That's major deception right there.

The main subject by Apostle Paul in 2 Thessalonians 2 about the great falling away is regarding the coming false-Messiah to JERUSALEM to set himself up as God in a new stone temple. That event is still in the near future to us, so the great falling away Paul was talking about isn't here yet today.
According to the Bible, the "last days" have already begun. The last days of this era have existed for 2,000 years and may exist considerably longer, we do not yet know what lies ahead. But Jesus tells us to "watch", carefully going by the signs. We can learn from prophecy that some of the signs are already here.

Sorry, but that's more signs of being deceived. Jesus showed us what to 'watch' leading up to His future coming. That's what His Olivet discourse SIGNS are about which are the SEALS of Revelation 6. He even gave the order of events for the end to include when He comes to gather His faithful Church, so that none of His have an excuse to be caught off guard. The great falling away Apostle Paul was revealing is about one of those major SIGNS of the end which Jesus gave, the coming of the pseudo-Christ to Jerusalem that many will say, "Lo, here is Christ, or there," and Jesus said to believe it not, because it will be a fake. Then those of us who refuse to believe it and do not 'fall away' to that false Messiah will be delivered up to give a Testimony against the beast for Jesus, with allowing The Holy Spirit to speak through us (per Mark 13). Not many brethren are prepared to do this, and will instead fall away to the "strong delusion", the coming false-Messiah they will think is Jesus.

Those not well studied in God's Word probably aren't going to like this.

What Apostle Paul said in Acts 16:31 is true, believe on Jesus Christ and one will be saved. The question is though, the WHEN, literally, physically, and I mean being established in Christ's future Kingdom at His future coming.

Not all believers on Christ Jesus can sit upon the 12 thrones Lord Jesus promised only to His elect chosen Apostles (Matthew 19:27-30).

In the next Matthew 20 Chapter, Lord Jesus addressed this matter of rewards in His future Kingdom...

Matt 20:20-23
20 Then came to Him the mother of Zebedee's children with her sons, worshipping Him, and desiring a certain thing of Him.

21 And He said unto her, "What wilt thou?" She saith unto Him, "Grant that these my two sons may sit, the one on Thy right hand, and the other on the left, in Thy kingdom."

22 But Jesus answered and said, "Ye know not what ye ask. Are ye able to drink of the cup that I shall drink of, and to be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?" They say unto Him, "We are able."

23
And He saith unto them, "Ye shall drink indeed of My cup, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with: but to sit on My right hand, and on My left, is not Mine to give, but it shall be given to them for whom it is prepared of My Father."
KJV

Per Ezekiel 44, only the ZADOK priests, which represent the faithful followers of Christ Jesus that remain in Him and His Word all the way to the end, only those will be allowed to approach Jesus in His future Millennium Kingdom and serve at His table. It shows the Levites who erred when Israel fell away, will still be in charge of the future Millennial temple duties, but they won't be allowed to approach Christ in that future time.

We indeed are saved only... by Faith on Jesus Christ, through God's Grace, unmerited favor we could never earn ourselves. However, our 'works' in Christ do follow us to Heaven, as written...

Rev 14:12-13
12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

13 And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, "Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth:
Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them."
KJV

I do not recognize my 'works' in Christ Jesus as being anywhere near... many Christian brethren that have gone before me. I will feel lucky just barely... being saved by our Lord Jesus Christ to be in His future Kingdom. I know I am not worthy to sit upon a throne to reign with Him either, nor do I ask like those two sons of Zebedee whose mother wanted Jesus to promise they would sit upon Jesus' right hand and left hand in His future Kingdom. If Lord Jesus saves me from my sins remembering me in His future Kingdom, that will be good enough for me. I hope I will be counted faithful by Him when He comes, and will be able to serve Him at His table, or at the least be one of His priests, but like He told the mother of Zebedee's two sons, it is The Father's decision to decide who will do what in His future Kingdom.

Now my main point in this:

Remember the "unprofitable servant" in Jesus' Matthew 25 parable of the talents? That servant did nothing with what he was given, showing that he just believed and that's all. He buried the one talent he was given, and when his master returned, he gave that one talent back to him; didn't even bother to put the talent to work to draw interest. Jesus showed that servant will be cast to the "outer darkness" when Jesus returns. All the others Jesus gave talents to was according to their ability, and they each produced 100% fruit. But not that one given only the one talent.

We are to learn a lesson from this. Our works do follow us to Heaven, but we are not saved by our works. However, Lord Jesus showed lack of works in Him can... place a believer in His future Kingdom in a precarious spot, because that "outer darkness" represents a place of shame, in separation from Jesus when He comes. It does not mean that servant won't eventually be saved in Christ; but it does mean that one will stand in judgment throughout Christ's "thousand years" reign with His faithful elect. And how much worse will it be for those brethren that 'fall away' to the coming false-Messiah that appears first in Jerusalem, thinking he will be our Lord Jesus?

This is why Apostle Peter said the following...

1 Peter 4:16-19
16 Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf.
17 For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?
18
And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?
19 Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to Him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator.
KJV

"Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf."

First of all, keep in mind this is the one and only place in the entire scripture this word is used by any man of God. Secondly, Peter did not label the followers of Christ a "Christian" in the passage. Read it again, very carefully. He said they were to be "as a Christian." This is very important. The word as means "like or similar to," but it does not mean one is that word. For example:
  1. Genesis 49:9, "...he couched as a lion," does not mean Judah was a lion when he couched!

  2. Exodus 15:5, "...they sank into the bottom as a stone," does not mean they were a stone when they sank.

  3. Matthew 17:20, "...If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed," does not mean faith is a mustard seed.

  4. Matthew 23:37, "...gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens," does not mean God's children were chickens.

  5. Ephesians 5:25, "Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ," does not mean husbands are Christ when they love their wives.
And, therefore:

1 Peter 4:16, "Yet if any man suffer as a Christian," does not mean man is a Christian when they suffer.

When someone is "as" something else, it does not mean one is that something. It means we are similar, in some way, to that name, but we are not literally that name. You see, the heathens are the ones who called the followers of Christ "Christians" (Acts 11:26; 26:28). When Peter was referring to the title "Christian, " it is in the context of suffering, and is in reference to the name as imposed upon them by their enemies, because our enemies want us to suffer.

From the OP:

Is Christianity in the Bible?

Paul spoke against "-anity's" and "-ism's" because such divisions aka denominations divide Christ and introduce a party spirit.

“Suffer as a Christian” — It does mean they are a Christian, and that is why they are suffering. Christian was the label and the reality.

This is simply the common usage of language.

“as” = Role or Capacity (Preposition): Indicates the function, character, or capacity of someone or something.

Example:

“My father was employed as an architect.”

Means: he was an architect.

If any man suffer as a Christian... Man is the subject of the sentence - not "Christian." Means: he was a man.
"Christian" is the DO (Direct Object) - "indicating function, character, or capacity of" man.

“My father was employed as an architect.”
Father is the subject of the sentence - not "architect" Means: he was a father.
"Architect" is the DO (Direct Object) - "indicating function, character, or capacity of" father.

as is a simile - a figure of speech used to compare things.

Yes. And that "someone or something" remains: man and father - not "Christian" and "architect."

Does Christianity need to be in the Bible, for the Holy Spirit to believe it?
It is not intended that "Christianity" would be in the Bible (the absence of which allows the Holy Spirit to move with greater authority).

Yes. And that "someone or something" remains: man and father - not "Christian" and "architect."
You scramble meanings because you do not understand language.

In “My father was employed as an architect”, as is not a simile.

The meaning is not “as if he was an architect”. He actually was an architect.

In “suffer as a Christian”, the meaning is “suffer because of being a Christian”.

Your hostility toward the words “Christian” and “Christianity” indicates a bad attitude toward the faith.

CHRISTIAN: Paul never once refers to himself as a 'christian', while at least five times in the New Testament he refers to himself as a follower of "the way". The way was considered to be a revolutionary new way of life, centered on the true communism of sharing all things in common and distributing to each according to need, the opposite of both Roman, Greek and modern capitalist societies.

Unlike in the 21st Century, First Century followers of Jesus largely remained among the poor. Paul being among the very poorest of the poor, was entrusted to carry the "purse" for the poor, donated by people who themselves were generally poor.

The term "christian" appears to have originally been a derogatory term invented by outsiders, loosely comparable to the N-word in modern American society. According to Acts 11:26, the term was first used in Antioch. When a Roman ruler says to Paul, "you almost persuade me to become a christian", Paul replies as follows: "I would to God that not only you, but also all who hear me today, might become both almost and altogether such as I am, except for these chains" Acts 26:28-29.

Note that Paul seems to deliberately avoid using the term 'christian' in his response. Perhaps he suspected even then it was being used to place the followers of Jesus back under religious laws, rules and vain traditions, something Paul utterly opposed.

No one knows why Paul doesn't use the term christian in his response to King Agrippa, but we do know based on Romans, Galatians and other writings, that Paul strongly opposes forms of outward religion, insisting that those who have the spirit of Jesus within them, "are not under law, but under grace" Romans 6:14; see also Galatians 5:18. Paul may have been adverse to referring to himself as a christian for similar reasons that people today resent being referred to by a racial or other derogatory slur.

It appears being branded as a "christian" was eventually adopted as a badge of honor, signifying that one was willing to endure ridicule and ostracization from regular Jewish, Roman and Greek society, was willing to adopt a completely different type of lifestyle perhaps seemingly 'strange' to their First Century peers (as it would likewise appear very different today in the modern-day capitalist United States). And, one was willing to risk imprisonment and extreme forms of torture and execution, which could also apply to spouse, children, extended household and friends.

The bad habit of seeking to accumulate more than we need seems to be as old as civilization itself, for as Ecclesiastes says, "there is nothing new under the sun." And as Paul writes, "the love of wealth is the root of all evil."

It is perhaps worthy to note, that even as late as the events in Acts 19, followers of Jesus are not referred to as followers of Christianity, as if Jesus was ever viewed by his early followers as having come to establish a new religion. Rather in Acts 19:23 we find followers of Jesus, including Luke the author of Acts, viewing themselves as being followers of "the way": "And about that time there arose a great commotion about the way."

Also, towards the end of the record of his life, Paul refers to "this way" in Acts 22:4 and "the way" in Acts 24:14. This indicates that perhaps many followers of Jesus considered themselves to be followers of "the way" until after the authors of the Bible had all passed on.

Suffice it to say, both Stephen and Paul in Acts insist that God does not live in temples made with hands, Paul in particular being utterly scornful of what today is commonly understood as "religion". If when we hear the word "religion", we think in our minds of dependence on God's help to in turn, freely "love one another", then the New Testament is indeed a highly religious collection.

However, if when we hear the word "religion", we think in our minds of institutionalized religion, temples and church structures, priests and preachers parading around in garments differing in any way from how regular average people normally dress in their leisure and, an organization collecting huge sums for any reason other than helping the sick and poor and otherwise oppressed, then the New Testament remains among the least religious body of works in the history of humanity.

Use of the term "christian" in the New Testament can be found here Acts 11:26, here Acts 26:28 and here 1 Peter 4:16. James may also refer to this word, but he does not do so directly. Even though the term originated as early as Acts 11, Luke, Paul and other followers of Jesus in their group continue to refer to themselves as followers of "the way" throughout the entirety of Acts.

Be not deceived, for the word "Christianity" is not anywhere in the Bible. And there is zero historical or other evidence that Jesus is the founder of either Christianity or any other religion. Rather, as Jesus says in John 10:10, "the thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly."
In Acts 24:14, Paul testified that according to The Way, which they call a sect, he continued to worship the God of their fathers, believing everything laid down by the Torah and written in the prophets, and the religion of which The Way is a sect is Judaism. Moreover, the Bible frequently refers to the Torah as being God's way, such as with Deuteronomy 10:12-13, Isaiah 2:2-3, Joshua 22:5, 1 Kings 2:1-3, and Psalm 119:1-3. Paul did not say anything against religion, but rather he was more religious than most people.

In Romans 5-8, Paul described the Law of God as being something that is the good that he wanted to do in contrast with the law of sin as being something that was causing him not do do the good that he wanted to do. For example, Paul said in Romans 7:22-23 that he delighted in obeying the Law of God in contrast with saying that the law of sin was waging war against the law of his mind and held him captive, so it would absurd to interpret Romans 7:5-6 as also referring to the Law of God as if Paul delighted in stirring up sinful passions in order to bear fruit unto death or as if Paul delighted in being held captive to sin, but rather that is the role of the law of sin.

In Romans 6:14, Paul described the law that we are not under as being a law where sin had dominion over him, which clearly does not describe something that is the good that he wanted to do but rather that is the role of the law of sin. In Romans 6:15, being under grace does not mean that we are permitted to sin, and in Romans 7:7, the Law of God is not sinful but how we know what sin is, so we are still under it.

Likewise, in Romans 8:2-7, Paul said that the Law of the Spirit has freed us from the law of sin and death and he contrasted those who walk in the Spirit with those who have minds set on the flesh who are enemies of God who refuse to submit to the Law of God, which should inform which law Paul was referring to as not being under when we are led by the Spirit. In Galatians 5:16-23, Paul contrasted the desires of the flesh with the desires of the Spirit and the desires of the flesh causing us not to do the good that we want to do is how Paul described his struggle with the law of sin in Roman 5-8. It would be absurd to interpret Galatians 5:18 as referring to us not being under the Law as if we are now free to partake in what it reveals to be the desires of the flesh when we are led by the Spirit. Moreover, everything that Paul listed in Galatians 5:16-23 as being desires of the flesh that are against the Spirit are also against the Law of God while all of the fruits of the Spirit are in accordance with it. The Law of God was given by God and the Spirit is God, so it would again be absurd to interpret Galatians 5:18 as referring to not being under the Law of God as if we are not led by God when we are led by God.

There is nothing inconsistent about those who practice capitalism choosing to share their resources with others, but government enforced communism and the millions of deaths that it has causes is something else entirely.

If you want to come down to it, Paul did not use any English words, however, English words can still be used to refer to what Paul was. A Christian is by definition a follower of Christ and Paul was a follower of Christ.

No sermon in the New Testament meetings of Christians? What was the message Paul gave at Troas:

(Act 20:7) Now on the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul, ready to depart the next day, spoke to them and continued his message until midnight.
Acts 19:8-10 EMTV
8) And he entered into the synagogue and spoke boldly for three months, debating and persuading the things concerning of the kingdom of God.
9) But when some became hardened and disbelieving, speaking evil against the Way before the multitude, he withdrew from them and separated the disciples, each day debating in the school of a certain Tyrannus.
10) Now this took place for two years, so that all who were dwelling in Asia heard the word of the Lord Jesus, both Jews and Greeks.

Acts 11:25-26 EMTV
25) And Barnabas went forth to Tarsus to seek out Saul,
26) and having found him, he brought him to Antioch. And it came about that for a whole year they assembled with the church and instructed many people. And the disciples were first called Christians in Antioch.

Each of these examples show deliberation in the intent to teach.

Much love!
