The actual evidence is that man has changed the calendar a lot.OK, so you don't base your assertion on any actual evidence.
To have love for God and love for others.
The actual evidence is that man has changed the calendar a lot.
That's a FACT.
Read the rest of the postBut how has that changed the continuity of the weekly cycle?
Which for some is Saturday and others Sunday. What difference does it make what the seventh day of the week is called? The seventh day of the week is the seventh day of the week.
Which for some is Saturday and others Sunday.
Only if one is unfamiliar with the numbering of the days which if there are any questions over, one could ask the Jews.....even in the face of the numbering of the days being stealthily changed around the world. Have you noticed this?Which for some is Saturday and others Sunday.
"Can't we please find a loophole to get away with disobeying God?"If the above is true, can we render Matthew 28:1 to read, "In the end of the sabbaths, as it began to dawn towards the first of the sabbaths... ?"
I'm sayin'.A closed mind gathers no knowledge
Some people think it's very important that Saturday be our sabbath. I'm trying to argue that it's okay for Sunday to be our sabbath. But again, what difference does it make what you call it? Call it 'Bob' and it's still the seventh day.
Why would we ask the Jews?Only if one is unfamiliar with the numbering of the days which if there are any questions over, one could ask the Jews.....even in the face of the numbering of the days being stealthily changed around the world. Have you noticed this?
Define "prove," (I guessNo, I'm just asking you to prove to me that it IS the last day of the week.
To prove something, show where God said it was so.Define "prove," (I guess:) because, in the legal (beyond reasonable doubt) sense, I'm not sure it's possible. However, there is overwhelming evidence to substantiate it. Why are we playing games? History testifies that the day of the week called "Saturday" is the Sabbath, which is the 7th day of the week. The only reason (in this environment) to believe otherwise is if one is trying to excuse oneself from God's requirements (which is why He has preserved the weekly cycle so well in history). :)
No one believes that Sunday is the Sabbath anymore. That ship has sailed (in the scholarly sense). It is scheduled to make a fierce return, though. When everything really starts to fall apart, and the Sunday law is passed in a misguided gesture to appease God, remember that the first place you heard about it was right here. :)Some people think it's very important that Saturday be our sabbath. I'm trying to argue that it's okay for Sunday to be our sabbath.
Again, there is no iron-clad proof. God doesn't work that way. His service requires faith based on evidence. And between history, world-wide language, and Exodus 20:8-11, there's plenty enough evidence for this poor sinner. To prove something, show where God said it was so.
Who would know better? Some things are obvious unless one is looking for a loophole. Why would we ask the Jews?
