You say "mix pagan gods...", but there is no mix. To "overcome" is not a "mix", but is a takeover or makeover. Not as a continuation of things unchanged, but changed.
What part of “touch nothing unclean” and “get out from among them” do you not understand? (2 Cor 6:14-18) We are not told to Christianize paganism, but to make sure that our faith is not contaminated or corrupted by it. How many drops of poison would it take for you to refuse a glass of poisoned water?
The Christian message appeals to an honest heart only if it is authentic….not watered down, and not given a “makeover” because what’s underneath has not changed at all. The change is purely cosmetic.
Is that not the same principle of salvation, or even the new heaven and earth?
No way is it even close….mankind are judged by how well they keep themselves clean from false worship, not how close they can get to it by calling it something else.
The “new heaven and the new earth” are not literal as there is nothing wrong with either one in the physical sense…..they were created perfect, as were the beings placed here to make sure it stayed that way. God will yet fulfill his purpose for them….(Isa 55:11)….but only after he has dealt with the rebellion that the devil caused.
“The new heavens” are the ruling authority (God’s heavenly Kingdom) that will take redeemed mankind back into reconciliation with their Creator….cleansed when satan and his crowd were evicted, prior to Jesus return to “separate the sheep from the goats”, and to judge mankind. (Rev 12:7-12) We are now experiencing the devil’s ‘short period of anger’…..he is out to take as many down with him as he can.
”The new earth” will be their subjects…also cleansed by the blood of Christ, so that all who remain will have proven their faith through these difficult last days and kept false worship out of their lives to the end. (Matt 24:13)
Adopting what God hates because it is dressed up to look pretty is like Eve looking at the forbidden fruit and seeing only what she wanted to see…..it looked delicious…..and the devil had ‘disarmed the bomb’, convincing her that ‘she would not die’……she then justified taking a bite…..and kaboom!…..But it was a time bomb….
It is... But then again, many who do not clearly understand, also advocate for glorifying the flesh, rather than all things becoming new in spirit, as God himself is spirit.
Ah….but many do understand what you apparently do not. And that is, that disobedience never achieves God’s sanction or blessing, no matter how well you disguise it. God was there and saw the originals that you say were “taken over”….but if he said “dont touch”…..there is another ‘bomb’ waiting to explode if we do. It too is a time bomb. Most won’t anticipate the result until it goes off in their face with a stinging rejection from our appointed judge. He will tell those ones….. “I never knew you! Get away from me you workers of lawlessness”….(Matt 7:21-23)
Whether we are among them depends entirely on our strict obedience to God and the teachings of his son in all things. We all need to take a good look at what we accept as truth.
