Well from the words of Eve it is implied that she knew exactly what Adam had been told.
It sounds to me that this is more what you are inferring.

"Imply" is what the speaker does, "infer" is done by the listener.

Much love!

What we see here is that (1) Eve knew exactly what God had said, (2) yet she MODIFIED God's words because she was hankering after the forbidden fruit. How did she modify the words of God.
Well, somebody changed this, that's for certain!

There are a few possibilities.

Perhaps Eve concocted this on her own.
Perhaps Adam told her this for his own reason, maybe, because he thought she needed extra protection.
Perhaps God had told them additional instruction not included in the text, only seen in Eve's comment.
Something else.

The problem with too many Christian today is that they refuse to believe anything that is implied. They demand explicit statements, which gives them an out. If there is no explicit statement, it means that the truth does not exist. Well God will not accept such reasoning.

I see another problem also. There sometimes seems to me to be too easy of a willingness to insert our own ideas and accept them as Gospel Scripture.

No one here knows exactly, with certainy, why Eve said what she did. At least not that I can tell.

Much love!

You claimed that she did not know what God had said, and I proved that she did (by modifying the words of God).

Now you claim no one knows WHY she said what she said, and again I proved from Scripture that we do know why.
It is there in plain sight. The three lusts enticed Eve.

THIS APPLIES TO BOTH MEN AND WOMEN
But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death. (James 1:14,15)

Your claim was that Eve added the words on her own.

And I did NOT claim that Eve didn't know what God said. Nope, that wasn't me.

And how was it that you've proven this? I've missed it, I'm sorry!

Much love!
