No, Westshore beach in Napier. In those days I would mix surf life-saving competitions with board riding. Was in the boat crew that competed once in Piha I think in 1970.

The sun is out and it is supposed to go up to 60* today !

I sure hope it will continue to warm up, spring sure has been cold over here....

Well, its quiet now ! But half a hour ago it was very loud , the children home school

and they were up on a break , and were having fun [but not me ] they were fighting and

yelling at each other "horsing around" ...... they enjoyed it, but I was trying to do some

posting.. on the computer.... so I go up and slammed my door shut, it did not bother them.

At all !!! They kept having there fun.......

I've been looking at this thread, and cannot think of one fun "interesting" fact about me.

Maybe the thread should be 'what strange fact about you!' LOL There are probably many.

More hidden stuff about me...

Big history buff. Want to know more anout the middle ages, but I am pretty sharp on the civil war and early america.

I love wine. I make drinking it an event. An event religiously and otherwise.

I said I like cycling. But any athletic event is fun. By fun I mean I plan to win. Competing hard is a passuon of mine.

I have no music ability, but love fine music. Especially classical music and cultural music.

I have a hidden talent. I have given that to God. No one else knows. But I regularly do it and let no one else see it. God gave me much.... But one thing I share with him.

See, you are an interesting character...I am a boring type of person.
One that just enjoys gardening and beautiful gardens of others.
I love one hour in bed at night with a good book ( other than the bible)
...our very first dear old pastor would be horrified about that!!

At 76 I find that more and more I 'live life' through my children's lives and grandchildren. Two weddings of grandchildren this summer , which I enjoy hearing about ..all the prep, dresses etc.
So I find my own life is shrinking and life 'goes on' around me.

I remember my old dad at 90 saying..."here I sit almost invisible to anyone..after 90 years I have many wise answers , but nobody is asking questions, so they die with me. "

Sometimes my husband and I feel very much like my old dad. While all the rest of the family are busy.
But, like Dave and I were saying last night. We have no regrets, we have lived a very colourful life. Packed a lot into out 76 and 80 years and the 57 married years...'no regrets' is a wonderful place to 'live'. :)

I used to love going for a bike ride for a long time.... and always found my way home.
Now I would be lost in 5 min......

I love making and eating apple pie !

Have not done that in over 10 years..... golly, gee, yep.. old age.

I agree, I do not cook like I used to...my hubby likes to do the cooking! :)
So there are some good things about being retired. Ha!!

One thing "about me" is that I am shrinking! LOL
I used to be 5'3" Now I am only 5'1"
At this rate....I will soon be short enough to walk under the table without banging my head!

Haha! Not sure about the big brain...mine I am sure is very small ....my only comfort is that Dave has shrunk too...he's lost and inch and a half in hieght ..he is 80 now...but he's as fit as a fiddle ( stupid phrase) Never takes any pills for anything.
His energy amazes me. No one believes that he is 80.

We've had a good run....
