In verse 44 the term “next sabbath day” has to mean the “first day of the week” as almost the whole city gathered together to hear the word of God. Since that time until today, the New Testament churches correctly worshipped on the first day of the week as declared by Matthew (not by the RCC) who was under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit when he uttered the words in Matthew 28:1.

Mark 2:27 - "And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath" The sabbath has always been intended as a day of rest and has always been a type for the eternal rest we will receive in Christ.

Isn't this discussion kind of moot considering the liberty we have in Christ. Col. 2:16-17 - "Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ."

But the Jews did not meet in the outer court where the Christian Jews met.

It is anathema to build a doctrine on one verse of scripture.

You do know that Jesus broke the "lawful" sabbath quite often during his ministry to show that He was "The Lord of the Sabbath" don't you? He did this to show that many things in life are more important than hanging onto a law that had become burdensome by adding requirements for something God never intended.

It was not known as *Sunday* at that time. It was the first day of the week, or the morrow after the Sabbath.

In any event Sunday (day of the Sun) trumps Saturday (day of Saturn) by a wide margin. Saturn was evil.

No, because there is no official day in the NT.

The word “next” in the term “next sabbath day” means “in between.” Go ahead check me out and get a concordance. The term “next sabbath day” therefore can now be rendered as, “the FIRST DAY OF THE WEEK”

This is so because the disciples also started to worship and break bread on “the first day of the week” in Troas, as we read Acts 20:7.

Where did you get the notion you are correct without giving your reasons?

What? came the word of God out from you? or came it unto you only?

You did not give evidence, just your opinion.

But in the New Testament there is no single day of the week assigned to be the Sabbath. Is left up to the individual.

    Evidence in Acts 11:42; 44.

I cannot help you seeing you do NOT know how to read nor understand Scripture.

    Colossians 2:16-18 KJV
[16] Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days : [17] Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ. [18] Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,
