That doesn’t make sense because those passages save no one. God alone is the one who saves; go get your salvation from God, not from the bible.
Never said those passages save anyone. You questioned something I said, that God saves those who are foreknown by Him, and I posted the scriptures that I had learned it from. And you have no response to that apparently.
In any case I will respond here to how you seem to be questioning Paul and questioning the value of the written word of God:
Eph 2:18-22
For
through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.
Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;
And are
built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;
In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord:
In whom ye also are
builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.
This lets us know that the writings of the old testament prophets as well as writings of the apostles are true to plumb with the cornerstone and form part of the foundation together with Christ and His teachings. They are Truth in other words and can be relied upon as being the word of God….a firm and true foundation to build the temple/habitation of God upon.
We have been brought into a living two-way relationship with the Living God and He certainly is not limited to speaking to us through His written word, as scripture itself affirms, so we likewise should not limit Him…..however, one important benefit of His written word is that we might test what we are hearing/experiencing by it.
We ought not to try and separate the written word from the One from whom it proceeded. Jesus is the Word made flesh. We are to serve in the new way of His Spirit, not the old way of the letter which kills.
Jesus Himself said man does not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God. Paul wrote about the washing of the water of the word to cleanse and sanctify the church thereby.....God's word has a sanctifying effect. The entrance of the word gives light. The bible says the scriptures are able to make one wise unto salvation. His word is a lamp unto our feet and light unto our path on this journey through life. And scripture also says God esteems His word above all His name. So we should not be dismissive of God's word or think we are too far above it to need it.
Eph 5:25-27
Husbands, love your wives, even
as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;
That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,
That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.
