It is absurd to think Paul meant the completed canon of scripture.
I certainly agree with this "assessment!"
As there are more then several (how can I say) "Written Records" that "didn't make the cut" so to speak concerning that which is considered to be "canon of Scripture."
Which to me really "delegitimizes" those "believers(?)" that consider the Holy Bible as "The INFALLIBLE Word of God!"
Meaning that, If it "isn't between those covers?"
"It's NOT of or from God!"
Which may not come off as being "absurd" to "them."
But? It IS to this poster! :gd

Yes it is, it's called COMPLETED SCRIPTURE :)
No , it's not. You are reading your opinion into the text. If it is completed scripture then knowledge must also pass away.

1 Co 13:8-10
Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away. For we know in part, and we prophesy in part. But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away

How many "prophets" can pass the Deuteronomy 18:21-22 test?

21 You may say in your heart, ‘How will we know the word which the Lord has not spoken?’ 22 When a prophet speaks in the name of the Lord, if the thing does not come about or come true, that is the thing which the Lord has not spoken. The prophet has spoken it presumptuously; you shall not be afraid of him.
There is a difference to consider during these time of "greater works." What are greater works, those within the elements and confines of this world or those of the Spirit and the Kingdom of Heaven? Which is greater? And what has Christ instructed regarding things of the Spirit, are even visible like a lame man healed and able to walk?

And when did God begin to pour out His spirit upon all flesh, before or after the miracles written in the scriptures? What then of these time should we expect, healings, fire draw down from heaven--or salvation, spiritual gifts, and unseen spiritual profits laid up in heaven? And what if God's people among the times of the gentiles, are God's hands tied that He cannot send word? And what of those things written only to be revealed until just before the end--has that all been canceled because of common or most believed doctrine held by men?

Should those who live in fear of what is possibly false, just bolt the door? Is that what people want, rather than letting God be God and have Him not do what He has always done?
