Google Has Power to Shift Millions of Votes Through Targeted Messaging: Dr. Robert Epstein

Big Tech companies such Google and Facebook have enormous power to shift people’s opinions and voting preferences through manipulation of the content of their home pages that users see on screens of their devices, without people knowing, said Dr. Robert Epstein, a senior research psychologist at the American Institute for Behavioral Research and Technology in California.

“I calculated months ago, that if all the Silicon Valley companies, the most powerful two being Google and Facebook, if they’re all pushing in the same direction, that could easily shift in this election 15 million votes, which means they, in effect, decide who the next president is going to be,” Epstein said in an interview on Epoch Times’ “American Thought Leaders” program.

Epstein has conducted a large monitoring project “to determine what the big tech companies were showing people in the days leading up to the 2016, 2018, and now the 2020 election.”

The project team recruited “a diverse group of 733 registered voters, Republicans, Democrats and independents,” from “three very critical battleground states: Arizona, Florida, and North Carolina.”

Those field agents were equipped with special software that tracked their activity on the internet, “for example, doing searches on Google, Bing, and Yahoo,” Epstein explained.

The software gave the project team capability to see–with the agents’ permission—all election-related activities on the internet performed by the field agents, Epstein said, it was like seeing agents’ screens. “We are looking over their shoulders, using software,” Epstein explained.

The purpose of the monitoring was to capture ephemeral content such as search results, reminders on the Google or Facebook homepage, search suggestions, newsfeeds, YouTube sequences. This fleeting content can impact users when it appears but later it disappears forever leaving no trace, Epstein explained.

Epstein has collected and preserved more than half a million ephemeral messages on Google and Facebook home pages of his field agents that otherwise would have been lost forever.

“And we have indeed found evidence of bias and we’ve also found what some people might want to call a smoking gun,” Epstein said.

“We found that during the week of October 26, that’s quite close to the election, only our liberal field agents were getting vote reminders on Google’s home page,” Epstein said.

Among those who identified themselves as conservative, “not a single person saw that reminder on the homepage,” he added.


On October 29, Epstein made his findings public.

On the same day at night “starting at midnight, on October 29, just days before the election, all of our field agents began to receive that vote reminder on Google’s homepage. And that continued until the very end of Election Day on November 3,” Epstein said.

Epstein explained his findings, “If you’re supporting one candidate, of course, you want to mobilize the base … to get those voters off of their sofas if they haven’t yet voted by mail.” “Secondly, you want to discourage supporters of the candidate you oppose from voting, so you want to keep those people home,” he said.

To influence people who are still undecided, “you’re going to apply the most pressure … to try to nudge those undecided voters in one direction. or the other,” Epstein said adding that “normally in a close election, those people decide who wins.”

Google “home page is seen in the United States 500 million times a day. If that kind of reminder was being used systematically over a period of time, it affected more than who voted on election day it affected who sent in mail, in votes, it affected who registered to vote,” Epstein said.

YouTube which is a part of Google can also significantly impact people‘s opinions by suggesting more videos to watch, Epstein said adding that “of the videos that people watch on YouTube around the world 70 [percent] are suggested by YouTube’s up next algorithm.”

Google did not immediately respond to a request for comments.

“I lean left, myself, I think it’s great that they’re pushing causes and candidates that I like, and that my family likes. But, you know, I put democracy and I put the free and fair election, I put our country ahead of any personal preferences I might have for a candidate or a party. And the fact is if we allow companies like Google to control the outcome of our elections, then we have no democracy, there is no free and fair election, all of that is illusory,” Epstein said.

After learning about Epstein’s findings, Sens. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.), Ted Cruz (R-Texas), and Mike Lee (R-Utah) wrote on Nov. 5 a letter to Google CEO Sundar Pichai requesting clarification of his testimony to the House Committee on the Judiciary and his response to senators’ written inquiry from August.

Pichai said in his response to senators, “Google does not modify any products, including Search, to promote a particular political viewpoint … [we] will not do so for the upcoming 2020 presidential election,” according to the letter.

“Big Tech presents a grave threat to free speech in America and to the integrity of our elections. Google has more power than any company on the face of the planet, and Dr. Epstein’s findings raise serious concerns about Google’s abuse of that power and its willingness to manipulate its platform to help Joe Biden win the presidency. Google must provide answers as to why and how it manipulated users to influence this election,” Cruz said in a statement.

Dominion Early History
Dominion Voting System Corp., was founded in Canada in 2002-2003 with an openly progressive mission – to develop electronic voting software which would not just process ballots, but also “mobilize voters” – a popular slogan of the Left.

It is not clear what products or services the company has developed. It found almost no buyers, until Obama was elected in 2008. In 2009, New York ordered a few dozens of systems from it. In 2010, Obama’s DOJ (Holder – Mueller) took the EVS unit, purchased from Diebold, away from the market leader ES&S, and gave it to Dominion. This gift included the installed base of about 30% of the US electronic voting systems (EVS) market. Within two weeks, Dominion also acquired Sequoia, which was formally spun from Smartmatic, but ties between these two companies remained. Smartmatic is a UK based EVS vendor, whose software was used by Chavez to “win” the Venezuelan referendum in 2004. Smartmatic’s unit Sequoia faced troubles in the US. Those troubles quickly ended when its assets were purchased by Dominion.

Thus, the new Democratic party created a pocket pet corporation, gave it the lion share of the US electronic voting systems market. Dominion is ideologically aligned with the Democratic Party, owes it everything it has, dependent on it for most of its business, and needs it in power to avoid prosecution for corruption. Sounds like a conflict of interest.



Technical Vulnerabilities of EVS Systems
The voting software developers can easily insert code, changing numbers in favor of or against one candidate. No hacking is necessary. The malicious code can be designed to pass tests and to be triggered only at the time of a real election, automatically or manually. Both case are possible even the the machine is disconnected from the internet and has no ordinary I/O devices. The malicious code can be activated manually in real time by inserting a ballot or another paper with a pre-defined QR or image code. An audit of the source code is necessary, but not sufficient. Dominion software runs on Windows, and the malicious code can be hidden in any part of the operating system. Malicious code can be hidden in the firmware, too.

If a state wants to take risks and to rely on testing and the source code audit, they should be conducted with the participation of technically competent representatives of both parties. If the system passes testing and auditing, the machine image must be securely stored. All supplied machines must have exactly the same hardware and the software as the audited system.

As far as I know, thorough tests and source code audits are conducted very rarely, if at all. Further, the vendors are not required to use only the audited image, and are allowed to update the software almost at will. That means that election commissions are forced to blindly trust the vendors. Blind trust is always wrong and invites abuse. But even “trust but verify” is applicable only to trustworthy vendors. Dominion Voting is the opposite of trustworthy.

The only real solution to the vulnerability of EVS is not to use them at all. Manual ballot counting has no software vulnerabilities, and is much cheaper. Virginia appears to be the only state that decided to use only manual ballots.

President Donald Trump lawyer Jordan Sekulow said an election challenge that will be filed this week contains new allegations about irregularities.

“We have got lawsuits likely to be filed in Georgia on either Monday or Tuesday; I can’t get into the details,” he said to Newsmax, without providing any examples. “I can’t tell you right now, but what’s coming in Georgia will be shocking, when we file this in federal court Monday or Tuesday,” he added. “It’s nothing that we have talked [about] before. It’s not what you heard in the press conference [on Thursday] either."

Sekulow, the son of Trump personal attorney and impeachment defender Jay Sekulow, said it is “something completely separate” from the allegations contained in the press conference held by lawyers Sidney Powell, Jenna Ellis, and Rudy Giuliani.

“They’ve got to be outcome determinative, but I will tell you, the Lt. Gov. [Geoff Duncan] in Georgia, the Secretary of State in Georgia [Brad Raffensperger] in Georgia, they’re in for quite a shock on Monday and Tuesday about how poorly they run and they ran—there’s going to be a proof—of how poorly run they ran the elections in one of their major counties,” Sekulow said....

The Holy Spirit had laid it on my heart last week to pray for Jay Sekulow. He's a Christian, and I have been praying that he would have access to info concerning election fraud.... I had no idea that his son Jordan is working to expose fraud.

Federal Election Commission (FEC) Chairman Trey Trainor said that affidavits from the Trump campaign show that fraud has occurred during the November general election.

“The massive amounts of affidavits that we see in these cases show that there was in fact fraud that took place,” he said during an interview with “Just the News AM” on Friday.

He said it’s important to have transparency surrounding the election process and that answering questions raised by the Trump campaign over election integrity is “very important for the legitimacy of the presidency.”

In response to a question from reporter Carrie Sheffield, Trainor specifically mentioned a sworn affidavit by Steven Miller, a professor of mathematics at Williams College.

Miller—who specializes in analytic number theory and sabermetrics—flagged nearly 100,000 ballots in Pennsylvania for potential voter fraud after analyzing election data and phone interviews.

Between 89,397 to 98,801 ballots were either requested by someone other than the registered Republican, or requested and returned but not counted, he said.

Trainor said that Miller is clearly qualified as an expert witness in almost any court in the United States and that the court would have to look at the information he has provided.

Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden didn’t respond immediately to a request for comment from The Epoch Times.

Trump Team Showcases Evidence Amid Legal Battle
Rudy Giuliani and Sidney Powell, two leading attorneys for the Trump campaign’s legal battle over the process of the November election, outlined their evidence of alleged election fraud and abnormalities during a press conference on Thursday.

During the presser, which Trump lawyer Jenna Ellis described as an “opening statement,” the Trump legal team said there are a great number of affidavits in support of their allegations.

“We have, in the Michigan case, 220 affidavits. They are not all public, but eight of them are,” Giuliani said.

The Epoch Times can’t verify those affidavits independently.

Various governmental officials at state and local levels have confirmed reports of voter fraud, including that of Republican poll watchers being blocked from poll sites, votes being cast in the name of dead persons, and election rules being changed by judges or officials bypassing the state legislature institutions, among others.

According to federal law, a person who knowingly makes a false statement in a sworn affidavit could be charged with perjury, to face up to five years in prison and/or fines.

It’s unclear how many affidavits the Trump team will present to the court, as most of the sworn affidavits have yet to be made public.

According to Powell’s remarks during an interview with Fox Business on Friday, there’re at least two areas that the Trump legal team is working on.

“I’m focusing more on the technology and the fraud, and he [Giuliani] is working [on] the individual witnesses, on that side of things,” she said.

Trump campaign attorney Sidney Powell on Nov. 21 said that the president’s lawyers will file a lawsuit of “biblical” proportions, alleging that some election officials were embroiled in a pay-to-play scheme with a prominent manufacturer of voting software.

“We’ve got tons of evidence; it’s so much, it’s hard to pull it all together,” Powell told Newsmax. She didn’t provide or elaborate on the evidence.

“Hopefully this week we will get it ready to file, and it will be biblical,” Powell said. “It’s a massive project to pull this fraud claim together with the evidence that I want to put in.”

Powell said the voting system’s algorithms provided Democrats 35,000 extra votes. She said Democratic candidate Joe Biden’s votes were “weighted” at 1.25 times, while President Donald Trump’s votes were parsed at 0.75.

The longtime lawyer and former federal prosecutor also alleged that there were modifications to some voting machines after the legal cutoff for changes.

Powell also said that some governors may have engaged in a pay-to-play scheme to use Dominion Voting Systems—one of the Trump campaign’s chief targets in recent days. “Georgia is probably going to be the first state I’m going to blow up,” she said, accusing Gov. Brian Kemp of engaging in a pay-to-play scheme.

Kemp’s office hasn’t responded to a request for comment, although Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger has frequently said there were no instances of fraud or irregularities in the state.

Dominion, in several statements to The Epoch Times, has categorically denied allegations of election tampering and voter fraud in recent days, saying that Trump’s team has peddled “falsehoods regarding Dominion” in recent press conferences and interviews.

“Dominion employees do not have access to the [canvass] adjudication system, nor do they operate it,” the Toronto-based firm said in a statement. It added that “access to the adjudication system resides with the election authority using it” and that “the system is controlled through secure and verifiable user accounts, and all voter intent adjustments are securely logged in the system and then recorded in the digital image of the ballot.”

Dominion also cited statements made by the secretaries of state in Michigan, Arizona, Pennsylvania, and Georgia, who said they’ve found no evidence of voter fraud large enough to overturn the election.

However, the chairman of the Federal Election Commission, Trey Trainor, has repeatedly said there was voter fraud in key states. “The massive amounts of affidavits that we see in these cases show that there was in fact fraud that took place,” he said during an interview with “Just the News AM” on Nov. 20, while suggesting a lack of transparency.

The questions raised by the Trump campaign in recent days are “very important for the legitimacy of the presidency,” Trainor said.

Trump hasn’t conceded. The Epoch Times will not declare a winner of the 2020 presidential election until all legal challenges have run their course.

Last week, Powell told Fox Business that she will prove Trump’s voter fraud case within the next two weeks or so.

“We have evidence now of information from the systems going to three or four different foreign countries during the time of the election, those countries themselves could have watched the live votes come in and changed the numbers,” said Powell. “There’s significant evidence of foreign interference from the worst communist countries on the Earth with our election.”

In this report, he talks about votes being switched by voting machines. I've been hearing about this problem for probably close to 20 years now, but many are discounting the possibility, lol. Trump Still Has Several Constitutional Paths to Victory, Dershowitz Says

Alan Dershowitz, a Harvard Law professor emeritus, said he thinks President Donald Trump has several legal paths to a 2020 election victory.

Dershowitz said there are a few “constitutional paths to victory” for the president’s legal team, although he noted that Trump will face legal hurdles in all of them.

“For example, in Pennsylvania, they have two very strong legal arguments. One, that the courts changed what the legislature did about counting ballots after the end of Election Day. That’s a winning issue in the Supreme Court. I don’t necessarily support it, but it’s a winning issue in the Supreme Court,” Dershowitz told Fox Business on Nov. 22.

The team, meanwhile, has “a winning issue in the Supreme Court on equal protection, that some counties allowed flawed ballots to be cured while others didn’t. Bush v. Gore suggests that an Equal Protection argument can prevail.”

Dershowitz, who helped defend Trump during the Senate impeachment trial earlier this year, said that because of Democratic candidate Joe Biden’s lead over the president, Trump’s team may not be able to contest enough ballots in Pennsylvania.

“The other legal theory they have, which is a potentially strong one, is that the computers, either fraudulently or by glitches, changed hundreds of thousands of votes. There, there are enough votes to make a difference, but I haven’t seen the evidence to support that,” he said. “So, in one case, they don’t have the numbers. In another case, they don’t seem yet to have the evidence, maybe they do. I haven’t seen it. But the legal theory is there to support them if they have the numbers and they have the evidence.”

However, time is running out for Trump’s legal team, he said.

“You need to have witnesses, experts subject to cross-examination, and findings by a court,” he said, adding that there is no “legal route to undoing that” after the election is certified. “Their strongest case, if they have the evidence, is that computers may have turned hundreds of thousands of votes.”

Last week, Dershowitz noted that if Trump can “keep the Biden [electoral] count below 270, then the matter goes to the House of Representatives, where, of course, there is a Republican majority among the delegations of states, and you vote by state if it goes to the House.”

“You need a perfect storm for it to work,” he said. “You need to get enough states, enough state attorneys general, or state departments, or whoever, secretaries of state or governors that are Republican that legitimately refuse to certify the results because they’re under challenge on the day the Electoral College meets by statute.”

Rep. Mo Brooks (R-Ala.), a former prosecutor, told The Epoch Times last week that Congress has the “ultimate say over whether to accept or reject” Electoral College votes.

“Congress has the absolute right to reject the submitted Electoral College votes of any state, which we believe has such a shoddy election system that you can’t trust the election results that those states are submitting to us, that they’re suspect,” Brooks said. “And I’m not going to put my name in support of any state that employs an election system that I don’t have confidence in.”

Brooks noted that “on January 6th at 1 p.m. Eastern time, the 50 states will report to Congress, the president [of the] Senate will preside over this meeting” and “will report to Congress what they contend are their Electoral College results in their state.” The president of the Senate, under the U.S. Constitution, is Vice President Mike Pence.

Georgia Governor Calls for Audit of Signatures on Ballot Envelopes

Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp on Friday urged the state’s top election official to conduct an audit of the signatures on ballot envelopes.

Kemp, a Republican, made the remarks during a press conference during which he signaled that he would sign off on the certification of the election results after the Peach State conducted a risk-limiting audit of the presidential election which showed Democratic nominee Joe Biden ahead of President Donald Trump by 12,284 votes.

“It’s important to note that this audit only looked at ballots, not the signatures of the absentee applications or the signatures on the ballot envelopes,” Kemp said, adding that he would encourage Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger to address concerns about the signatures.

“It seems simple enough to conduct a sample audit of signatures on the absentee ballot envelopes and compare those to the signatures on applications and on file at the secretary of state’s office.”

The risk-limiting audit, which has been referred to as a hand recount, turned up thousands of uncounted votes in four counties. More than a dozen witnesses of the recount signed sworn affidavits attesting to errors and potential fraud, including Trump votes which were counted for Biden and suspicious batches of pristine, uncreased, and uniformly filled absentee ballots.

Both mail-in ballots and provisional ballots voted in person are folded before being placed into a privacy envelope, making the absence of any creases odd. The odd batches were overwhelmingly for Biden. On one occasion, more auditors counted more than 500 of the pristine ballots in a row for the former vice president.

Trump and his campaign have repeatedly complained that the risk-limiting audit was meaningless without an examination of the signatures on the ballot envelopes.

“The Governor of Georgia, and Secretary of State, refuse to let us look at signatures which would expose hundreds of thousands of illegal ballots, and give the Republican Party and me, David Perdue, and perhaps Kelly Loeffler, a BIG VICTORY,” the president wrote on Twitter on Nov. 20. “Why won’t they do it, and why are they so fast to certify a meaningless tally?”

During the brief announcement on Friday, Kemp said that the certification of the election results opens new paths for the Trump campaign, including a recount.

A day prior to Kemp’s announcement, a Georgia federal judge denied a motion to block the certification, which was brought as part of a lawsuit by Lin Wood, an attorney with the Trump campaign. Rudy Giuliani, the head of Trump’s post-election legal effort, said on Thursday that the Trump campaign planned to file a lawsuit in Georgia on Friday.

Raffensperger’s office did not respond to a request for comment.

The risk-limiting audit shrunk Biden’s lead in the Peach State by 496 votes. Three of the four batches of uncounted votes discovered during the audit contained more votes for Trump than Biden.
