On a scale, how would you rank your scriptural knowledge? Additionally, what about your understanding of scripture?
How would you even quantify something like that?On a scale, how would you rank your scriptural knowledge? Additionally, what about your understanding of scripture?
Yes and no. Can you know God exists? Yes. Can you know God is majestic? Yes. Can you know about Christ dying for you and the need for him to do so? No. Can you know the love of God? No. The Righteousness of God? No. etc....Can you know the Lord without knowing the Bible?

Don't be silly...as Moses wrote a big chunk of the O.T. himself ...obviously people knew God before anything was written down.
Noah did not have a bible...neither did Abraham...
Those individuals each had a physical interaction with God. Those patriarchs are said to have had experience we do not have and are not promised to have.
God interacted with humanity different then than He does now.Are you sure about that? ;)
Noah new of the judgement of God.
Abraham knew of the Fatherhood of God...and with the 'ram in the thicket' he knew about the provision of God.
Moses knew about I Am ..and the loving heart of God when God revealed His name El Shaddai .."many breasted one" to Moses.
Etc etc...
Can you know God exists? Yes. Can you know God is majestic? Yes.
If you wish to believe that..okay.. ;)
Yes and no. He is still very personal.God interacted with humanity different then than He does now.
The fact of the creation tells us that there is One powerful enough to create it, and having created it, is therefore above it.Without a reliable point of reference, how can these details about a being be known?

Romans 1 says all know about God whether or not they have studied Scripture because of his general revelation in creation.Without a reliable point of reference, how can these details about a being be known? The qualities of God are revealed in and confirmed by scripture. Without scripture and detailed Adam and Apostle-like 1st person interactive revelations, any ideas one may have about the qualities of God are subjective opinions without a foundation to stand on. The Bible is THE foundation.
Yes, but not in the same way he was in the OT.Yes and no. He is still very personal.
Agreed. But that doesn't mean it's "less than".Yes, but not in the same way he was in the OT.

The fact of existence is self-evident, and the simplest reasoning shows it didn't get here on it's own.The fact of existence reveals that there is existence. The fact that thee is existence doesn't in and of itself reveal how existence came about or what acted or was acted upon to cause the beginning of what we know as existence.
