Dairy Queen has excellent burgers. I havnt been there i quite awhile.
Last time I was at a DQ they used raw beef, not frozen patties. Their burgers were what today is being marketed as smashed burgers.
Smashed raw beef rather than the pressed round or square patties most are use to.

Fresh made to order too. Delicious. Fresh produce prepared every day. It was a great place to grab a quick lunch.

I started to realise that the addiction to McDonald's, was the Devil's work!

I am feeling much more in control now - praise Jesus!

Hi there,

So this is intended as a thread in which to share the burden of being addicted to McDonald's, but also to brainstorm ways of beating the addiction.

Off the top of my head, it might help to meditate on MacDonald's food, as if it is decaying and dying - that is a Tibetan Buddhist trick, to kick over-eating in general.

Also, there is prayer: I have asked my faithful Mum a couple of times, to pray that my addiction would go away.

Part of it, is just staying clear (from McDonalds') altogether, not going in for a pancake or a piece of cheesecake.

What is your experience? There are some people, that eat it every day without fail - I don't envy them!

In my life, I haven't really eaten that much, it is just that I had a craving for it from a very early age and I reached the point where I realised "Hey, I really don't have self-control in this area of my life".

Tell me what you think? Would Jesus eat McDonald's?
No McDonalds within 40+ minutes drive here, I can see why it's addictive though, it's been a couple of years since you originally posted this, so maybe that has changed, I just realized you are also from Aus.

I know someone that had a premonition that someone would be talking about junk food, and they did! Their spirit is obviously working (to resist junk food)!

It's funny, but its like the addiction is broken into two parts: the sign by which you recognise the addiction, and the thing you imagine which triggers the response to the addiction.

It is possible to reach a point, where the temptation is generalised - like you know it is a temptation, but you don't commit any effort to think about it (it just gradually fades).

It could be that everything associated with McDonald's, needs to be eliminated!
Especially that creepy clown!

I've started to understand that the temptation to overeat McDonald's comes from the Devil.

As you can see, my conscience is very weak!

I signed up based off this thread :D

I have a serious addiction to Mcdonald’s. I was eating it daily. I’m a good 5 days clean.
I keep waiting to reach a point where I lose my taste for it. You know, the same way an adult loses their taste for candy. Talk about a struggle! I should be praying about it, actually - that occurred to me just now!

I have started telling myself "you are not addicted to McDonald's, you are tempted with duck"!

I think it's working (the whole 'don't just create a vacuum' thing is difficult).

I've had a thought that might help: I am not going to eat McDonald's unless someone is with me - if no-one is with me to eat McDonald's, I won't even think about it!

Make sense?

This started to work - but I need some way not to lapse, as soon as I think I've got it figured out!

I don't eat at mcdonald's anymore. They raised prices for no reason except that they could. They made a good profit during the pandemic being the cheapest place to eat when everyone else was losing money by raising prices. I can now cook at home cheaper than eating out and that is the reverse of how it used to be.

Not to annoy you, that I am still struggling - but it seems that I am more addicted to McDonald's in Summer (it is summer, here in Australia down south).

I don't seem to be able to put it out of my mind, without immediately saying 'its out of my mind! let's have some Maccas to celebrate!"

You understand how self-defeating that is, right?
