I was looking at my MSN screen just now when an ad for a PC game appeared. It showed a picture of a fantasy woman with massive breasts and scanty clothes and reminded me of a conversation I had had a couple of weeks ago about how boys get hooked with these gaming images which portray a false notion of femininity.

It is the beginning of an addiction to porn and our young lads are being bombarded by stuff on their video games. This is not or nowhere near the real picture of womanhood, yet young lads are growing up with the expectations that this is how women should look. No wonder so many young girls and women have a problem with their own images.

I used to play World of Warcraft. Super fun game. Really had some good times playing it. But the women in their are a little inappropriate.

Anyway, not the most fun subject, and not one I was expecting to get into, but since you brought up the subject, there are actually a number of things that suggest werewolves and vampires are not as "fanciful" as one might be led to believe.

Since I'm on the subject, here's another. "Better in the Dark" is about running with a female Satanist who could transform. "She's alright, tall and handsome" is reference to a werewolf standing on hind legs, but since they're ugly, he qualifies it with "when the lights are down," i.e. when you can only see her silhouette.

I'm all right - I'm crossing over
I just shot the sun
One more night - black as heaven
So no-one saw the gun

Running with monsters in shadows
And monsters always know
It's better in the dark

Oh, she's all right - tall and handsome
If the lights are down
Gone by dawn - takes no chances
Might come back around

Clutching to monsters in shadows
And monsters always know
It's better in the dark

I'm all right - I'm crossing over
I can disappear - gone

Clutching to monsters in shadows
And monsters always know
It's better in the dark
Better in the dark
I just shot the sun

Exactly @devin553344 - which is why I started the thread. It's fantasy and a completly unrealistic view of real femininity.

I think part of Pearl's point was also the unnecessarily visible physique of some of those who are depicted; it wasn't only about violence.

Look on the bright side, there's nothing wrong with boys taking a healthy interest in females; the time to worry would be if they begin taking an un-healthy interest in other boys..;)

Neither is porn!
Neither is a bunch of "woke" stuff!
Niether is sexting!
Neither is a bunch of the other stuff kids are regularly exposed to in real life nowadays!

Yes, video games need to be better in a lot of ways. But
1) It's not the largest issue facing parents and kids today in regards to unrealistic gender roles.
2) There is a movement to make video games better. Running with the WoW example, characters models from 20 years ago yes had giant breasts and only wearing a bra. But then look at later models: striving for more realistic proportions and actual clothes. There is that push, and admittedly a long way to go.

In it's defense, that is the case for the human and elf women, but the dwarf women are short and stout. :D

I think this was about the same woman.

And one more for the road before I get off it. Wild One was on the same subject. It's about a person who likes being taken as weak, because it makes vengeance that much sweeter. "The train is coming and you can hear it calling" means the transformation is coming, and when it does they will get even.

You say you've never seen the light before
Does anyone believe you
Don't let them hear you say anymore
Nothing's really safe around here
We are an imitation of the crown
We never turn the pages
They cannot let your spirit touch the ground
And nothing's gonna change around here, no

Crack in the ceiling
Hole in the wall
They'd bend you over
But you won't crawl away
You've got two in the bushes
One in the hand
They'd make you over
But they can't understand you
You're always gonna be the wild one

Pretend that all you really feel is pain
Just hide behind some sorrow
How sad
But you'd do it all again
(I guess that) Nobody changes 'round here
Cat in the cradle
Man in the moon
They'd make you over
But it's too soon to know
I smell smoke in the kitchen
Fire in the hall
The train is coming
and you can hear it calling
You're always gonna be the wild one

Crack in the ceiling
Hole in the wall
They bend you over
But you won't crawl away
You've got two in the bushes
One in the hand
They'd make you over
But they can't understand you
You're always gonna be the Wild One

Ok, I'm done. That last one was a favorite of mine, so I had to include it.

If you don't like certain types of entertain (games, movies, books, etc), then you don't have to play them. For example, if you don't want to play fantasy games, then you don't have to. Let's not judge others though, and remember there is a difference between fantasy and reality.
That is exactly how satan works . How do you think he seduced all those children . Through movies like harry potter
and so on . Making it seem like witch craft and warlocks and etc is just fun for the kiddos . Satan knows
how to make things seem harmless . TV and games and movies and not a lick of it honors Christ , in fact
it honors the lgbt , witchcraft , and you name it . BUT this generation just wants to holler , HEY you warners JUDGE NOT .
SIN is sin no matter how it appears . Witchcraft is witchcraft no matter how it appears . As i said
satan knows how to seduce , he just makes it seem like enterntainment an harmless . YET even paul said
FLEE ALL , not pick and choose , BUT FLEE all APPEARANCE OF EVIL . Satan has destroyed churches from within
by alluring them into ENTERTAINMENT and makes it all seem cute and harmless . WAKE UP CALL . TIME to stop supporting such things .

YEAH RIGHT .
Its an oxymoron . Cant mix christain with evil and expect it to still be christain . ITS EVIL and worse
GOD hates that the most . WHEN folks CLAIM HIS NAME yet practice evil .

There is a problem if boys have unrealistic expectations of women and don't respect them. This type of thing is the beginning of porn addiction. My son respects women because we brought him up that way and my friend's son also respects women because he too was brought up that way but my friend sees the games her grandson plays which have fantasy women scantily clad with large breasts and she doesn't want those boys to grow up with that unrealistic picture of real women.
