What are you calling...”OUR” spirit?

TY

The spirit in man is our mind, heart, it's also described as wind which expresses feelings and emotions. Our spirit controls every organ and function of our body. It is through our spirit that our body has physical life, and our minds think and reason. It is through our spirit that the Spirit of Christ communicates the will of God to us, when we are born again. Without the Spirit of Christ in our spirit we cannot know the things of God.

The spirit in man is defined from the Hebrew:

Strong's Hebrew Dictionary
5397. נְשָׁמָה neshamah (nᵉshâmâh) -
a puff, i.e. wind, angry or vital breath, divine inspiration, intellect. or (concretely) an animal:—blast, (that) breath(-eth), inspiration, soul, spirit.

feminine noun

Proverbs 20:27 (KJV) The spirit of man is the candle of the LORD, searching all the inward parts of the belly.

Job 26:4 (KJVSL) To whom hast thou uttered words? and whose spirit came from thee?

Job 32:8 (KJV) But there is a spirit in man: and the inspiration of the Almighty giveth them understanding.

Spirit in the Greek is defined from:
Strong's Greek Dictionary
4151. πνεῦμα pneuma (pneûma) -
a current of air, i.e. breath (blast) or a breeze; by analogy or figuratively, a spirit, i.e. (human) the rational soul, (by implication) vital principle, mental disposition, etc., or (superhuman) an angel, demon, or (divine) God, Christ's spirit, the Holy Spirit:—ghost, life, spirit(-ual, -ually), mind

1 Corinthians 2:11-12 (KJV) For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.

When men die the spirit in them returns to God who gave it. If man dies without the life-giving Spirit in them, their spirit returns to God without life. Believers find comfort in physical death knowing God revives our spirit by the Holy Spirit in us, so our spirit returns to God in heaven alive - a spirit (having life) soul.

Ecclesiastes 12:7 (KJV) Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.

Isaiah 57:15 (KJV) For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.

When man sinned, it was the Spirit that came from God that departed which makes all mankind spiritually dead in trespasses and sins, because man's spirit from that moment became natural of the world and became a child to the spirit of this world, Satan. It is for this reason that man MUST BE BORN AGAIN, of the Spirit of God to have eternal life. And this is why believers need have no fear of death, and in fact can find comfort in knowing their life is not over, but simply transitioned from this age to the eternal age to come.

The breath of life God breathes into "OUR" spirit. It was in the beginning when God created man, He gave life to our spirit through breathing His Holy Spirit into us.

When man sinned against God, that very day the spirit in man became "dead in trespasses and sins" (became natural, of the earth, worldly, of the devil, separated from God). That's why man must be born again because our spirit with the Holy Spirit is eternal....will never die. Believers have no fear of death knowing death does not mean cessation of life but is a transition to heaven as a living (spirit) soul.

This I think is where we have a difference.

Of course, agree God IS Spirit, and what comes forth out from Him, IS SPIRIT.
Consideration...the SEVEN Spirits of the LORD.
Consideration...SEVEN Spirits of the LORD, OF ONE SAME SPIRIT...the LORD.
Consideration...to WHAT and HOW God sends His SPIRIT.

* Mans seed...fertilizes...woman’s seed in Ovary. Called Conception.
* Woman’s...fertilized seed travels from Ovary, down Fallopian tube, to Uterus,
(Womb), Temporary Placenta surrounds the fertilized seed, Woman now called
Conceived in her womb..(pregnant).
* Body form-ing...by Gods Hand.
* Body form-ing...indirectly (placenta) dependent on mothers Life (BLOOD).
* Body form-ed...(9 months)
* Body Prepar-ed...to come forth from placenta in the womb.
* Body comes forth...called delivered.
* Umbilical (cord) attachment of Body to Placenta SEVERED.
(thereafter the placenta comes forth and is disposed of as waste)

* This is the moment...that Body’s Dependency ON “SOURCE” LIFE “CHANGES”.
* Life SOURCE of that BODY, changed FROM dependency ON mothers Life (BLOOD), to God LIFE (SOUL)

* The SOUL (vessel)...BELONGS TO God.
* The EXPRESS LIFE IN the SOUL (vessel)...BELONGS TO God.
* The EXPRESS LIFE IN the SOUL (vessel)...IS called Gods BREATH.
* BY the POWER of God (whom we have learned is called Christ).
* God BLOWS INTO that Form-ed, Deliver-ed, Sever-ed BODY...
His SOUL, with His BREATH
(of Life)

* AND WHAT specifically happens?
** Form-ed Mouth...utters sound.
** Form-ed Eyes......see
** Form-ed Nose.....smells, breaths oxygen
** Form-ed Tongue..tastes
** Form-ed Flesh.....feels touch

* WHAT specifically happened IS...VIA Gods SOUL (vessel), VIA Gods BREATH (Life)...THAT Form-ED BODY, CAN FUNCTION...COMMUNICATE.

* From a newborn babe, to the day that mortal body dies, the (SENSES), uttering sounds, seeing, smelling, tasting, touching....COMMUNICATES its comforts, its distress.

* Yes...That LIFE SOURCE vessel (SOUL) IS Gods.
* Yes...That LIFE (Gods BREATH) in the vessel (SOUL) IS Gods.
* Yes...The NAME given THAT vessel (SOUL)...IS a NAME chosen BY the Parents of that Babes BODY.
IOW....That BODY and That SOUL...shall BE CALLED, BY the SAME NAME...
The Parents CHOOSE.

* That “babe, child, adult”.... can absolutely speak in “possessive terms” ...
My body, My soul....and absolutely others can speak of another’s “body and soul” in “possessive terms”....his body, his soul.

* However the Fact Remains...the SOUL and Gods BREATH in the SOUL...
Belongs TO God.

Continued... @rwb

*** AS...God PUT His SOUL, His Breath INTO the SOUL, and INTO a BODY.
*** SO ALSO ...can God REMOVE, His SOUL with His BREATH (Life)...
OUT OF A BODY.

*** AND...Knowing...Every single (mortal, earthly) BODY, is appointed to mortally DIE, shall Die, will Die....

*** God DOES NOT...Leave His SOUL (vessel), with His LIFE (breath)...
IN A DEAD BODY.

*** Gods SOUL (vessel), with Gods LIFE (breath)...DEPARTS a DEAD BODY.
The Body shall begin to rot, stink, can be burned, buried in a grave, a tomb, a cave......or eaten by animals.
Those remaining ALIVE...bury the stinking dead body, in graves, (not hell).

*** AND WHAT does God DO with “HIS” soul, “HIS” life....that has DEPARTED a DEAD BODY, called by that body’s same NAME?

***
PRESENTLY...
(from the beginning of mans bodily Creation...TO THIS DAY).....EVERY single SOUL, with Gods LIFE...DEPARTED OUT of a DEAD BODY.....CONTINUES LIVING.

*** NOT ONE SOUL, (what was IN a mans BODY) has GOD removed His BREATH (OF LIFE ) FROM THAT SOUL.

*** ALL SOULS (that WERE IN men)...departed OUT of their (mortally dead) body’s, CONTINUE LIVING (via Gods BREATH)....and CONTINUE ... fully ABLE to...
Hear, See, Utter sound, Smell, Taste, Feel.

*** WHERE departed SOULS (with Gods Breath) of LIFE....IS NOT A MYSTERY.

*** SOME...ARE...IN HEAVEN...hearing, seeing, speaking, smelling, tasting,
feeling....the BEAUTY, PEACE, JOY “IN” Heaven.

*** SOME...ARE...IN HELL...hearing, seeing, speaking, smelling, tasting, feeling....the GLOOM, CHAOS, DURESS “IN” Hell.

Our difference IS...you have Gods BREATH of LIFE, causing an AFFECT and EFFECT on a “MANS SPIRIT”... from the moment of a mans natural bodily Birth...NOT SO.

Gods affects and effects on a “MANS BODY” at the moment of his natural bodily birth.....ONLY affects and effects...the mans bodily FUNCTIONS and SENSES.

The Affects and Effects of Gods BREATH (Life), IS Affected and Effected...
WITHOUT one iota of that Body’s CONSENT.

That BODY (man)...had ZERO say so, input, to be naturally Conceived, to be Delivered, to be naturally born, to be given a soul....

However...WHEN IT COMES TO THAT Body’s “SPIRIT”...

The “individual” (body/man)...ENTIRELY has the “SAY SO”.

God HAS established AN OFFERING to Every man, THAT ANY man Can Reach out and TAKE Gods Offering or NOT.

Gods OFFERING, expressly Concerns:
* The BODY of man. (Raised in glory or destroyed)
* The SOUL of man. (Restored and with God or destroyed and forgotten)
AND
* The SPIRIT of man. (Circumcised heart, Given Gods Spirit of Truth or remain mans natural heart, natural truth and mortally die with body, destroyed, forgotten).

Gods OFFERING requires a mans willing PAYMENT of A mans bodily LIFE, (Blood)....Given BY the man to ONLY the Lord God.

Gods OFFERING was EXPANDED, (from OT to NT)...VIA God Giving JESUS...
To MAKE the PAYMENT for ANY MAN, WHO...by his OWN WORD...OF his natural spirit in his heart...(not ONLY believes)....BUT CONFESSES (the act of the man giving “his” word)....of PROMISE to GIVE HIS BODY unto DEATH, EXPRESSLY Promising “his” OWN payment of “his” body’s LIFE (blood), unto DEATH, expressly for “his” testimony of Belief and Love of the Lord God Almighty.

THAT mans PROMISE...becomes IN EFFECT, the moment that man MAKES his promise, FROM the true thoughts of his “spirit in his heart”.
* And for any man who “thinks he can fool God, with a false, lying promise”...
* Newsflash...in as much as God Himself teaches for man to TEST all things, that they BE TRUE....whelp...so also does God do the SAME!
* When God HEARS a man, claiming to be CONFESSING from his spirit in his heart....God SEARCHES the mans spirit in the mans heart, TO KNOW if that mans WORD, IS TRUE...or not.

Point being...
God IS SPIRIT....God giving a man “HIS” SOUL (vessel), with “HIS” BREATH of Life.......has NOTHING whatsoever To do with God giving a man;
“HIS” SEED.
“HIS” SPIRIT of TRUTH,
“Birthing a mans NEW SPIRIT”.

Gods BREATH “In” a soul..means ONE thing.
Gods BREATH “upon” a man..means ONE thing.
Gods SPIRIT “upon” a man...means ONE thing.
Gods SPIRIT “In” a mans spirit...means ONE thing.

Gods BREATH....CAN come and go, FROM upon and in a man.
Gods SPIRIT.......CAN come and go, FROM upon a man.
Once Gods SPIRIT has ENTERED in a man...FOREVER God SHALL Never depart from that man. (Which also hangs the meaning of OSAS)...

Glory to God,

Good morning Robert.
Agree.

From natural birth?
..His Love Yes
..His wisdom “in” No.
..His power “in” No.
..His word “in” No.
..His WORD available to HEAR...Yes
..Man who chooses to Hear the Word..begins receiving the gift of FAITH..

Wisdom IN, Power IN, Word IN....a man’s PRIZE (so to speak), the Blessing, the Gift....of Gods Word, Wisdom, Power “IN” them...
AFTER a man has been Baptized WITH the Holy Spirit.

(Not a gift given simply because a man experienced a natural birth and received a soul.)

Yes...We ARE different than spirit beings...

Spirits beings ARE Spirits (Have Gods word, Have great power from God, Have a body).
Earthlings ARE body’s (Have Gods word available to Learn, Have minimal power from God, Have a natural, wavering spirit ie Truth).

Glory to God,

Adam and Eve were created with those qualities instantly, procreation gain them in development.

Adam and Eve had created bodys.
Adam and Eve had “Gods possessive soul and Gods breath” blown into them.

Neither ... IN the Garden received “Gods Spirit of Truth, IN THEM”...
Both received, Forgiveness of their flesh, (revealed by God Covering their flesh with animal skins...which by default we should know the animals blood/life was shed.)

How we KNOW, they were given the LORD SPIRIT of TRUTH “IN” them, when their mortal body’s died....?

Luke 3:
[38] Which was the son of Enos, which was the son of Seth, which was the son of Adam, which was the son of God.

It need not say...Adam AND Eve...because God Himself called the joined as husband and wife....the male and female....by the name ADAM.
(It was Adam who gave Eve her name.)

Adam was not called the son of God because God created him.
Adam (like all created human men) are called the son of God, WHEN God “quickens”...(Gods gives HIS SEED) and births a mans NEW spirit.

True they were created, and when God breathed into them the breath of life (ruach) they became a living soul, just like every breathing creature that He gave the breath of life to. That is what a soul is sir. There is nothing that goes on after death, but we humans have been given a sacrifice from God, and through that sacrifice, most of those dead will stand up again in the upcoming resurrection Taken. What a wonderful hope God has given us Jn 5:28,29.

Yes, as I have said.
He creates and makes.
Creates the body.
Makes the body alive.

The body is man, its blood is mans life.
The soul is Gods, Gods

There is nothing that goes on after death,

The body dies, knows nothing, rots, returns to dust.
The soul...it’s Gods...no it does not die with the body.
The breath in the soul....it’s Gods...no it does not die with the body.

The living soul, with Gods breath Departs a Dead body.
Saved? Escorted to heaven to WAIT in comfort with God.
UnSaved? Sent to hell to WAIT in duress without God.

Waiting....
For earthly mortal existence to END and return to their risen glorified body.

but we humans have been given a sacrifice from God, and through that sacrifice, most of those dead will stand up again in the upcoming resurrection Taken. What a wonderful hope God has given us Jn 5:28,29.

All have been given an Offering from God ...
Believe on the day your body dies, soul saved, spirit quickened when new body is raised.

All have been given an Offering from God through Christ Jesus...
Believe and give your body now unto death, crucified with Jesus;
* Body accounted dead NOW.
* Soul accounted saved NOW.
* Spirit accounted quickened NOW.
* Seed of God IN you NOW.
* Spirit of God IN you NOW.
* Called Converted IN Christ.

And WHEN, on any day, at any moment, Gods Great Tribulation is revealed from Heaven, via His Wrath, because of His Anger ...

All those who believed...(but did not become converted..(give their Body, crucified with Jesus)....shall have the option to give their body to physical death as “their” testimony of Belief....THEN soul saved.

All those who did NOT believe Before the Great Tribulation, have option to believe during (seals, trumps). They also will give their physical body unto death....THEN soul saved...

All those SOULS that become saved during the Great Trib. Are together escorted to Heaven.

All those Before and During the (seals, trumps) who did not believe, continue in disbelief...shall experience the (vials) of Gods Wrath and many also experience Gods Vengeance.

After the Trib, the Millennial reign, the End of all mortal life, the End of all demons presence on earth...

ALL saved souls that have not yet returned to their bodys....ALL saved and unsaved souls SHALL return to their body’s, their (old and new) bodys rise up, and SEE the Lord, Believe, Bow Down and Worship Him...

Then the Judgement. Evidence in Books...Gods Book of Life, the Lambs Book of Life....NO NAME?...breath of God returns to God...lifeless soul and lifeless body destroyed....
No matter about their spirit...(it was never born again.)

Blood life is REQUIRED to DIE once.
Gods Life never died.

When Jehovah created the human being to live on the planet, he first made a body with physical organs. He then made those physical organs function and then gave him a consciousness supported on the function of those organs that he had already created before.

Humans became living beings (Gen. 2:7) from the functioning of the organs of their created body. If the brain, for example, breaks down, you can no longer be a fully functional person. There is no person separate from our physical body... our body is an essential part of the person we are. Resurrection is bringing to life a person whose body has been damaged to the point that they no longer feel or are aware of themselves.

This way of understanding our physical reality is fully supported by the Scriptures.

Eccl. 9:4 There is hope for whoever is among the living, because a live dog is better off than a dead lion. 5 For the living know that they will die, but the dead know nothing at all, nor do they have any more reward, because all memory of them is forgotten. 6 Also, their love and their hate and their jealousy have already perished, and they no longer have any share in what is done under the sun.
7 Go, eat your food with rejoicing, and drink your wine with a cheerful heart, for already the true God has found pleasure in your works. 8 May your clothing always be white, and do not fail to put oil on your head. 9 Enjoy life with your beloved wife all the days of your futile life, which He has given you under the sun, all the days of your futility, for that is your lot in life and in your hard work at which you toil under the sun. 10 Whatever your hand finds to do, do with all your might, for there is no work nor planning nor knowledge nor wisdom in the Grave, where you are going.

Not actually sir, those secondary ones will be trained with the rest of us, and their life will depend on whether they side with satan after his release just like the ones who did good during this life. God is not that evil to resurrect one to just put them back to death. Those who received a judgement of gehenna during this life however, will not be resurrected.

I know in whom I have believed that He is able and willing to keep me alive even after my body succumbs to death. I know with great and blessed assurance that even in death I live! All of the dead bodies will be resurrected in the hour that is coming just as John 5:28-29 shows us. Those who have done good, resurrected immortal and incorruptible to life everlasting on the new earth, those who have done evil resurrected to damnation of the second death that is the lake of fire.

Yes, as I have said.
He creates and makes.
Creates the body.
Makes the body alive.

The body is man, its blood is mans life.
The soul is Gods, Gods

The body dies, knows nothing, rots, returns to dust.
The soul...it’s Gods...no it does not die with the body.
The breath in the soul....it’s Gods...no it does not die with the body.

The living soul, with Gods breath Departs a Dead body.
Saved? Escorted to heaven to WAIT in comfort with God.
UnSaved? Sent to hell to WAIT in duress without God.

Waiting....
For earthly mortal existence to END and return to their risen glorified body.

All have been given an Offering from God ...
Believe on the day your body dies, soul saved, spirit quickened when new body is raised.

All have been given an Offering from God through Christ Jesus...
Believe and give your body now unto death, crucified with Jesus;
* Body accounted dead NOW.
* Soul accounted saved NOW.
* Spirit accounted quickened NOW.
* Seed of God IN you NOW.
* Spirit of God IN you NOW.
* Called Converted IN Christ.

Wonder why Jesus had to die since we have immortal life anyway? Oh well, guess I am covered either way sir.

We mourn when a loved one dies, even Jesus gave way to tears, even though he knew he was going to bring his friend Lazarus back from death. Jesus in speaking about his death compared it to sleep with his apostles. A person who is in a deep sleep is not conscious of their surroundings, and those who have died are not conscious either, they do not feel pain, they do not feel lonely, and cannot interact with anything. Time comes to a standstill with them. Ecc 9:5 says of the dead: The dead know not any thing KJV.

The truth sets us free Jesus said, so how do we benefit from knowing the condition of the dead? Some cultures try to appease the dead thinking they can harm us, but we Christians are set free from that. Some religions teach that they are kept alive and might be undergoing torture, but again they simply are dead, not conscious of anything. Some believe you can communicate with the dead, but in reality if we successfully conjure up the dead, it is not those dead loved ones, rather demons, and Jehovah warns us about that Deut 18:10-12.

What is a real comfort to us that perhaps realize our time is close is that Romans 6:7 brings out that when we die we are acquitted of sin, and John 5:28, 29 points out that everyone who is in God's memory, and that includes all who have not sinned against the holy spirit, (another topic, but very few have this judgment) will be brought back to life in the resurrection. Another great point, even if a thousand years pass, to that individual it will be instantaneous, as they are no longer conscious of time either, just like waking up in the morning, only to a wonderful new world. Isn't this good news really a comfort?
There is nothing comforting about death.

Very similar words Rw.

Yes, they are very similar. That's why it's important to understand the difference. God breathed into man His Spirit breath, creating spiritual life where there was only a lump of clay. In the beginning the spirit in mankind lived through the Spirit of God in them. But then man disobeyed God, and from that moment the spirit in man became "dead in trespasses and sins", because the Spirit of God departed, making the spirit (life) in man of the flesh, natural man, no longer under the divine inspiration of the Spirit of God, but now under the influence of man's new master, Satan. For this reason, man must be born again. Spiritual re-birth where the Spirit of God in us is once again our Master, and through the Spirits Divine influence man is now once again able to have relationship with God, and the spirit within man endowed with the Holy Spirit can NEVER die.

Man is created with a physical body, with a spirit, and together becomes a complete living soul. Since our spirit indwelt with the Holy Spirit can never die, when our physical body dies, we go a spirit soul = living spirit soul (without body) to heaven to wait for the bodily resurrection and change, when man of faith will once again be made a complete; body + spirit = living soul.

No those who have done evil are resurrected to damnation, never again will they be a complete living soul. Those who have done good are resurrected in immortal incorruptible bodies of flesh, and reunited with our eternal spirit to be complete living soul once again, and they will live forever on the new earth.

Only those who have done good resurrected to immortal and incorruptible life again. If Christ had not given His life for the propitiation of sin, NO HUMAN would have immortal life. We would all be bodily resurrected to shame and damnation.

There is nothing comforting about death.
Hi Cady and Zoe. I would imagine that is because you are unaware of what death is. The Bible actually states the day of one's death is better than their birth Ecc 7:1. I know that sounds strange, but not to those who know what death is.

Likely you believe we are on the verge of the great tribulation, and realize that is going to be the most horrific time in history to be alive. Since the Bible points out that the dead know nothing, and that they will rise in the resurrection, to those who have died their resurrection will seem instantaneous. Can you imagine how great that will be? In what seems to be an instant, you will wake up in the Kingdom of God. We all, including you, have prayed for that Kingdom to come. It not only is the theme of the Bible, but the desire of every Christian to have their part in God's Kingdom.

Actually it is the same thing in this case Rw, Ps 146:4 shows when that breath of life goes out, we die. And that is referring to the life force, what was given Adam.

I am going to side with the Bible on this one sir, the dead know nothing, and their hope is the resurrection, at that point they will be brought back to life. satan said you would not die, Jehovah said you will, I side with Jehovah RW.
