When Jesus died, the veil in the temple was torn from top to bottom, the temple was destroyed "Gone"

Not yet. And this time it will never be destroyed. History proves that the Cross was the end of the OT age, and that temple was destroyed and put back in 3 days, just as Jesus said. Jesus did not say the next Temple would be destroyed. He said the desolate temple, made so by the Cross, would be destroyed.

Jesus claims there will be another physical temple, this time with a throne, instead of the Holy of Holies. It will not be destroyed, but the future Temple will be surrounded by armies, and be made desolate, with an AoD. Most just want to assume Jesus was talking about 70AD, instead of facing a future event. An event that would happen only after the gospel is taking to all the ends of the earth. An event after the fulness of the Gentiles, not 40 years into the fulness of the Gentiles. The fulness of the Gentiles is still ongoing. What early church father declared that Gentiles could no longer be included in the Atonement of the Cross? That the end of the church age was over?

It was future from those people,but they knew it vs5-6...note the contrast in vs13.

Not sure you’re really getting what I’m saying.
I actually DO think it will see a future fulfilment. The NT, especially Paul and John, point to that.
I just think its also valid to say that it ALSO has multiple fulfilments. One past, one future. Both would have been future for Daniel…and he may have only seen one. We know the prophets often didn’t quite understand what they saw for various reasons…prophetic foreshortening for one. The did not foresee two seperate comings of Messiah either…what they saw looked like one coming.
All that to say…yes, future. But that does NOT discount past fulfilments that were foreshadowing events.

This would mean Daniel saw 3 events.

Antiochus Epiphanies is the first.

Preterist see 70AD as the second.

There is still a future where Christ sets up a throne in a temple. That temple and throne are made desolate.

Daniel 9:26 shows the destruction and desolation because Jerusalem ceased to exist as inhabited for years. This 70AD event was neither Antiochus Epiphanies nor the future temple at the Second Coming.

Jesus was warning about the future one at the Second Coming. But the warning was still applied to 66AD, even though Jesus was not talking about 70AD.

The error of Preterist is claiming the OD was only about 70AD. It was only about the Second Coming.
