While demographically London has probably the largest percentage of Muslims in all of Britain (Not sure, maybe Birmingham has, can't be asked to look it up), it’s unlikely that it will ever be all Muslim. I happen to be married to a real Londoner: well, there's some Froggies, Scots and Welshmen in the Family tree, but he was born and raised there. And my husband and his Family regard the mostly Muslim British Bengalis who’ve lived in London for generations as real Londoners, too. You’ll probably find it hard to get your head round this, but one of the things we like about London is its vibrant multiculturalism: orthodox Jews, Hindus, Sikh, Muslims, Anglicans and Irish Catholics, Punks and Bankers … all of them real Londoners. Great city! Guess how boring it would be if all it had to offer were pearly kings.
