The answer is NO... He wants us to heed His Word and Live an abundant life.. but we CHOOSE to be captive to sin and God has warned us that Sin brings forth sickness, dis-ease and death..
Choose life which is by receiving Christ to indwell your heart and LIVE..... for if the Word(The Light, Jesus) abides in your heart then you will not fulfill the lusts of the flesh that causes us to sin(fall for temptations to live in Darkness) which must be dealt with and bring's forth God's judgment as He warned us of the consequences of our actions. Darkness(sin) separates us from God who is LIGHT and causes SPIRITUAL thereby PHYSICAL Death for darkness can not know the Spirit of God. If you do truly have the Word abiding in your heart then your body should be becoming healthier and healthier for the Word of God is Spirit and Life. Our bodies are still the same as those in the old testament who lived for hundreds of years up to 900 and beyond. We die early because of the sins of the world be it living an ungodly life or due to other's sins of creating chemicals that destroy our bodies which we find in everything from pharmakea/medications and cleansers to atomic bombs.
We may not be able to avoid the chemicals in the world but we can certainly keep allowing that flesh man to be burned off and cut away as in our daily sacrifice of SELF Centeredness to live FOR The Word doing what he said is good. We may stumble in our new walk of spiritual life, but because of the work Jesus did on the cross, we can repent and get back up as our loving Father takes our hand to help us back up when we preserver so that we eventually learn how not to FALL(SIN) NO MORE.
Jesus said Go and sin no more least a worse thing come upon you.

We only loose the battle when we turn back to Egypt or refuse to get back up and mover FORWARD in Christ till the Word is our Lord aka authority to LIVE BY and sin has no more control over us for we have overcome.
What is the importance of overcoming our carnal nature that leads us to sin against man and God?

There is no sickness or disease in the kingdom of God that is why FLESH AND BLOOD can not enter into the kingdom of God for they are still lead of their fleshly lusts being still in darkness tempted to sin and can not obey the Spirit of God to live in the Light for a life of PEACE and wholeness.
It is a process, so do not throw in the towel.. fight the good fight of faith to find your path out of the wilderness and on the road to eternal life in Christ Jesus.. the LIVING Word of the LIVING God.
Always pray FOR the Peace of Jerusalem... to come into your life.
