Why then are so many within the evangelical realm BUYING INTO this interfaith lie .
Cause hard as this may sound to beleive . I KNOW with no doubt its coming of satan not GOD .
And for more info on that LOOK at the key leaders of it who LIE to these religoins and say we all serve the same GOD .
JESUS HAS BEEN DENIED . THE DIRE NEED TO BELEIVE ON HIM has been DENIED . but so many are running right into it
just cause vance n trump support it . THEY have no idea
this move came of the most progressive liberal minds . That which is of anti christ
that JOHN himself warned the church was already at work , IS NOW Taking all captive . ALL not in the lambs book of life
will buy into the devils version of what HE says IS GOD and HE says IS LOVE .
for us who know it aint , WE EXPOSE IT . we must . we must do all for the sakes of this people .
SOME , some are gonna repent , but most are not gonna repent they will get worse and worse . those not in the lambs book of life
will not repent . But we must warn against it , we must do our part
and be co helpers to the truth by the POWER OF the SPIRIT OF GOD within us . some will hear , but most will not hear .
I believe God gave them a lying spirit or a liars mouth. We Christians are told wolves are among us, and antichrists are among us. they will speak the truth mixed with lies.

Luke 10 :3 - Go your way; behold, I send you out as lambs among wolves.

1 John 2:18 - Little children, it is the last hour; and as you have heard that the Antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come, by which we know that it is the last hour.

I watch the show and even like it. However, I do struggle with the great liberty it takes in extra-biblical scenes.
Examples
1) Peter thinking John the baptist was "creepy"
2)Matthew being such a semi autistic person with ADHD
3)Mary Madeline backsliding
4) Nicodemus refusing the Lord's invitation
5) Thomas being engaged

To name just a few. Anyone else watch the show? If so do you struggle with the fact that some will take it as absolute truth because they have never or will in the future read the bible?

What say you?
I think it's leaven, and should be avoided. Jenkins presents a false Jesus.

Much love!

I'm not going to pay for a streaming subscription, but I'm okay with "fleshing out" the background story. I remember a movie about Jesus called The Greatest Story Ever Told, and while the producers tried to meticulously stick with the biblical narrative (up to and including having Jesus speak in King James English), the end product was one of the most wooden portrayals of Jesus I've ever seen. Anybody who saw that would be driven away from Jesus and never want to open a Bible themselves.
However, that's not true of all endeavors:

Rather than heeding the words of CHRIST and later of the apostels and then later in the scroll of revelation .
MANY had rather heed men .
DID you know i have had at least two on this site
TELL ME i am fighting against the very gospel when i warn about calvin . AS THOUGH HE KNEW IT .
WHAT DID GOD say
WHO SO EVER WILL , LET HIM COME and drink of the waters of life freely .
THAT MEANS ITS AN OPEN INVITATION TO ALL . TO ALL . TO ALL .

Many details are absent from the Bible. These back stories in The Chosen, sort of develop the disciples characters, showing us they are common everyday people. Arguments and friction amongst the disciples would be expected when Jesus wasn't around. Even when He was, He rebuked them. Could one of them been in debt? Yes
Could a tax collector receive as much hatred in return by just about everyone? Yes. Romans squeezed every dollar out of them. We imagine them all as wonderful saints with the exception of Judas - but they were sinners like the rest of us.
We know the Pharisees were out to get Jesus and the folks in His home town, but many other instances were likely and are absent. The Insertion of a mob against him prior to his feeding thousands is expected. He delt with them with a miracle and shut them up and changed their attitudes.
I liked S3Episode 8: feeding 5,000, Wali g on water and calming the storm.
There are some 32,000 words spoken by Jesus in the four gospels. Pastors typically deliver about 12,000 words in only one hour, which means if Jesus only taught them one hour a day, that would only cover three days of material. But they were with him for 1277 days give or take times when the disciples were off doing other things, much is missing. I can imagine myself asking Him questions about everything under the sun in that amount of time that His answers would fill a thousand Bibles! Certainly we received the fundamental truths, the important things, but we can imagine much more happened and many more things were said. I like that We see Jesus preparing sovereignty the events, positioning specific disciples and sending them out for certain tasks all for His purpose. I like that it all happens exactly how it was supposed to. His entire mission wasn't left up to chance, every detail was orchestrated.
The Bible indicates some of the disciples were married and so they didn't just leave their wives for the entire 3 1/2 years. I must admit some of the relational things going on, the back stories fabricated, however creative they might have been, at times too lengthy and bored me. I thought some of the episodes could have been edited down. I preferred the episodes where Jesus was present. But the acting is good.
All in all, it makes the story more realistic and will certainly lead people to Christ.
I mostly agree Ronald, it's not badly twisted like the Hollywood version of Noah, they have simply tried to fill up some gaps that the Bible did not tell us about of what the disciples, children, etc, might or might not having been doing in between the time of the events recorded in the Bible to drag it out.

I am only up to Episode 8, Season 1, I did start watching it years ago, but did not continue until recently, I just started watching it again just a week ago or so, I am enjoying it so far, and there are some very powerful moments so far in the series, especially the episodes where the leper gets healed and they lower down the crippled man through the roof and he got healed.

I so far can definitely see how this series could lead non-Christians to Jesus wanting to find out more. And I thank God for this series, it's really well done.

12,000 words in an hour is some fast talking. It's over 3 words a second. I suspect Jesus was a careful teacher around 1.5 to 2 words a second. Still, I see your point.

I've watched all the episodes up until this year, haven't watched any of this years episodes yet, not sure I will. If God could speak to the prophet through a donkey, He can speak to the world and His saints through a TV show. I've been very touched and encouraged by some episodes, and felt very uneasy about some others.

I thought about the show a lot, and then I came to the conclusion that the real purpose behind the show was not to glorify Christ, as much as it was to push the phony Gods Chosen People narrative. And then it all made sense.
