Guilty Before Proven Innocent?

I was watching this video yesterday and although I've got to admit that this girl brings off some bad vibes, I was reading the comment section and why is it that everybody automatically assumes that she's guilty and lying and not being sincere? I really don't get why people just go ahead and jump to conclusions.

40 years for a 16-year-old seems really extreme. I don't personally get good feelings about her. I think part of it is because she doesn't really show any emotion about it. No sign of remorse or really much about emotion about having been a victim. She's all smiles in a time that should be really difficult for her. Her body language makes me wonder if she has sociopathic tendencies or if she has just shut down.

I really don't get why people just go ahead and jump to conclusions.

It is because the rule of law has been totally trashed by the people who are supposed to uphold and enforce the laws.
