accepted, he it is that is accepted.

OP ->>> Conversion after Death.

No.

Conversion is an Offered Gift from God.

A Gift Offering requires a man to Accept the Gift, to Effect the man possessing the Gift.

DEAD men know nothing.

How can a dead man, who knows nothing, Accept a Gift?

God Bless,

What if a thread could be started that demonstrated from various biblical texts that postmortem conversion is a reality. Would you evne want to read and respond to such a thread?

There is no need for conversion after death...since God will save whom He wills to. That means that many will be deemed as sheep (Mat. 25) because of how they treated others...specifically the brethren.

The law of righteousness states that a person will live if they do what is right. So GOD decides this. He judges...he justifies. Not people.

I know that many here would desire to take God's place and condemn people....but God forbids this on pain of rejection from the kingdom.

...to be judged by God at the judgment. Why do you always add in your own opinion and judgment? We do have the bible. God decides our fate after death.

Heb. 9:27 And just as it is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment,

The born-again are resurrected in the first resurrection. So they are fated to the new Jerusalem without having to go through a judgment.

They are judged for rewards.

The lost are in the second resurrection at the end of time and go before the white throne judgment for punishment. But their fate in the Lake was known at death.

Metaphysical and Eastern mysticism.

No one can have conversion after death.
Hebrews 9:27-28 New International Version (NIV)
27 Just as people are destined to die once, and after that to face judgment, 28 so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him.

No one can have conversion after death.

Heb. 9:27 And just as it is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment,

Many students of God’s Word have erroneously assumed that the Apostle’s statement found in Heb 9:27 viz., “it is appointed for men to die once, but after this [to face] judgment” is in reference to the world’s judgment to come, following their death, thus many have been left to believe that death ends all probation, believing that if one does not except Christ prior to their death they are eternally damn, that their next waking thought will be the time of their judgement (krima: the final decision), however a careful examination of the context reveals the true intent of this statement, it has nothing whatsoever to do with mankind’s future judgment, but was in regards to the judgment which came upon the high priest when he entered theMost Holy’.

“Each time a priest went into the ‘Most Holy’ on the Day of Atonement he risked his life; for if his sacrifice had been imperfect in any way he would have died as he passed the ‘second veil’, he would not have been accepted into the ‘Most Holy’ himself, nor would his imperfect sacrifice have been acceptable as an atonement for the sins of the people, hence any failure meant HIS death, and the condemnation of all for whose sins he attempted to make reconciliation, [this was the judgment mentioned in Heb 9:27,28].”

Just as man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment, so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many people; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him.”

“And so the antitype was fulfilled, our Great High Priest, Christ Jesus passed under the antitypical second veil, when he died at Calvary; and had his sacrifice been in any manner or degree imperfect he would never have been raised out of death, the ‘judgment’ of justice would have gone against him. But his resurrection, on the third day proved that his work was perfectly performed, that it stood the test of the divine judgment.”

Any interpretation of this text, which [attempts to apply] it to the common death of humanity in general, is thoroughly contradicted and disposed of by the context.”

For he has set a day (a future day, a thousand year day) when he will judge (try, test) the world with justice by the man he has appointed. He has given proof of this to all men by raising him from the dead.” (Acts 17:31)

“The incense from the `Golden Altar’ having preceded him (into the ‘Most Holy’) and been satisfactory, the High Priest passed under the second `vail’ into the `Most Holy.’ So with Jesus; having for three and a half year’s offered acceptable incense in the `Holy,’ the consecrated and spirit begotten condition, he passed beyond the `Second Vail,’ death.

For three days he was under the `Vailin death; then he arose in the perfection of the divine nature beyond the flesh, beyond the vail, `the express image of the Father’s person.’ He was `put to death in the flesh, but quickened (made alive) in spirit,’ `sown a natural (human) body, raised a spiritual body.’ Thus our Lord reached the `Most Holy condition, the perfection of spirit being, at his resurrection.—1 Pet 3:18; 1 Cor 15:44.”

Well, exactly. The idea seems like Latter Day Saint erroneous teaching.

P.S.

The bible does not teach any coversion after death.
TODAY is the day of salvation.
Choose ye whom you will serve.

After death it's too late.
What IDIOT wouldn't choose Jesus after death?
I could just see th scenario.

One dies that didn't believe. He wakes up again. He sees God and God asks him..."well, do you want to go to heaven and be saved?" And the nutjob says NO, I'd rather go to hell.
LOL

The truth is also seen in these verses:

"And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent.
And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead" Luke 16:30-31
