Part of Florida's don't say gay law was the provision that educators and counselors has no choice but to out any LGBT child to their parent. Even if there is every reason to believe that such outing would endanger the child. In some Wiccan traditions, by Samhain, the Goddess has entered her incarnation of Crone. She is the Old One, the earth mother, the wise one we turn to when we need advice. She teaches us that sometimes we must let go in order to move on. The God, at Samhain, is the Horned One, the stag of great antlers, the god of the wild hunt. He is the animal that dies so that we may eat, and the grains and corn that once lived in the field before our harvest. We can honor these late-fall aspects of both the Goddess and the God in one ritual.

Cast a Circle​

Begin by casting a circle, if your tradition requires it. Prior to starting the ceremony, place three sheaves of corn or wheat around the ritual space. You'll also need a statue or other image of the God and of the Goddess at the center of your altar. Around the statues, place five candles -- red and black to represent the dark aspect of the Goddess, green and brown to symbolize the wild God, and white for the hearth and home.
Place a plate of dark bread, enough for each person present, near the center of the altar, along with a cup of wine or cider. Circle the altar. The youngest person present will act as the Handmaiden, and the oldest as the High Priest (HP) or High Priestess (HPs). If you're performing this rite as a solitary, simply take on both parts.

The HPs lights the red and black candles and says:​

A pair of candles is lit
in honor of the Goddess.
She is Maiden and Mother throughout the year
and tonight we honor her as Crone.

The HPs lights the brown and green candles, saying:​

A pair of candles is lit
in honor of the God.
He is wild and fertile and animal
and tonight we honor him as the Horned God.
The Handmaiden takes the bread and walks the circle with the plate, allowing each person to tear off a chunk. As they do so, she says: May the blessings of the Goddess be upon you. The cup of wine or cider is passed around, and each person takes a sip. As they do, the Handmaiden should say: May the blessings of the God be upon you.

The Handmaiden then lights the fifth candle, for the hearth, saying:​

This candle is lit
in honor of hearth and home.
The mother and father, the Goddess and God,
watch over us tonight as we honor them.

The HPs then takes over, saying:​

We light these five candles
for the powerful Goddess
and her mighty horned consort, the God,
and for the safety of home and hearth.
On this, the night of Samhain,
when the Goddess is a wise Crone,
and the God is a wild stag,
we honor them both.

The Handmaiden says:​

This is a time between the worlds,
a time of life and a time of death.
This is a night unlike any other night.
Ancient ones, we ask your blessing.
Goddess, great Crone, mother of all life,
we thank you for your wisdom.
Horned God, master of the wild hunt, keeper of the forest,
we thank you for all that you provide.

Make an Offering​

At this time, the rest of the group may also say thanks. If you wish to make an offering to the God and Goddess, now is the time to place it upon the altar.

Once all offerings have been made, and thanks given, take a moment to meditate on the new beginnings of Samhain. Consider the gifts that the gods have given you over the past year, and think about how you might show them your gratitude in the coming twelve months. As the old year dies, make room in the new year for new things in your life. You may not know yet what's coming, but you can certainly imagine, dream and hope. Tonight, this night between the worlds is the perfect time to imagine what things may come.

End the ritual in the way called for by your tradition.

Tips​

• Decorate your altar with symbols of the God -- antlers, acorns, pine cones, phallic symbols -- and representations of the Goddess, such as red flowers, cups, pomegranates, etc.
• If your tradition honors a specific pair of male and female deities, feel free to substitute their names in this ritual wherever it says God or Goddess.

The fields are bare, the leaves have fallen from the trees, and the skies are going gray and cold. It is the time of year when the earth has died and gone dormant. Every year on October 31 (or May 1, if you're in the Southern Hemisphere) the Sabbat we call Samhain presents us with the opportunity to once more celebrate the cycle of death and rebirth. For many Pagan traditions, Samhain is a time to reconnect with our ancestors, and honor those who have died. This is the time when the veil between our world and the spirit realm is thin, so it's the perfect time of year to make contact with the dead.

Rituals and Ceremonies​

Depending on your individual spiritual path, there are many different ways you can celebrate Samhain, but typically the focus is on either honoring our ancestors, or the cycle of death and rebirth. This is the time of year when the gardens and fields are brown and dead. The nights are getting longer, there's a chill in the air, and winter is looming. We may choose to honor our arncestors, celebrating those who have died, and even try to communicate with them. Here are a few rituals you may want to think about trying for Samhain–and remember, any of them can be adapted for either a solitary practitioner or a small group, with just a little planning ahead.

• Start off by decorating your altar with symbols of the Samhain season, representing symbols of death, the harvest season, and tools of divination. You may also want to incorporate some Samhain prayers into your rituals, or perform a quiet Samhain Ancestor Meditation.
• Plan your ritual festivities with ceremonies that celebrate Celebrate the Harvest's End or honor the ancestors of your family and community. You can also perform a God and Goddess Ritual for Samhain or do a ritual that marks the Cycle of Life and Death.
• If you have young Pagans in your family, there are different ways you can celebrate Samhain with kids, including planning a family Samhain Cemetery Visit.
• Finally, if you're involved in your community, consider a ritual to Honor the Forgotten Dead.

Samhain Magic, Divination and Spirit Work​

For many Pagans, Samhain is a time to do magic that focuses on the spirit world. Learn how to properly conduct a seance, how to do some Samhain divination workings, and the way to figure out what a spirit guide is really up to!

Samhain has a rich history, going back a long time. This is the season of Cailleach Bheur, the Hag in Scottish folklore, and a time when the many gods and goddesses of death and the underworld are recognized. However, keep in mind that Samhain is the name of the holiday, and not a Celtic death god.

But in one school... one mother objected to teaching abstinence to her daughter.
And my friend was not allowed to any longer in that school.

I know... I digress.

So teaching anything perverted and keeping it from the parents is just fine. But teaching, as God has commanded us, is wrong.

You know exactly what I am saying. It is the adults of every walk that are leading the kids into thinking about the unnatural use of the body.

The kids did not find this stuff out themselves....

There are a miniscule minority of adults with gender dysphoria.... And I would bet a donut against an eclair that some time we are going to find out all of this screwed up mess in people that is coming abundantly forward these days is because of parental drug abuses.... screwing up their insides so the genes get all expletive up.

Kids are like sponges... they absorb everything they see and hear....

IF A CHILD IS IN DANGER OF PARENTAL ABUSE THEN PUT IT INTO FOSTER CARE.

Better that then to ruin a human soul for all of eternity.

I am going to say something that I haven't ever in this forum that I can remember.

I have a son that is bi-sexual and a daughter who is a lesbian. One is 20 and the other is 17. Neither their mom nor I have ever used drugs. I never touched drugs or even smoked in my life. Neither has their mom. So, I'm not sure what you're even talking about.

The above is all I will talk about them. I did not bring them into the conversation to discuss them or what I am going to do. They are my children and I support them in their decisions. They also do not live with me. They know my take on it. They know how I feel. I still support their decision to be who they are as I support other people's decisions to be who they are.

Again, this is not up for discussion!

Kids are like sponges... they absorb everything they see and hear....

About 14% of transexuals deal with gender dysphoria at some point in their lives.

And i would agree that the root of the issue is people who don't know what they are talking about spouting off nonsense like indoctrination or parental drug abuse. Kids are like sponges and when they hear hate being broadcast they soak it right up and internalize it

What we're dealing with here are seared consciences, those who forget God, do not love the truth ....have a warped idea of right and wrong, calling good "evil" and calling evil "good." The information you share is true, good and relevant, but ......casting pearls.
