Okay marks, my fault. Sorry. Should have kept my mouth shut.
That's OK, I can segue, this is good!
:)
Because I think a more excellent way to "get into the Spirit"/"remain in the Spirit" is by love serving others. We want to be in the same spiritual state that Jesus was in, saying, I am never alone, the Father is always with me. To know the joy of communion with God, that communion shining light on all our life.
Now. We don't have to think that we must duplicate what Jesus did to receive what Jesus received. That's the whole point.
Jesus said that He always does what the Father wants so the Father is always with Him. But we must not believe that the Fathere is not as fully with us because we do things displeasing. Jesus gives His righteousness to us, and so He has promised, I will never leave you nor forsake you.
So we can be in this world as Jesus, walking in the Spirit, by love serving others, all things by Christ's strength in us.
To walk in the Spirit
is to serve others. That is what Jesus did. When we do, we are simply doing what we are born for. Serving others because we love them will touch, will change the deepest parts of our soul (psyche).
To choose to love others is a choice the Holy Spirit will empower. That is faith.
When we love others, we want to care for them, nurture them, to be patient with them, to want them to grow, to surpass us, to reach great heights. To remove impediments and to supply all manner of needs.
And these choices God will empower. This is His will for us.
What blows my mind is what I end up trading 'the joy of walking in the works previously ordained' for, that is, the walk not in faith, not in the Spirit, but according to the flesh.
Not just in gross sin, but in impatience. Or whatever. If I fail to pay attention to the needs of others, or forget to love them.
Because instead, it could be God empowering me in who knows what? If we are committed to loving others,
then God moves through us to do whatever He will, and in so doing, fulfills our deepest desires.
For the Apostle John, it was to see his children walk in truth. That sounds good to me!
Much love!
