I just stumbled upon your question. I'm sorry I did not see it earlier. I am equally sorry that as far as I can tell, no one tried to give you an answer.

It has to do with position of the sun.

If the earth is flat and the sun is 90 million miles away, the entire surface of the earth should be under daylight at the same time.
Which I think is the point you were trying to make.

The flat earth model is geocentric, placing earth at the center of the cosmos. The flat earth model presumes a local sun, moon and stars, placed within the firmament just as declared by Gods Holy Word. The stars, with Polaris at their center circle above the earth in a clockwise rotation, as has been commonly observed throughout the ages. The sun and moon, or "great lights" as they are referred to in genesis also circle above the earth in a similar clockwise rotation, much like the hour and minute hands on the face of a clock. They are nearly identical in size and the same distance above our heads, as one can clearly see just by looking at them. The sun is close enough that you can literally feel its heat upon your skin, and the closer it gets to you the hotter gets. If the sun were 90 million miles away, we would feel the same amount of heat from the sun at full sunrise as we do just before sunset. But this is not our experience, the sun approaches from the east and departs into the west and we can feel its warmth as it passes over head, this is even true in the winter months when the sun is further from our latitude. The sun and moon are visibly much smaller than the earth. When the sun passes above the earth it illuminates the portion of the earth beneath it, just as a flashlight would. Because the earth is much larger than the sun, and the sun is much closer to the earth than we are told, its light can only be seen at certain times of day depending upon our location and its position in the sky. As the sun continues its clockwise rotation around the earth it slowly shifts its latitude from north to south and back again, giving us the seasons. Its dark in Greenland and sunny in South Africa because the sun is much closer to South Africa, its not rocket science.

Please allow me to bring something very important to your attention. You do not observe two great lights in the sky of vastly different size or distance. You observe two lights in the sky that are identical in size and very near to you. You are "taught" that one is 200,000 miles away, and the other is 90 million miles away, but that is not what you observe. Likewise, you observe the sun approaching from the east, passing above your head and moving away into the west. You do not feel the earth move, you have no sense whatsoever that you are standing on a moving surface, or that you are spinning through space, travelling in five different directions at the same time at millions of miles per hour. You feel as though you are standing upon solid ground. So answer me this. Why do you no longer trust your own observations? Who taught you that you could not trust your own five sense? And what might be their reasons, for doing so? Please don't respond with, the scientists of course. Allow yourself the freedom to think for yourself, and ask those questions again. How did I come to the place where I no longer trust my own observations? Who would ever want me to believe that I was a meaningless speck of clay drifting through infinite space, that my ancestors were apes, that God does not exist, that's its all random and meaningless and will one day end with the explosion of the sun and we will simply drift back into the nothingness from which we came? Who? And for what purpose?

I have heard that from Ecuador, the North Star can be seen. Idk about Argentina. I would think that being that far south, it might be difficult unless you have a very high powered zoom. BUT ...a compass works in Argentina, does it not?

Learning Greek at 60 years old, hiking the Pacific Crest trail start to finish, building a comfortable off grid homestead with no power tools other than a chainsaw, not seeing a doctor in twenty years or taking a single shot and yet somehow remaining as healthy as a horse, realizing from a very young age that pretty much everyone in government, academia, and their mass media mockingbirds, most preachers and most modern theologians are completely full of horse manure, 4 inch groupings at 30 yards with iron sites and a short barrel, and last but not least, the acquired good sense to understand that Gods Holy Word is 100% accurate and trustworthy, now those my friend are things worth bragging about.

The answer to your two additional questions, is the same answer I already provided. South Africa and Russia are a very long ways away from one another. The sun is making its winter circuit, it is far away from the northern latitudes. Later this month it will have reached its furthest point of southern latitude and slowly begin its gradual circular ascent into the north.

Canada and Argentina are also very far apart, Canada being much closer to the geographic center of the earth, which Polaris sits directly above. Argentina is too far away from this geographic center to view the pole star. Its all about perspective. It has nothing to do with being on globe.
