Many things in the bible actually happened but were written down as ensamples and spiritual teachings for us. Part of "rightly dividing" the scriptures involves seeing/dividing where ,the Lord is speaking literally or allegorically or both at the same time.

Silly. One can look at the horizon and see the curvature. And especially when you look out at the ocean.

How do you "see curvature" when the very claim is that you can't see it?

"Look, we can't see anymore, therefore, curvature!"

But this very law seems to be explained by basic perspective. Things get smaller the further away they are, until they all mash together in a vanishing point - the horizon.

The earth is said to be a sphere, not a cylinder. So when you look out at the ocean, do you see curvature going the other way, too, from peripheral to peripheral?

Yes, the things that happened, happened...there are literal things and events that represent things in allegory. But not everything written is literal at all. Pillars that the earth is set upon in scripture is not talking at all about literal pillars like the pylons underneath an office building....it is alluding to the rock beneath the surface of the earth, and is spiritual language speaking of the pillars of Wisdom. The earth was created by and founded upon God's Wisdom (which is so glorifying to Him)....as I pointed out those scriptures. We may look at the miles of literal rock beneath our feet and see how that is an allegory for Christ, the Rock, the foundation stone...who is Wisdom.

The example that you gave........there is the scripture in Malachi that says the sun will rise with healing in his wings........that is not talking about the literal sun at all.. .but is allegorical spiritual language for Christ rising and healing people. Jesus in speaking about leaven in the NT was not talking about literal leaven at all. There are lots of examples in scripture where what is written is not meant to be taken literally at all.

I watched it, turned out to be more like 12 minutes. I'd like the globe earthers here to thoroughly address this video.

Namely the issues like: The apparent bubbles, green screen glitches, and hidden harnesses/strings on astronauts in NASA videos. Also, the apparent footage of Apollo astronauts faking the crescent of the earth. Oh, and also the inconsistent shadows from the moon footage.

Sister, I take it that what the Lord is really extensively speaking on is spiritual truth. This world is temporal and passing away and is not even our real home.....we are just strangers passing through here.....so I don't feel it is that important to us as believers. We are to fix our eyes on things above...the invisible, not the visible. Other than that we may have a natural curiosity and interest in earthly things......and to me, what science uncovers, when they are correct about something, it all glorifies the utterly stupefying genius of God. The bible does say knowledge would increase in the last days, so I don't think everything scientific is necessarily all lies.

Why did the Jews and Christians believe that the world was flat and the sun and moon and stars moved around it? Why did they believe the world was on a fixed foundation? And why did sailors worry about sailing off the end of the world?

It wasn’t just the Jews and Christians; it was a common belief of the time period. And you will see a lot of references to “ the ends of the world and ends of the earth” The phrase mean something entirely different to us because we know the planet is round but, back then it was a fear…..of falling off the ends of the world….particularly for sailors.

The scriptures detail the earth stationary and flat and on a foundation.

According to these scriptures the earth has a foundation….and it was set on pillars that could be shaken but the earth could not move and the sun and moon moved around it….and if an object was tall enough it could be seen from the four corners of the earth because the earth was flat….and it had corners….and the sun and moon can stop traveling around the flat earth…. and heaven has windows.

Right on! What is made manifest in this world, is made in parable to those things in heaven. As parables go, the object is most commonly not the subject, but a mere example.
