Hello there,
In the light of the tremendous fires that have raged, and are raging in the USA and that have also wreaked havoc in Australia. Have sceptics regarding global warming had to re-evaluate their thinking on this issue?
With the decreasing population of creatures on our planet because of the loss of their natural habitat, caused by deforestation and the encroachment of man. The increase in the rise of the water in the oceans caused by the ice caps melting. The increasing problem with refugees fleeing war, famine, flood, seeking safety and a chance to live their lives peacefully, and without fear. The effect of the global pandemic on economies throughout the world. There are so many issues arising, can people continue to bury their heads in the sands, refuse to look at the causes and consequences, and not seek to find the means of combating these effects on a global scale, by cooperation between nations.
Any thoughts.
In Christ Jesus
Chris
As I have said before, I reckon a lot of the warming is actually city centralized, in and around cities, where a lot of pollution is being generated.
But then I just saw
@Giuliano post about the permafrost melting, I did not realize the oil spill was caused as a result of permafrost melting.
As for the remote arctic circle and Antarctica, we still don't have much recorded weather temperatures throughout history, weather stations around the world are still quite new compared to the age of the earth.
Here in Australia, snow has melted rather fast this year compared to previous years and the overall snow depth hasn't been all that good this year compared to previous years, snow seasons have been up and down though.
The Snowy Hydro station keeps good historical record of snow depths back to 1954 high in the Aussie alps.

Is global warming real? I don't 100% know, but I cannot deny that pollution does play a factor in popping up temperatures a bit, but in the recent history of weather recording it does seem to be.
Also deforestation also can result in a hotter temperature. When you have a canopy of trees over you, it is cooler.
The Bible even tells us in the last chapter of Jonah.
Jonah 4:5-8
So Jonah went out of the city and sat on the east side of the city. There he made himself a shelter and sat under it in the shade, till he might see what would become of the city. And the Lord God prepared a plant and made it come up over Jonah, that it might be shade for his head to deliver him from his misery. So Jonah was very grateful for the plant. But as morning dawned the next day God prepared a worm, and it so damaged the plant that it withered. And it happened, when the sun arose, that God prepared a vehement east wind, and the sun beat on Jonah's head, so that he grew faint. Then he wished death for himself, and said "It is better for me to die than to live."
In these verses, we see that yes God does have control over the weather, but you can also see what difference the plant providing shade makes.
When there is deforestation, that shelter, that shade goes, which leads to colder mornings and hotter days. Also to mention trees also provide oxygen and hold moisture.
Of course though as others have mentioned, undergrowth does need to be cleared too, why are our forests getting so clogged?
In Australia could it be the culling of brumbies? That's not helping clear up the undergrowth in Australia, and animals are needed to graze and eat clear that undergrowth.
Or maybe more people need to collect the undergrowth as firewood?
As we know more people used to keep warm by a fire, not too long ago a large percentage of the world used to cook on fire, more people had livestock, there are still large number of livestock today, but they are not as widespread as it would seem. 150 years ago, even people in little mining villages had horses. And then we can also say, maybe people should be living more spread out across the land, instead of so many people living in the city.
So it's about finding the right balance, taking care of the land and not abusing the land for large profits, but using only what's needed as it should be.
