Yes, St. SteVen, yes, I have kept a lot of good company, and a lot of them were Calvinists, who don't ever speak negatively about God, the way you characterize some Christians. In fact, I am a Calvinist who has studied Calvin's Institutes of the Christian Religion. You might try it; you might like it. You can get it online.I guess you have kept some good company.
Have you never heard of Calvinism?
@St. SteVen said the Christians he knows talk about God, @Wick Stick, as follows: "Only with great difficulty that God loves and tolerates us." That's not the Bible's description at all. Furthermore, I still don't know any who talk that way about God, because it's not true.Really? I've hardly found any the other way
It seems that people say plenty of things about God that are not true.Furthermore, I still don't know any who talk that way about God, because it's not true.
@St. SteVen, the Christians that I know tell the truth about God.It seems that people say plenty of things about God that are not true.
Since not everyone agrees about God, nor can we fully know.
On what basis?@St. SteVen, the Christians that I know tell the truth about God.
@St. SteVen, the only true basis for any true opinions is the Bible's teachings and history. That basis is John Calvin's and mine.On what basis?
Your established opinions?
That works for your little tribe, but for anyone outside the tribe.@St. SteVen, the only true basis for any true opinions is the Bible's teachings and history. That basis is John Calvin's and mine.
All the truly-Christian, biblical churches agree on the basic doctrines but do disagree on some of the much-less-important ones, @St. SteVen.That works for your little tribe, but for anyone outside the tribe.
There is no consensus on what the Bible teaches.
This forum is proof enough.
All the law including in love others as yourself.Does God care more for himself than he cares for us?
Agree. All the law including in love others as yourself.
So God must love us as he love himself.
I like that. Common sense answer to the questionAll the law including in love others as yourself.
So God must love us as he love himself.
Must be a rhetorical question. - LOLSomewhere on the Heavenly Forums, some angel has started a thread titled, "Does Man care more for himself than he cares for God?"
