Good for them. I would certainly hope the military brass would refuse to obey unlawful or unconstitutional orders. They get their orders from Hegseth and they're the ones who have to decide if the order is unlawful. Donald Trump is actively trying to cajole the military into favoring him over the constitution; and if he can do that, his authoritarian rule will be complete. So yeah, I hope they would have sense enough not to fall into his trap.

Do you realize how close we are to a Constitutional crisis? The Executive Branch has been cited for contempt of Congress for failing to comply with Congressional subpoenas, and by the Judicial Branch for contempt of court for failing to comply with Court orders temporarily staying the deportation of Venezuelan illegal immigrants. This is precisely the reason why the framers of the Constitution put in checks and balances between the three branches. But the Executive Branch is in charge of enforcement, so it is basically policing itself. The Military is part of the Executive Branch and is the final level of enforcement. Congress is properly reminding the Military that their oath is to protect the Constitution.

Ironic in a way. The D.C Left accused MAGA and Trump of Insurrection on J6. Now in November 25 they're calling for it.
