I just gave this more thought
Your answer to everything is that the other person is always losing....
There's no Christian debate here
You're just nuts!!!
And, I'm NOT the one changing the subject.
The SAD part is that this is YOUR thread - and your'e still running away . . .

Try Hebrews 13:6;
“So we may boldly say: ‘The LORD is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?’” this verse represents confidence in God, divine helper, fearlessness, and security.

Rollo I believe you totally have the wrong idea here.
It does not mean that if we had trust and faith in God, we will not be hurt, attacked, raped or whatever...

Back in the Congo ( Africa who are too young to remember) Simba uprising Dr Helen Roseveare was a British missionary 1953-1975. She prayed Psalm 91 continually as the soldiers advanced on the mission station...
Her own word are:- QUOTE

< During the Simba Uprising in the Congo , I was raped twice. Government soldiers came to my bungalow, ransacked it, then grabbed me. I was beaten and savagely kicked, losing my back teeth through the boot of a rebel soldier. They broke my glasses, so I could not see to protect myself from the next blow. Then, one at a time, two army officers took me to my own bedroom and raped me. They dragged me out into a clearing, tied me to a tree, and stood around laughing. And while I was there, beaten and humiliated and violated and ridiculed, someone discovered in the bungalow the only existing hand-written manuscript of a book I had been writing about God’s work in the Congo over an eleven-year period. They brought it out, put it on the ground in front of me, and burned it.” Etc etc end quote >

Well reading and praying and trusting in Psalm 91 did not save her body! It saved her soul from harm ( He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence..."

In her book she tells much more than the snippet above.
How they stood around her while she was being raped...
..but the POWER of the Lord caused her soul to be saved all this time it was happening to her body...her soul was safe it was hidden in Him.

Rollo, you talk a lot about us "not trusting the Lord "...trust and believing does not to guarantee keep your body safe. But in this thread you seem to be implying that.

Hey Breadman, ever read the Bible?
Try Hebrews 13:6;
“So we may boldly say: ‘The LORD is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?’”
this verse represents confidence in God, divine helper, fearlessness, and security.
Each of these can be a teaching in and of themselves.
But you've never heard of them, have you?
That's the romanist church for you.

You have strong faith Rudolpho...Jesus DID say we could move mountains...according to even a mustard seed sized faith. You do inspire me sir. And, love your sense of humor-you have me actually laughing out loud for real! lol

I'm never the only one left in the room.
I've got JESUS!

Again you miss the point. The issue here was your wife, not you.
And really, what do you expect Jesus to do for you or your wife? See my post #165

It make me painfully aware that YOU can't stick to a topic when you're losing an argument . . .

And I have to agree...diversion tactics..when losing an argument= change the subject and attack...LOL

I cannot believe that all those here who raise their arms in worship...do not expect to have to shoot to kill while doing their duty.

It is true that the terms such as "fear not, be anxious for nothing, fret not, are legion in the Bible. I am a pacifist at heart and abhor violence of any kind but I will say that, if something is about to happen to any human being who is helpless...I would not hesitate to step in if I could.

"I tell you, my friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body and after that can do no more. But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear him who, after your body has been killed, has authority to throw you into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear him."

How do you interpret this?

These stories, though true, are a dime a dozen, as are the stories of those who have escaped such horrors.
So what does it all mean?
That woman should have been carrying a machine gun?

I honestly don't know what I think about it Rollo. All I know is that if a loved one were being attacked I would do everything in my power -while praying and trusting Him- without fear!) to stop the attacker and yes, if there were a weapon in reach you can believe I would use it. I'm sorry my friend...just how I feel about it. :)

Think about this one Breadman.
You don't want to be here.

:D Rudy is being a bad boy again.
Some people live life in a constant state of strife and staunch seriousness, must be very tiring. We ALL need to lighten up sometimes and just laugh!

Sorry to hear things are so bad in your country. Indeed, once the guns are taken away, there will be an increase in lawlessness. Have you considered a crossbow? Or, are they illegal also.

Stranger
The guns have been taken away, but you can get a gun licence but you can not have a semi automatic, but you have to have a lot of nonsense to go through to get a licence and then be in a club and have to go X of times a year.
But I know one idiot down the road that should not have a gun and he got a licence, he is mentally unstable in my opinion and wants me to show him how to shoot out in the sticks and I will not because he is an idiot.
I have had people who were in the Army come out shooting and they were just that hopeless that I could not believe it and even out riding bush tracks just hopeless at navigating.

I have another lefty mate up the other end of the street that is that gutless that he says he would shoot people for just stupid childish reasons, he is upset that he got kicked out of his government job and only has $2 million to his name he is destitute and no one would employ a bludger like that and he would only try to sue anyone at the drop of a hat, if he could and that's the gutlessness of people nowadays and if anyone upsets them they can not handle it at all.
A Priest came to do a documentary on Islam and went to talk to them about the child molester they worship and was asking questions like did you know this and that about their religion, well the cops came and charged that priest for saying the truth and are trying to kick him out of our country and this mate seen it on TV and said that he would of shot that priest for what he did.
Now the priest was only telling the truth. but old socialist mate is not interested in that but is angered because he upset them.
But we have people here that are radical Islamist who are total criminals with a list as long as your arm, just like the Islamic moron who held people hostage in a Sydney Café that so many got shot in, I was so shocked to see all that what he got away with, that I wanted the PM to be sacked on the spot for such nonsense to be allowed, but as such idiots have backing of wealthy Moslems for lawyers and our government are in love with Islam or to scared of them and their influence and all there money, that they dare not to act against them.
But a Christian popes his head up saying the truth and facts and they come at him with everything they can.
Now old mate socialist is totally Political Correct it's his god that he worships totally and he knows that our Nation will become Communist and will be controlled by Islam totally in the future the way it's going, but he does not care because he says he will is on his way out in a box by then. I say the day may come earlier then you think bro and he knows he lost his job because of good for nothing malicious bludgers like him destroyed there own cushy government jobs in the end, because such was costing to much that the gov had to sell it off to private contractors and now he has to sit about complaining that there socialist gov shafted them in the end and that the gov are after his money in taxes to pay for all the drugged up dole bludgers and not to mention the illegal immigrants that have the red carpet rolled out for them.
The thing with him is that he is not brain dead but brainwashed by all that communist union type mob he worked with and he can't see past the traitorous lie he lead and he can't get out of that can of worms because he is just to weak to brake free. and I believe that he and such workers were subjected to brainwashing tec for so long that Political Correctness controls his whole thought process that he can't think for himself. he is a doddering type that can not make decisions for himself because he has always had all such always done for him by unions and work place orders and beyond that his brain is weak as, nice enough bloke apart from the brainwashing he has be subjected to, and I would say that that's why half of the USA and UK etc in the world are all so pathetic that they can not see the threat of what Islam and Socialism truly is because they are brainwashed by Political Correctness just like the Nazis and Communist were until it was to late that the morons controlled everyone, you must follow there way or you become an enemy of the State and dealt with, because people who can think for themselves are a threat to Satanic criminals as such who want to lord it over all.

I'll tell you what - I could live with my self a LOT easier if I had to kill somebody who was raping or murdering my family than if I just sat there and did nothing and let it happen. That has NOTHING to do with being a true follower of Christ. It has to do with abdicating your duty as your family's protector.

As I stated before - Jesus talked about protecting one's own - not feeding them to the wolves (Luke 22:36-37).
You should KNOW better . . .
I am sure that if a Nations army came to Australia and said that all they wanted to do is rape our woman and Sodomite our children our government would do nothing, but if they wanted our money there would be hell to pay, but then again our treasury system is full of hot air and criminals control it all, such is truly out of the hands of our people and so such can be crashed at will, because Satanist go control over that years ago and any USA President who tried to deal with them was shot.
