Hi everyone,

I’ve been thinking a lot about how food is mentioned throughout the Bible and how it can influence our daily lives. I’d love to start a discussion about:

  • Foods mentioned in Scripture and their significance
  • Dietary practices in Biblical times and what we can learn from them today
  • How our faith influences the way we choose, prepare, and share food
  • Favorite healthy or simple recipes inspired by faith or Biblical principles

What foods do you include in your meals as a reflection of your faith? How do you see food connecting with spiritual practice in your life?

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and experiences!

Hi @ellamurray, I moved your thread to the appropriate forum as I see that you are also a muslim and the welcome center is basically for people who are new and want to introduce themselves. Not really a discussion area. May I ask, are you are foodie? :clmSmlx

Welcome to the forum.

For those who are no longer under the old covenant my God made with my spiritual ancestors, all foods are clean to eat.

Faith and Food: Exploring Biblical Eating Practices

I guess it depends on how big your bible is; a small one you could munch in a few mouthfuls with cornflakes and milk. A big one, on the other hand might need a full roast. hmmx1:

Well, everyone in the southern United States fried everything and ate lard biscuits and gravy and lived into their 90's. So, food has no bearing on longevity, exercise does. I live in the bible belt, we eat.

In the Bible Jesus Christ says that food is God's word. Jesus says that those who work hard at eating never benefit.

matthew 4:4
But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

The Gospel of Luke 4:4
And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.

John 6:27
Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed.
