“…if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth…” (1 Peter 4:11)

Absolutely..

"seminary" is a good place to learn how to keep learning. Its a good start.
Really, for most, its just proof you are serious about ministry.

The rest of what i posted is the real school of the Spirit, for me.
I learned as much working in 2 Hospitals and an Elderly Care facility regarding Spirituality, as i ever learned from Seminary Class.
I learned as much about ministry by going to the Gym for many years....just this grinding discipline to keep lifting weights, month after month, year after year, then i learned by just going to Church.

God has ample ways to get his INFO into you, and the best way of all, is to find a good Teacher, and listen, be quiet, and learn.

People who are real students of the word, ask questions.
Ask the RIGHT question is how you become the best student.
People who are just in it to argue, just argue, and post cut and paste or insult.

1 John to unbelievers?

Its not DOCTRINE for the Believer.

Look.

3.) What causes all this confusion about 1 John 1:9, is that this verse is not given to the Child of God as doctrine.
That's the issue.

Notice that Paul says in 2 Corinthians 5:19 and Romans 4:8.... teaches that God does not charge sin to you.

While John in 1 John 1:9. says..>"if we say we have no sin".

PAUL JUST TOLD US THAT GOD DOES NOT CHARGE SIN against us.........and John just told you to confess it, because you have it.

FEW people read any bible, so they dont realize this CONTRADiCTION......that isn't.

Reader..

Paul is talking to you the born again....= God does not charge sin to you., as He charged it to JESUS who died for it ALL.

John is talking to the unbeliever = Tells them to confess sin, because THEY have it.........not the born again Christian.

See that?

GET THAT REVELATiON, and watch how your walk with God becomes RIGHT and FREE and Powerful.

How do you read it-"practice" "cannot go on sinning?"
I read it that I am a born again child of God, my heart/ spirit has the indwelling Holy Spirit..therefore I can’t go on sinning, why, because I have been born again/ born of God, how can we sin if we have the indwelling Holy Spirit?

God doesn’t see my sin no more, I’ve been birthed in the Spirit...my sin is in Christ...he took all of my sin ,so that I could taste freedom....I am free, yup, free from any sin.

What is the point of confessing our sins, when we don’t have any, they have been forgiven, past, present and future?....my sin is all on Jesus and that’s where they are staying......it has taken over 30 yrs to understand this....my thoughts and belief

"In Christ".

We exist there....as a Born Again Spirit.

We are down here in a body.........and have a mind.......YES.

But to GOD, .... He sees only the BORN AGAIN SPIRIT, that is IN CHRIST....."made righteous".

You'll get a new body., and you have to renew your mind to see what GOD sees as the REAL YOU.

=The REAL CHRISTian = The Born Again Spirit.

And,
Where is Jesus?
Where is He?

He's in HEAVEN.
Right?

Is there sin in Heaven?
Are the born again "In CHRIST"?
So, if we are In Christ and He's in HEAVEN then could we have any sin?

See this? That is "the simplicity that is IN CHRIST"

Its so simple, but you have to SEE IT......as its Revelation Knowledge.

The Born again are...."seated in heavenly places IN CHRIST"

Which means....

= """"""As JESUS IS.......so are the born again...in this world'"""

Let me show you how to understand what it means to be born again.

= "I am the righteousness of God, in Christ"

= "I am the Righteousness of GOD.........IN... Christ"

= I am......THE......Righteousness of GOD......in Christ"?

When ?

= Forever.

One final question remains to be answered. If 1 John 1:9 is not a verse for restoration to fellowship, what should believers do when they sin?

We have a Pauline pattern that is much more effective in dealing with sin in the believer’s life. First of all, we need to recognize that we don’t have to sin.

In each situation, spiritual power is available to overcome sin. God has provided a total victory program over sin to each member of the Body of Christ. Romans Chapter 6 is key in the knowledge of practical sanctification. Note especially the words “know, reckon, and yield” verses 3,11,13. Other “victory passages” include: Romans 8:1-11; 12:1,2; 13:8-14; 1 Corinthians 6:9-20; 9:24-27; 10:13; 13:4-7; 2 Corinthians 3:17,18; 6:14-7:1; 10:4,5; 12:21; Galatians 5:13-26; Ephesians 4:17-24; 5:1-21; 6:10-18; Philippians 2:5-11; 3:10-14; 4:5-9; Colossians 3:1-17; 1 Thessalonians 2:13; 5:22,23; 1 Timothy 3:1-13; 4:11-16; 5:2; Titus 2:6-8,11-14.

If sin gets the advantage over us, the problem is with self, not because God has left us unequipped.

However, because of the infirmity of our flesh, even the most mature Christians do sin. When this happens, the first thing to remember is our complete forgiveness in Christ Jesus. This will prevent us from going on another guilt trip and instead produce gratitude, love, and stability. Far from resulting in a license to sin, the proper motivation (Grace) and empowerment (the Life of Christ) will be in a position to take over.

Further, an attitude of self-judgment should characterize the repentant believer (1 Cor. 11:31). Godly sorrow worketh repentance (2 Cor. 7:10) but the sorrow of the world worketh death (Matt. 27:5; Heb. 12:16,17). At times, the elders of the local church can be helpful (Gal. 6:1; 2 Tim. 2:24-26).

Closely associated with self-judgment is Paul’s command to “put off” the old man and “put on” the new man (Eph. 4:22-24; Col. 3:5-10; Rom. 8:13; 13:14; Gal. 5:16,25).

We say “No” to that old nature which we inherited from Adam and “Yes” to the new nature which we inherited from Christ. Nothing complicated or mysterious here, only obedience to the command of God. Although Paul does not speak of confession in his epistles, Luke does give us an inspired account of it in relation to his ministry (Acts 19:18).

Many of Paul’s commands cannot be obeyed without self-judgment which would of necessity include a confession of sin (2 Cor. 7:1; 2 Tim. 2:21; 1 Cor. 5:2; 11:31,32).

When a Christian sins, we should agree with God’s Word that it is wrong (confess) and forsake the behavior or attitude by putting off the old man and putting on the new man. So we confess our sins, not in order to receive forgiveness, but because we wish to be properly attuned to grace and to thus glorify Him who has forgiven us all trespasses.

Sin causes a disjointedness in the Body of Christ. When we see ourselves “in Christ,” and realize that sin is contrary to our exalted position as sons of God, we can take measures to adjust our conduct to conform to the image of Christ.

Finally, separation is absolutely essential to a life pleasing to God (2 Cor. 6:14-7:1). This involves insulation but not isolation. We separate ourselves from unwholesome and defiling influences (including worldly religion) and cultivate friendships with believers of like precious faith who will encourage us to more godliness.

These are not to be taken as separate steps but as a part of a whole victory program over sin. The Word of God acts as our teacher, nourisher, and disciplinarian (2 Tim. 3:16,17; 4:2).

In conclusion, 1 John 1:9 is a salvation verse which fits “hand in glove” with the Prophecy program of the Gospel of the kingdom. It is the Ephesians 2:8 and 9 of the kingdom dispensation. It is a gross perversion and wrong to use it to hound sincere believers all through their Christian lives over sins for which our Savior has already answered. God is no longer forgiving sins piecemeal or in short installments.

In view of the “now time revelation” of the complete, total, and unconditional forgiveness of sins, the never ending cycle of sin, guilt, broken fellowship, confession, and forgiveness can only become a treadmill for the flesh. It traps the person in a personal performance system (works) and dishonors the Christ of the Cross who died to deliver us from it (Gal. 3:10,13).

We are now members of a New Creation in Christ and live in a state of perpetual forgiveness. Those who have made the transition from law to the present truth of Paul’s epistles will never end a prayer by saying, “…and forgive us our sins for Jesus’ sake.”

You agree?

Yes.

"God is A Spirit", who has birthed us as Born again Spiritually.

This is the "Son/Daughter" of God.
So, when you look at your hands, legs, face, .... that is just the body, and "its dead because of sin"......You'll get a new one, that is made for the Born again Spirit.

I Hope Jesus comes today, as i want my new body, and i want to go home.
Im tired of this earth....this world...>Its so evil, its so hateful, its so against God and Christ.

One final question remains to be answered. If 1 John 1:9 is not a verse for restoration to fellowship,

If God does not charge you with sin, then how can what that isnt charged to you cause "fellowship" to be broken?

2 Corinthians 5:19

Also,

We are brought into Fellowship, with God, (born again) because of The Cross of Christ that pays for all our sin.
Not because we are good enough..
We were saved while we were "YET SINNERS". "ungodly"....
This means that Jesus's Blood and DEATH is the only means that God gave to us, so that God could Accept us.

John 14:6

God takes us into His family because of the CROSS of CHRIST.......not because we are good or bad.
Its the Cross of Christ that allows GOD to have us and keep us.
That's it.

Welcome to : Salvation
Its a " GIFT"

What does that mean?
It literally and eternally means that The same Blood of Jesus and Death of Christ, that caused GOD to be at PEACE with you, is still and always the only Reason you have fellowship with God or peace with God today, and forever.

If 2 Corinthians 5:19 and Romans 4:8, teach, (Paul) that God does not charge you for your sin.......because Jesus has them all....then a person who is confessing what God does not charge against you, ....is not doing anything except trying to get rid of their guilt trip.

Oh no, it's much more than that! Confession is the expression of intent to stop sinning, and to renew a life of righteousness. Of course, a "guilt trip" is involved as well. We *should* feel guilty when we sin. But neither should we stew in our guilt beyond measure.

When we confess, before God, that we recognize where we got off the path, and indicate we wish to get back on the path, we are forgiven for having gotten off the path. It means that a proper relationship with God can be reestablished based on the fact God will not allow the failure to prevent the reconnection.

Yes, the atonement took place in the past. But the forgiveness, to reestablish a good relationship between God and the Christian, must take place in the present!

This is not a contradiction. God does charge sin against us! As far as eternal salvation, the atonement has settled the question of the ability of sin to keep us from Eternal Life. But sin can still affect our relationship with God *today!*
Reader..

In 1 John 1.9 John is talking to *believers!* 1 John was written to believers. It was not an evangelical tract!

1 John 1.9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

When we do commit an act of sin, it robs us of our joy-doesn't make us "un-born"
Although, for the most part, I concur with @Behold, in real time all believers are sinning, in word and thought, and as you rightly said, 1 John was written to believers.

I see a reverse form of teaching, we can now keep on sinning, at will, since all our sins have been dealt with, past, present and future, correct me if I wrong here.

That’s interesting, I see it this way, when I act in my old self / flesh...especially if I throw a tantrum, I agree,it certainly affects us and can steal our peace....I don’t ask for forgiveness though, as I’m in Christ...just my thoughts...in fact I don’t even worry about it now, I just rest in God.

And NO it doesn’t make us un- Born...absolutely not, how can we be un- Born, when we have had that spiritual birth from God,...

When we do commit an act of sin,

I'll try to be back later.
I wanted to respond before im otta' here for a while.

A "sin"......Is for the born again, just a work of the flesh..

See, here is that part of the New Covenant that isn't taught because there is a FAMINE of Truth in these "end times"....., and that is why born again CHRISTians can't understand.... that they dont have sin.
Too few real teachers and too many ministries that are just there for NOTHING...

See, i just taught in a previous post.... that we dont confess what God does not charge to us..

But there is a reason, other than Jesus being made sin for us, and we are the 'Righteousness of God in Christ" that ends all that "confessing".

Notice..... we can't have sin, and also be "the Righteousness OF GOD.....in Christ".
That would be impossible.
God created us to be born again, after Jesus dealt with all our sin.

And we know we are "Made righteous", or God could not have us........we could not be Joined to God as "in Christ', "one with God", unless we have been "made righteous".

So, we see that Jesus has our sin 2ooo yrs ago..., and we have God's righteousness for eternity, = that is "the Gift of Righteousness"...but there is one more reason we dont confess.

Its this..

A.) "you are NOT under THE LAW, but under Grace".

"Christ has redeemed the born again from the CURSE of THE LAW".

And what is that curse?
The curse is........... that the LAW defines your carnal behavior as SIN, before God.

So, when the LAW can't do that ever again, , then what you do, can't be defined as a sin, as there is no Dominion of the LAW over you in place to define it.

The born again are "not UNDER the LAW...but UNDER Grace".

See that?

Its like this......."where there is NO LAW, there is no TRANSGRESSION".

The born again, exist in a Spiritual Place (The Kingdom of God) that has No Moses Law or 10 Commandments in it.
So, they can't define us or our deeds, any more.

"Christ is THE END OF THE LAW, for Righteousness"..

See that?

He is the END of the Law......and we the born again are "IN CHRIST" for eternity in the Kingdom of God, where the Law has no authority or dominion to define us, ever again.
