There is one lie Satan seeks to convince this entire world with. This is the lie, that it's okay to commit sin. To Eve, he presented to her the "benefits" of knowledge if she ate from the tree in which God said she should not eat. God's law says, "Thou shalt not covet..." and "Thou shalt not steal.". Yet she coveted a knowledge that God was pleased to withhold from her, and stole fruit from a tree in which God said not to eat of. The results of the transgression of God's law (for that is what sin is, the transgression of God's law, and nothing is sin that does not transgress that law) are evident.

1 John 3:4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.

Exodus 20:15 Thou shalt not steal.

Exodus 20:17 Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's.

It's never okay to commit sin, under any circumstances. There is vain philosophy in this world that justifies the act of committing sin. And this is where Satan can get a foothold upon multiple Christians. If it's wrong to steal, it's wrong to steal all the time. And it is wrong to steal, whether you are rich, or whether you are poor. It's wrong to steal whether you are full, or whether you are poor. It's wrong to steal whether you are calm, or whether you are angry. It is wrong.

The same truth runs for each and every single commandment. Under any and all circumstances, it is wrong to commit murder, wrong to steal, wrong to commit adultery, wrong to worship idols, wrong to worship other gods, wrong to break the Sabbath, wrong to take God's name in vain, wrong to covet, wrong to dishounour our parents, wrong to lie. Sin is wrong, all the time.

Matthew 5:19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

James 2:10-12 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all. 11 For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law. 12 So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty.

Satan forms the same lie in different tongues, under different circumstances, to different classes of people. And those who expose that very lie, those who expose it, and keep God's law under any and all circumstances Satan is angry with.
Revelation 12:17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

The Bible is clear, if one does not speak according to the law, or the testimony, there is no light in them. And Satan speaks against the law & the testimony.

Isaiah 8:20 To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.

The law says, "Thou shalt not steal." Now if one comes to you and says, it's okay to steal, when you're starving, then they are a liar, and the truth is not in them. It's wrong to steal, under any and all circumstances. We stand upon a solid rock, not sand.

Malachi 3:6 For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.

You couldn't push Jesus to sin under any circumstances. Under any and all circumstances did Jesus live an obedient life. This is the wonderful beauty we are to emulate, the precious life of Christ. Jesus is that solid rock we stand, and build our houses upon. The philosophies of the world are sand. It's always wrong to commit sin. In one circumstance, many say it's okay for them to commit a wrong, in others not. But, if it's ever okay, where then is the line drawn? To different classes of people, Satan will move the line. Those he can push into committing wrongs without regard for anything, he will do so.

The only safety we have, is in relying upon the King of kings, and Lord of lords. His perfect life of sacrifice and obedience, this is our example. Perfection is what we strive for. We strive to be the beautiful example that Jesus would have us be to the world, to declare His power, declare His life, and declare His way. He is the way the truth, and the life. Let everything in heaven, in earth, and under the earth worship Him :) Amen.

Yet another SDA thread... and yet another strawman argument designed to justify your false theology.

The idea of course is that all other Christians, with the exemption of SDAs, are claiming that it is completely "OK to sin" and are therefore wallowing around in it as much as their hearts desire.

You guys never give up do you?

How convenient of you to believe such nonsense! Cast dung on the rest of Christianity so that you can all feel good about yourselves. But let's just wait and see if any defenders of the idea that it is OK to sin actually come into this thread and make such an idiotic claim.

Any takers?

It's the same kind of arguments that the Jews used for the purpose of attacking Paul's theology and making it appear as though he was promoting sin. I can sense the frustration he felt when he wrote the following:

"Why not say--as we are being slanderously reported as saying and as some claim that we say--"Let us do evil that good may result"?

Their condemnation is deserved." (Romans 3:8)

Why don't you guys just wake up for once and stop being so easily deceived!

No one in their right minds would be trying to say that it is OK to sin. And yet you all sit there in your wooden pews gleefully nodding your heads at each other when your preachers convince you that we are.

What we ARE saying (please get it right for once) is that we have a sinful nature that does not allow us to keep the perfect standard of righteousness that God desires, and therefore have a saviour. Twist that into an accusation that we are saying that it is OK to sin if you like, but as far as scripture is concerned - your condemnation is deserved!

History repeats itself...

One question there dgenisis 1:29 does the law of faith supercede the ten commandments, or is the law of faith under the ten commandments? Which by the way are a covenant an agreement between the children of Israel and the Lord God of Israel, Israel meaning Jacob. And there was no covenant of the ten commandments in the garden, was there? So your wrong already, because God makes covenants (agreements between Himself and man) God made the man and then set the man in the garden. And told him what he could and couldn’t do. It was an agreement, to stay in the garden in peace and in the Presence of God with access to the Tree of Life that would give eternal Life. So the agreement given during Moses’ time doesn’t even apply. You can’t be bond to what you haven’t agreed to. Unless you are imprisoned or enslaved by force, which wouldn’t be a moral issue.

What happened was the serpent invited them to decide what is good for themselves in their own judgement after already agreeing to be in the garden. And the result was sin (as in separation from the true Presence of God.) Guilt and condemnation according to their own judgement (meaning Adam and Eve’s own judgement) not the condemnation of God, but by the serpent judging God, and they agreed. Which would as Jesus described Satan’s demise, cast you out of God’s sight like a bolt of lightening. And in their own judgment condemning God’s judgement of what was good for them. Even though they may not have spoke it, they agreed to what the serpent said by eating the fruit of the tree. Killing them from the life God originally gave them, and let them in His Mercy retain the condemned life of dust to dust and ashes to ashes.

Good article..The world's brand of "christianity" has distanced itself from the word of God, and the teachings of Jesus...
I agree,

Most churches don't pay much attention to what Jesus teaches. They study what men teaches, like John Calvin and many others.

And Jesus did not teach it is ok to sin. He emphasized to be faithful to Him until the end.
