Why would an unbeliever get baptized? If an unbeliever chooses to believe IN Jesus as his Lord and Savior he is saved BUT if an unbeliever is baptized he is just a wet unbeliever.
There have been numerous unbelievers (who attend various false religions and cults) that have been water baptized, but do not truly believe the gospel. Such people may believe "mental assent" that the death, burial and resurrection of Christ "happened" yet they do not believe unto salvation by trusting in the death, burial and resurrection of Christ as the ALL-sufficient means of their salvation. (1 Corinthians 15:1-4; Romans 1:16)Why would an unbeliever get baptized?
Why would an unbeliever get baptized?
And as long was we endour to the end, we will be saved: Matthew 24:13How to be saved (born again) and join the family of God!
Romans: Chapter 10 verse 9-10-13 GOD SAYS=
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus,
and shalt believe in your heart that God hath raised him
from the dead, thou shalt be Saved. For with the heart man
believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession
is made unto Salvation. For whosoever shall call upon the
name of the Lord shall be Saved....................
But they believe in what they are doing. There have been numerous unbelievers (who attend various false religions and cults) that have been water baptized, but do not truly believe the gospel. No, to deal with himself.Think!!! to please his mother, wife. friends =lots of reasons!!!
That is why Peter added repentance in Acts 2:38.LOL!! Wake up !! Many men have got baptized to please their nagging wife and then go right on living in their pet sins not saved!!
Baptism saves NO one!!
That is why Peter added repentance in Acts 2:38.
So, believe per Mark 16:16, then repent per Acts 2:38, and be baptized per Mark 16:16 and Acts 2:38, then....
These verses nicely accommodate each other.
We must believe in/have faith in/trust in/reliance in Jesus Christ as the ALL-sufficient means of our salvation. But they believe in what they are doing.
Because they trust in their baptism to save them (along with other works) and not in Christ alone for salvation. I was born and raised in the Roman Catholic church and had also spent some time in the church of Christ prior to my conversion, so I understand your confusion. My question stands, why would someone get baptized that does not believe?
Mark 16:16 - He who believes and is baptized will be saved (general cases without making a qualification for the unusual case of someone who believes but is not baptized) but he who does not believe will be condemned. The omission of baptized with "does not believe" shows that Jesus does not make baptism absolutely essential for salvation. Condemnation rests on unbelief, not on a lack of baptism. So salvation rests on belief. *NOWHERE does the Bible say "baptized or condemned."Surely Jesus was not so uninformed as to assume that in Mark 16:16?
Christians think Jesus meant this..."he that does not believe and is baptized...".
Jesus knew that only a genuine believers will be saved. (John 3:15,16,18; 5:24; 6:29,40,47; 11:25,26) Jesus is not surprised by false converts (who are not genuine believers) that attempt to be baptized to be saved.Fact is, Jesus KNEW only a believer would attempt to be baptized to be saved.
Again, who is baptizing unrepented unbelievers? So now you see baptizm saves NO one== the unbeliever that is baptized is just a wet unbeliever!!!
You, as I was, were unwillingly baptized as an unrepented unbelieving infants. We must believe in/have faith in/trust in/reliance in Jesus Christ as the ALL-sufficient means of our salvation.

If water baptism is absolutely required for salvation, then why did Jesus not mention it in the following verses? (3:15,16,18; 5:24; 6:29,40,47; 11:25,26). What is the one requirement that Jesus mentions 9 different times in each of these complete statements? *BELIEVES. *What happened to baptism? *Hermeneutics.
*John 3:18 - He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who (is not water baptized? - NO) does not believe is condemned already, because he has not (been water baptized? - NO) because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
Jesus knew that only a genuine believers will be saved. (John 3:15,16,18; 5:24; 6:29,40,47; 11:25,26) Jesus is not surprised by false converts (who are not genuine believers) that attempt to be baptized to be saved.
Again, who is baptizing unrepented unbelievers?
I have never seen that in 40 years.
Not only as an infant in the RCC, but also later as an adult, prior to my conversion in a different church that also taught works salvation. Repent (change of mind) precedes believe/faith. (Matthew 21:32; Mark 1:15; Acts 20:21) I know multiple people who were water baptized as adults in various churches that taught salvation by works and looking back at the time they were water baptized, realized later after their conversion that they did not truly repent and believe the gospel at the time of their previous baptism. They just previously came up out of the water as wet sinners. You, as I was, were unwillingly baptized as an unrepented unbelieving infants.
The command is to believe and repent to be qualified to be baptized for the remission of our sins (saved).
We can't use the RCC as an excuse not to be baptized as adults.
Those who don't understand that unbelievers (who profess to be believers) get baptized as well are either very naive or else they don't properly understand what it means to believe unto salvation.Head in the sand!!! Wake up!!
They just previously came up out of the water as wet sinners.
Really! Do you think Paul was giving him a homily on salvation in the middle of the night? The next two verses say:
"And they spoke the word of the Lord to him and to all that were in his house. And he took them the same hour of the night, and washed their wounds, and he was baptized at once, with all his family".
You see believe + baptism (at once).
