When are our names written in the Book of Life ... and can they be removed?

When we are conceived! Anyone who has ever ‘received the breath of life’ (Genesis 2:7) - including those who are living now - has their name written in the Book of Life.

However, it is possible to have your name removed from the Book of Life if you are not ‘one who overcomes’ …

Those who die without receiving Christ as Lord and Savior are spiritually dead. In essence, they are no longer in the kingdom. These are those who will have their names then blotted out from the Book when they die without trusting Jesus Christ.”

Now if we all gain Adam's sin when we are born, then I have to disagree with the above.

My understanding of Gen 2:7 is this: -

Gen 2:7: - 7 And the Lord God formed man from the dust of His fertile soil and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.

However, when children were born after the fall, they receive Adam's sin of turning away from God. Children as the grow in their wisdom, they can establish a living relationship with God such that they will gain the gift of "Life everlasting" if they remain in relationship with Him always. However, if they turn away from their relationship with God they then become a candidate for the second death at the time of the final judgement.

God in His wisdom has provided the means for mankind to overcome sin and to reconnect their personal relationship with God.

In the NT letters, there is a verse which states that if we say that we have no sin, then we have sinned.

It is the parents' responsibility to train their children in the ways of the Lord and to guide them into their own personal relationship with Him.
