Old topic, but I'm bumping it.
Recently moved and since my last apartment included free cable and wi fi, and my new place doesn't, I haven't seen tv in ages.
Is it still stupid ??
Anywhoo....... When I did watch, I loved Scrubs, Futurama, Man Vs. Food, Tanked (based here in Vegas), and I know I'm gonna get a lot of flack for this, but my guilty pleasure was Here Comes Honey Boo Boo.
I know, I know. They had a lot of bodily function humor in it, but what made me love it so much was the love they have for each other. They are very family oriented, and a lot, if not, all of the activities centered around keeping the children busy and together. "We're just building memories," mama June would always say. And that's true. My family didn't talk to each other and were very distant and cold. I guess that's what had me so mesmerized by this show. I loved how the kids were setting a better example than the adults by bugging them to get married, so they did. For fornication is a sin.
Another show that was a guilty pleasure of mine was Hardcore Pawn. It was a reality show set in a Detroit Pawn Shop, and it was more like a zoo to tell you the truth. It was kind of like watching an instruction video on how not to behave, for a lot of the customers that were focused on were...... uhm........ not nice people. A train wreck.....
This show is not to be confused with Pawn Stars. The one that really took off in popularity, and the customers were..... uhm...... normal. So the emphasis was on the items that were brought in.
I actually lived on the same street as this store a few months ago, less than five minutes away, and so passed by it everyday on my way to work. There was always a line outside of tourists waiting to get in.
