I'm trying to find sources of clothing, shoes, etc, that are made of natural fibers and leather. Does anyone have links to share where we can find such items? I'm really alarmed at all the plastic clothing in the stores. No wonder everyone's hormones are a mess.

You can go through ThredUp and filter by material. I suggest filtering for Excellent or NWT. (Stuff I have gotten marked as good was faded. Everything else was perfect.) I also sort low to high for best deals.

This has been bothering me a lot, too, so I've switched out a few things and will continue.

I've also stuck to name brands I trust for quality and because Temu quality is out there and putting people in danger.

Also taking the time to sew pillows today with buckwheat hulls. We spend 1/3rd of our life in bed. I really feel like my body is not responding well to polyester and other synthetic fabric.

Idk why cotton clothing should cost 10 times as much as other fibers except they're taking advantage of the fact that cotton clothing, bedding, etc are getting harder and harder to find and they can make a fortune off people who are trying to be health conscious. (sigh)

What places are the biggest offenders?
Walmart is huge on passing off recycled plastic clothing as if they're something good. Tractor Supply has stuffed animals and dog toys that are made of recycled plastic. I'm sure there are many others.

I would prioritize pillow. If it is made of a synthetic fiber, we breath it 8 hours from a close distance and when we are pretty vulnerable - in sleep that is supposed to be regenerative.

Then mattress, then things like carpets, sofas, couches... and then clothes. Breathing/eating/drinking nano and micro plastics is much worse than to just have them on skin.

We wear clothes nearly 24/7 ...and whatever touches the skin goes into the blood stream. It's all important.

I don't want to turn this into a debate over what's more important. My goal is to find good resources for detoxing our surroundings and sharing the links.

:D no, skin serves as a barrier. That is the purpose of skin. Almost nothing that touches the skin goes into the blood stream, even cosmetics that is developed and designed to be absorbed by skin has a hard time to actually reach some deeper layers or skin, not to say the blood stream.

However, if you breath a microplastic or eat it, then it really is in your body and may accumulate in various tissues, including brain. And nanoplastics can even accumulate in cells, which is horrifying.

The problem with plastic fibers in clothes is not as much the direct impact, but rather the secondary impact - microplastics are released into air while wearing the clothes, into water during washing the clothes and finally into the environment after being thrown away (fast fashion).
