Do people have the right to dictate how you believe?

People do not have a right to dictate what you must believe in order to have a relationship with Yahavah/Yahweh, the God of life. Anyone who tries to dictate you on what you must do in order to be right with Yahavah, and it has nothing to do with the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus is someone who is trying to control you. I do also sometimes include the ascension and his return but not everyone believes that has happened yet and they still wait for Yeshua. That's all fine and good. I just share for people to think about the things they have been taught. There is nothing wrong with sharing information, it just when the information that is being shared is saying --- you must do this or you must do that in order to be right with God -- you must go to church otherwise to them you are not a believer, or whatever it is. People do not have the right to do anything like that. People also don't have the right to go around and condemning and judging people either... Those are dangerous territories to be in dont you think? Have you ever had anyone ever try to dictate over you? Saying you must do this or do that in order to be right with God, forgetting all about the death, burial, and resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and everything he did in order for us to be set free of ourselves and live by the spirit and have freedom to love by the spirit even with the suffering that comes with dying to self? Believers have no right to condemn unbelievers, and believers who see things differently have no right to condemn others who might see differently... When pushing and shoving get involved that's when its time to walk away.

No one has the right to dictate what you must believe in order to have a relationship with Yahavah/Yahweh, the God of life. Scripture teaches that our standing with God is based on the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus — not on human traditions or the demands of religious authorities.

Paul warned the early believers about anyone who tried to add requirements beyond the gospel: “Stand fast… and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.” (Galatians 5:1) Any person who insists you must follow their rules to be right with God is stepping into a place of control that Scripture never gives them.

Some believers also emphasize the ascension and the return of Yeshua. Others understand those events differently. That’s fine — sincere people can wrestle with these things. My goal is simply to encourage people to think about what they’ve been taught and to examine everything in light of Scripture. “Test all things; hold fast what is good.” (1 Thessalonians 5:21)

There is nothing wrong with sharing information. The problem comes when someone says:

• “You must do this to be right with God.”
• “You must attend church or you’re not a believer.”
• “You must follow our system or you’re condemned.”

Scripture never gives people the authority to make those demands. Jesus Himself warned against religious leaders who “bind heavy burdens” on others (Matthew 23:4).

Likewise, people do not have the right to condemn or judge others. “Who are you to judge another’s servant?” (Romans 14:4) Condemnation is dangerous territory, and Jesus made it clear that the measure we use on others will be measured back to us (Matthew 7:1–2).

Many of us have experienced someone trying to dictate what we must do to be accepted by God — as if the finished work of Christ were not enough. But the gospel is clear: “By grace you have been saved through faith… not of works.” (Ephesians 2:8–9)

Jesus set us free so we could live by the Spirit, walk in love, and grow in humility — even through the suffering that comes with dying to self.

Believers have no right to condemn unbelievers, and believers who see things differently have no right to condemn one another. Paul addressed this directly: “Let each be fully convinced in his own mind.” (Romans 14:5)

When conversations turn into pushing, shoving, or attempts to control, that’s the moment to step away. “Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.” (2 Corinthians 3:17)
