@Taken I hope she is doing okay; a dear Christian lady.

Agree. She is elderly and I believe living in her sons (pretty full and active) household and in a State with cold winters. Yes hope she is doing well, warm and comfortable.

Faith is a GIFT FROM God, FOR HEARING the WORD OF God.
The Word of God...IS Scripture.
Isn’t the Catholic encouraged to Hear, Read, Study, Trust the word of the Catechism?

Is the word of God is limited to scripture?

* Jesus Established “His Church”.
* Jesus IS the Head and Chief Cornerstone of “His Church”.
* Jesus “Church” IS build upon the ROCK Foundation; OF Gods Word: THAT “Jesus IS the Christ, the Son of the Living God”.
* The First to “join” WITH “Jesus Church” Foundation; OF Gods Word: THAT “Jesus IS the Christ the Son of the Living God”, were Jesus’ Chosen and Remaining Faithful Disciples.
* The ROCK IS Christ, Every Disciple of Jesus’ Adjoined “IN” Jesus’ Church become likened to stone upon stone, adding, a continuous build-ing of “Jesus” Church.

The Purpose IS the Same as WHEN God Established “the Temple”.
Men “JOINED” in the Temple of God, were “WITH” God.
Men “JOINED” in Jesus’ Church, were and are “WITH” Christ Jesus and God.

Men who are NOT “WITH” God are “WITHOUT” ie. “AGAINST” God.

Jesus said Peter!

I answered before.

I asked you did God found Israel and the priesthood.

Did Not God found all three?

Answer this and you will understand why I believe you question to be invalid tp support your view

the old is irrelevant
The kingdom was taken from them and given to Peter and the apostles Matt 21:43

It is relevant as it pertains to your question.

God founded Israel and the priesthood. Yet they rejected christ.

No one was ever saved by the old covenant. They were saved by faith just like we are.

So we can;t say, since God founded the church, the gentiles will not in the end do the same thing.

We are not saved by faith or faith alone

and Christ founded the church to teach His revelation and that without error jn 16:13 and administer the sacraments of salvation

the new covenant church is the ark of salvation

Christ is king!
Christ is mediator!
Christ is good shepherd!

The same person so the kingdom, the new covenant, and the church are the same!

The Ark of Salvation!

The church is founded by Christ and the sacraments are instituted by Christ for the salvation of all men!

The church and Jesus are one: acts 9:4 Jn 15:1-5 eph 5:32

The church and the sacraments are necessary for and the means of salvation and the life of grace!

Redemption: Eph 2
Justification: Mk 16:16 Jn 3:5 Acts 2:38
Sanctification: Jn 1:16 Jn 10:10 Jn 15:5
Salvation: Matt 24:13 Rom 13:11

The body of Christ:
1 Corinthians 12:27

The one true church:
Matt 16:18 Jn 10:16

The household of faith:
Gal 6:10

The house of God:
1 Tim 3:15

The church of the living God:
1 Tim 3:15

The kingdom of God on earth:
Dan 2:44 Matt 6:33 Matt 16:18 Matt 12:28 Mk 1:15 Jn 3:3-5 Acts 8:12 1 Cor 4:20 Col 4:11 1 Thes 2:12 Rev 1:9 12:10

The new and eternal covenant:
The one fold of Christ:

The new covenant body of Christ church is an ark, the ark of Peter, the ark of Noah was a type, all those outside the ark died, and all those outside the church die spiritually, there is no life outside of Noah’s ark and there is no spiritual life or salvation outside of the church founded by Christ on Peter and the apostles!

1 Pet 3:20
Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.

21 The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us!
(Ark of Noah a type of the church, member of Christ and his church and salvation by baptism!)
(Outside the ark all died and outside the church there is no salvation!)

God breathed life into Adam, gen 2:7 and we received this life from our fathers!

Christ breathed on the apostles our spiritual fathers, we receive the new covenant life of God’s grace from them thru faith & baptism! Jn 20:21-23 Mk 16:16 acts 8:36-38

Christian ritual of baptism:
Immersion, sprinkling, pour pure water over the forehead three time with the words, I baptize thee in the name of the father, and of the son, and of the Holy Spirit! Ez 36:25-27 Mk 16:16 Matt 28:19 Acts 2:38-39 Acts 8:36-38 Acts 22:16
1 Pet 3:21

Proper intention: to make a new creature in Christ, to put on Christ, initiation into the new covenant of grace
Matter: pure water
Form: the words

Born again! Born from above!

'The Father has set his seal' on Christ (John 6:27) and also seals us in him (cf. 2 Corinthians 1:22; Ephesians 1:23, 4:30). Because this seal indicates the indelible effect of the anointing with the Holy Spirit in the sacrament of Baptism,

Baptism indeed is the seal of eternal life." 87 The faithful Christian who has "kept the seal" until the end, remaining faithful to the demands of his Baptism, will be able to depart this life "marked with the sign of faith," 88 with his baptismal faith, in expectation of the blessed vision of God - the consummation of faith - and in the hope of resurrection.

St. Paul tells the faithful at Ephesus that they have been “sealed with the promised Holy Spirit.” This is in terms of an indelible character imprinted on the soul in the sacraments of baptism and confirmation. It is not as if this invisible mark is simply decorative. Rather, through it, we are enabled to participate in Christ’s mission and in his offices of priest, prophet, and king. Eph 1:13

Sealed by God eph 1:13 sealed by God (ez 36:25-27) in the ark of salvation by baptism just as Noah was sealed by God in the ark of the flood gen 7:16

1 Pet 3:20 Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.

21 The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us!
(Ark of Noah a type of the church, member of Christ and his church and salvation by baptism!)
(Outside the ark of Noah none were saved, outside the church (the ark of salvation) none are saved!)

Sealed in the ark, sealed in the church the ark of salvation by baptism!

Ez 36:25 I (God) shall sprinkle you with pure water, and you shall be white as snow!

matt 24:13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

Matthew 10:22
And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.

Mark 13:13
And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

Rev 2:26 And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations:

Heb 3:14 For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;

Heb 6:11 And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end:

1. Romans 11:22 – God’s kindness, if you continue in His kindness

2. Colossians 1:21-23 – holy and blameless, if you continue in the faith"

3. The race of faith: the example of Paul

4. Hebrews 12:22-25: "we shall not escape if we turn away from Him"

5. Hebrews 4:1-3, 9-12: "strive to enter the rest of God"

6.Hebrews 6:4-9 – those who became partakers of the holy spirit and fell away

7. Hebrews 10:23-29, 35-39: "if we sin willfully", "if anyone draws back".

8. Matthew 24:13: He that endures to the end, the same shall be saved

9. Hebrews 3:4-6: Holding fast our confidence firm until the end

10. Matthew 24:13: "But the one who endures to the end will be saved"

11. 1 John 2:24-25 – "if what you heard from the beginning abides in you"

12. 2 John 8-9 : to "everyone who goes on ahead and does not abide in the teaching of Christ

13. 2 Peter 1:5-11 : "Make every effort to supplement your faith"

14. Philippians 2:12-16: "work out your salvation with fear and trembling"

15. 1 Timothy 6:10-16: the love of money

16. Galatians 5:2-4 "Severed from Christ"

17. 2 Timothy 2:11-13: "if we deny him, he will also deny us"

18. James 5:19-20: the wandered brother

19. Some will abandon the faith

20. 1 Timothy 5:8: "he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever"

22. The real family of Jesus: "Those who hear the Word of God and do it"

23. 1 Corinthians 5:5: "so that his spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord"

24. Peter 2: "It would have been better for them never to have known the way of righteousness"

25. Jude: "Turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness" - a much relevant warning

26. 1 Cor. 9:27 ....Lest I myself might become a castaway

Romans 13:11
And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.

So salvation by “faith alone” is completely false and impossible!

Is the word of God is limited to scripture?

The Word of God, written IN Scripture, IS what God has said and approved.
The Word of God, is ALSO a Name/Title of Jesus, thus includes what Jesus has said and approved.

The Word of God is Oral Expression and Established as Written Expression...said and approved BY God Himself, For mankind to Trust to rely on, and Trust to verify what they HEAR or READ.

God IS NOT LIMITED. Men ARE.
God IS ALL KNOWING. Men ARE Not.

What God has provided FOR ALL of mankind, IS HIS Word, given a few who fulfilled a Service unto God TO WRITE and Distribute what God said and approved, what Jesus said and approved...TO Hear, TO Read, TO Speak.

Why DID God give you a Different Source of His Word of KNOWLEDGE?
IF so, what is it, and HOW do you verify it?

Amen! God Himself Is Very Plain And Clear About HIS Word!:

Psa 138:2 I will worship toward Thy holy temple, and praise Thy Name for Thy Lovingkindness and for Thy Truth: for Thou Hast MAGNIFIED Thy Word Above All THY NAME.

1Co 4:6 And these things, brethren, I have in a figure transferred to myself
and Apollos for your sakes; that ye might learn in us not to think above

THAT WHICH IS WRITTEN,

that no one of you be puffed up for one against another.

No wonder we see a lot of this "PUFFINESS" going on, eh?

The PERFECT Living Word (Jesus) AND His PERFECT Written Word (Scripture) cannot be separated! IF this is BIBLIOLATRY, Then I am:

GUILTY "as Charged!" Amen?

No one is saved until the end

We are not saved by faith or faith alone
Paul said I have been saved numerous times. Jesus said I have eternal life and I will never die

The whole bible says we were saved by faith alone. And works are a result of that faith.
and Christ founded the church to teach His revelation and that without error jn 16:13 and administer the sacraments of salvation

the new covenant church is the ark of salvation
Christ founded the jews, and the priesthood. And with all organization. Men got in and distorted the truth

God did not replace the works of the law with the sacraments (works) of the church. And say this is how you are saved.

The works of the law could not even save anyone. God did not make it harder to get saved in the NT than in the OT.

Good luck trying to earn your salvation through sacramental works of the church. They will net help remove the penalty of one sin you have commited.

Amen, The church IS THE WORD OF GOD.

It is the ONLY thing that is inspired. And the only thing we can trust, we can not even trust ourselves. Thats why Jesus ALWAYS sent people out in two. Most churches do not even abide by this instruction.

peter is the rock upon which He build His church!

Well aware of the most glaring difference between Jesus’ Church and the Catholic Church.

A Catholics church is built upon peter.

Jesus’ Church is built upon;
Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the Living God....and Christ is the Rock.
And would wager, even Peter himself believed ^ that.

Matt 16:
[16] And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.

1 Cor 10:
[4] And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.
