To be perfectly honest with you guys I'm rather surprised that I even need to be asking this question and that some people on here actually don't think that they do. For God's name is in the pledge and on our currency and in a lot of our patriotic songs. Even though we have a rough history, America was definitely founded as a Christian nation and that's actually a fact. @amadeus, this is a friendly debate don't worry,.. but I wanted to continue our discussion on this thread since we were getting off topic before. :)

You left no space for all of the people who are not living in the United States and who are not American citizens. There lots of them on this forum!

I dont hate America but i dont love it either. I respect others rights to their views and im only speaking on how i see it. Going back to the formation of the country Native Americans were forced out of their settlements so European settlers could colonize. There were 3 methods to removing the Native Americans from their settlements: Murder, spreading deseases and instigating wars between tribes

Slavery was present early on and supported by former US presidents who are now idolized by some. Blacks have never been treated fairly by this country, they have always been the group most subject to oppression

The leaders in this country do nothing to censor the garbage on tv and the radio that is looking to lure the youth into being servants of worldly things from the time they are 3 years old

Abortions...think of all the babies that have been murdered here over the years. Think of how they took the 10 commandments and prayer out of school

On the other hand, brave men and women fought to protect our rights and freedoms. I respect the military, however i do not support all the wars we were involved in. I respect the police that do their job with integrity and genuinely sign up so they can protect and serve the community. Many people have come here from other countries and bettered their lives

I believe unfortunately and sadly that most Americans are following the prosperity gospel, not the one true gospel. The word "hypocrisy" comes to mind when I hear "One nation under God"

I personally wouldnt want the "Patriot" label applied to me. I think the American dream is the American deception. I only want to be known as a Christian

And again i mean no disrespect to others who disagree or see things differently

I never said that there wasn't. They can answer to if they wish. I think that the UK was primarily founded upon Christianity as well. :)

When the discussion, debate or argument on this forum was hot and heavy just prior to last November's election more than one non-U.S. citizen got rebuked for expressing an opinion by some supposedly good patriotic U.S citizen. One of those rebuked people is no longer with us as a result. You say they can answer if they want but is it perhaps at their peril if they say something harsh with regard to the USA? What is good for the goose is also good for the gander?

Anybody can say whatever they want as long it doesn't go against the forum rules I don't care. It's an open discussion.

You don't care, but I do and I believe that God does...

Am I missing something? All I said was that anybody can add anything they want to the discussion at any given time. :/

The only thing that I know about this question is this.

The world does what it does: In it's affairs ; in all of the things you can think of.

Republican/Democrat/Libertarian/American/European/ ~ Nationality/Groups of what is created in the world. Have nothing to do with what Jesus Christ had to deal with. Jesus Christ nothing to do with this world, He was only here for one thing; and that was to restore life back to the world by and through paying for all the sins of the population of the world, to bring forth citizenship of being a child of God by believing and having faith on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Being a citizen of the heavenly kingdom which not of this earth. Jesus Christ said that if his kingdom was of this earth; then his disciples would put up a fight to take over the land, but they never did that. The disciples after the death and resurrection of Christ by God continued to preach the coming of the Kingdom, and the return of the Lord Jesus Christ unto all who would listen and accept the truth of the Gospel of Christ Jesus about his life, death, burial, resurrection and all of the many lessons he taught in that day in age. Around (30-33ad)

If one is not Patriotic what are you ? nothing a no body a lost cause.
'
When from he beginning that Israel was created it sure was Patriotic, the fall was the ones who failed to live up to be a true Israelite in fact.

From a Socialist point of view they bastardise the word Patriotic and make out that such a one is some hostile misfit looking for war. no it's nothing of the sort, it's having a backbone to stand up for the health of your Nation, it's pride in yourself and Nation and a willingness to strive for the best of such it's for the greater good for all people.

If one is not Patriotic you are one who sponges off everything and everyone, many such takes drugs to try and live in a fantasy land to be off with the pixies. such a one is all about can you help me out, but never ill lift a finger for anyone else overall.

Oh another Nation etc wants to bastardise your Nation and their intention is to destroy you body and Soul ? well the patriotic will not take a shine to such but the non patriotic could not care less regardless.
Ii it the tares and the wheat ?
One has a strong Family values that Is healthy for all concerned based and the other has nothing but trash with no true values who is a piss pot a pervert a molester or just a real self indulged grub with no virtue. you see such grubs spitting on people who have come back from serving in a war that such people have gone through hell, yet this trash spitting on some poor person who may of been drafted but do they care less, no.

Yes, anything that is possible, but as Paul wrote...

"All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any" I Cor 6:12

Yes and even though doing a lawful thing may not in itself harmful or sinful, the end result may be exactly that. It is possible for us put our hand into an open flame, but should we be surprised when our flesh is severely and irreversibly damaged? We can open the cage where the lions live and walk in, but should we presume that like for Daniel God will close up the lions mouth and keep us from all harm. That would be tempting God, would it not?

I think that it's also important to note here that the question isn't whether or not politics and Christianity go together,.. it's whether or not Christianity and patriotism go together. However, if you look at back at Jesus' time,.. politics were everywhere. They were treating Christ a lot like they treat Trump today.

I believe Jesus Christ was treated far worse than Trump...

He was beat in the face with a rod, and they spit in his face.

I know that's why I said that it was similar and not exact.

Can someone define "patriotism"? I don't see it in the Bible.

Well, apparently, the official definition is a love and pride towards ones homeland so as long as it doesn't go above and beyond the love you have for the Lord I don't really see it as unbiblical.

I find it impossible to love any Satanic government. I love the people, yes indeed!
