But who is an adulterer in the eyes of God? Without Christ we are all guilty of cheating on God thankfully, our confessed sins are forgiven
AMEN!!

This is all just really unfortunate. I thought the woman caught in adultery was told by Jesus, neither do I condemn you. But Dave says, nope, she's going to hell.
Sometimes you seem to get it Dave, and I think there is hope, and then, you masticate camels and spit out the weightier parts of the law, like mercy. You put heavy weights on men's backs and refuse to lift a finger to help them.
And in all of it, YOU are the one I fear for.
YES!!
Dave’s just being pugnacious, the fact is adultry fornicators, homosexuality, murderers they don’t enter in that’s good news otherwise heaven would be just like this fallen world( the dung heap). Look that part is covered by Christ, but if he is present you’ll have a conviction to no longer practice these things. God wants us to be spiritualy blessed, he’s represented better that way, he’s glorified that way, but anyway He’s still glorified.YES!!
Well...I can try to help with what I've learned of it but its not easy, so i'll stumble around a bit and we will both pray that He comes and teaches us, okay?
Jesus said it, I only passed it on.Now you are sounding totally ridiculous.
I was beginning to have some respect for you...but your comment is nothing but a load of religious garbage .
Living in adultery = unrepentant sin = damnationSin of any kind will keep you from heaven, and the new creation, just the same, Jesus saves from sin.
Much love!
Mark
bondage = Greek for slavery. If it meant marriage, Paul would have said so. Don't send people to hell, that's Satan's job. Send them to heaven instead.Of course not!
:)
Maybe you are missing my point. Obviously it was a lack in the man. There's no lack in God! But maybe when we can suddenly see that God IS, it isn't complete sight. There is another thing He does to give us clearer sight.
In your 2nd paragraph, you say you don't know if your experience resonates with anyone but that you have been striving. But your experience DOES resonate with me and you should STOP striving and just go forward in calm trust that He knows what He is doing.
Cease all striving and know that I am God.
You feel no one is understanding you, but I absolutely do. You are searching around for what you have done wrong to cause this lack of feeling close to Him and want to find it and correct it. But having begun in Spirit, can you now perfect by your own effort? That's the opposite of trusting God. That's trying to help God in your perfecting. Won't work. You received the Spirit through some kind of hard work? You suppose you will take over from there?
You are judging my motive which is sin. Jesus said divorce and remarriage = adultery and such do not go to heaven. So I stand before him with a clear conscience. How about you?Dave’s just being pugnacious, the fact is adultry fornicators, homosexuality, murderers they don’t enter in that’s good news otherwise heaven would be just like this fallen world( the dung heap). My conscience is clear in Christ, but I stand guilty of adultry, because I’ve lusted in my heart. To say anything else would make God a liar. You are judging my motive which is sin. But you repent. It's not as easy to repent from an adulterous marriage with children involved. But adulterers must repent to receive forgiveness. My conscience is clear in Christ, but I stand guilty of adultry, because I’ve lusted in my heart. To say anything else would make God a liar.
To repent means to turn away. This would mean to terminate the adulterous relationship, how could this work? But you repent. It's not as easy to repent from an adulterous marriage with children involved. But adulterers must repent to receive forgiveness.
“And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name’s sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life. But many that are first shall be last; and the last shall be first.” (Matthew 19:29–30)To repent means to turn away. This would mean to terminate the adulterous relationship, how could this work?
This would be striving against blood“And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name’s sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life. But many that are first shall be last; and the last shall be first.” (Matthew 19:29–30)
Maybe I am just looking for some honesty here x
How so? When is sin acceptable? This would be striving against blood
Don't send more people to hell than you do to heaven.Rita - I see your point and I agree that betrayal strikes at the core of a marriage: your spouse should be the person that you trust the most. Therefore it's a very emotional issue and I'm sorry that you had to experience it. I experienced the pain second hand in our family and I don't feel that God will hold it against them because they divorced. In some instances a marriage can be salvaged, but in others it just seems that's not possible. Infidelity is a tough issue - I don't know how a marriage can recover completely from it.
As Helen said: it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks; it matters what God thinks.
Please don't take what Dave said to heart. He was not condemning anyone or going around shaming. All he did was answer a question that I asked him. It wasn't meant for anyone but me.
We're brothers and sisters in the Lord and we've all seen how we differ on doctrine, and many other things. And let's not forget that we have old Slewfoot trying to light a match between believers. I don't know if anyone agrees with this, but I read that there are demons assigned to every church. A pastor in CA actually had satanists put a goats head across from his church. It's only a hop, skip, and a jump to realize that maybe they're starting trouble here.
It's painful when you feel put on the spot and when another believer hurts you. I really hope that this can be dropped. I asked Dave a question and he answered me - it was not meant for anyone else. We won't know who is right until we reach the celestial city. I sometimes pose questions to our pastor at bible study. I respect him because he'll admit it when he doesn't know something. He doesn't conjure an explanation up from his own mind. He laughs and tells me to ask Him when we get to heaven:)
I can't study for you, that's your job.
