I just popped back here after a while of ignoring this Thread. :)
I find that you somehow seem to be under the illusion that you "know so much about what 'tongue speakers' do, pray, or think...how can this be, as you aren't one!!! You sound as if you have lived in deepest Mongolia and are expounding upon it...but in fact you have never been to deepest Mongolia, can't speak their language and know nothing about them at all...but that doesn't stop you 'waxing eloquent' on the subject!! LOL
For those reading, since my beloved sister is refusing correction by the scripture....
I believe one can read about the errors of catholicism, check with their official Catholic catechism to confirm said errors, and know what the Catholic Church is about without being one.
Same goes for any cult in christianity.
I do not have to be a tongue speakers to know His words what tongues are for; for God to speak unto the people as prophesied. 1 Corinthians 14:21
The Catholic Church had referred to an earlier time by one of the "early church fathers" that he was using tongues as a sign that they were keeping the doctrines within the church. NOT!
Joyce Meyers used her moment when what she believed was the holy Spirit coming over her and giving her tongues as a "sign" of God calling her into the ministry. NOT!
My former neighbor across testified to reading her Bible at the kitchen table when she felt what she believed was the holy Spirit coming over her and giving her tongues and she took that as a sign as when she was saved even though she had been a believer before that moment for quite some time.
NOT!
Tongue speakers do not know what that kind of tongue is, because it comes with no interpretation, and so they keep referring to it as a sign which proves it is not of Him at all when tongues are not supposed to serve as a sign towards the already saved believers for anything, let alone proof you are receiving the Holy Ghost.
Tongues are to serve as a sign to unbelievers as they hear the gospel in their native tongue while some will not believe; 1 Corinthians 14:22
Modern tongue speakers are using tongues as a sign when any believer thinks they are receiving the Holy Spirit apart from salvation. It is not funny when no other gifts of the Spirit are obtained in that way which is why Paul said what he did about that one baptism that we all had been baptized by having that one drink of the One Spirit reproving any false teaching and false phenomenon that the Holy Spirit can be received again by a sign. 1 Corinthians 12:13
There is a supernatural tongue in the world that is just vain and profane babbling nonsense and it is not God's gift of tongues to speak unto the people.
God would call sinners out from that kind of tongue and away from their spirits and idolatry to a personal reconciled relationship through the Son.
You, as a reader, should consider why no tongue speaker with the actual God's gift of tongues are reproving that other supernatural tongue at all for God's gift of tongues could never be practiced for private use. They never do because they are doing both.. or some will claim. Thanks to Him, I discern that they do not have the actual God's gift of tongues.
The Spirit of truth would have reproved them with interpretation, but He has not when they all speak the same language and ignoring His reproofs in the KJV for why it is plainly not of Him at all when they testify to receiving a "second blessing".
Ignore the other calling for another drink of the One Spirit because it is not of Him and it never will be. There is only one drink of the One Spirit that we all had been baptized by and that had happened at our salvation when we first believed at the calling of the gospel. 2 Thessalonians 2:13-15 So rest in Jesus Christ today that you are filled as promised when you were saved.
John 6:35 And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.
Matthew 9:17 Neither do men put new wine into old bottles: else the bottles break, and the wine runneth out, and the bottles perish: but they put new wine into new bottles, and both are preserved.
