So then you're telling me that Job was equal to Jesus?
No, Job wasn't perfect. He still had an ego.
I did this I did that... Jesus never put himself first it was always the Father.
Job would be more like Enoch or Noah. He walked with God.
But I think there may be some lip service as well.
Job is a hard one. He is going through a struggle.. (there's that word again.. oh oh)
And there is a war raging inside him.
His friends aren't helping.
They're good at pointing out his faults and showing him where he falls short.
But they don't have the answers. Because they haven't even begun the good fight.
Only when the last and youngest speaks does he open Job's mind to understand he isn't perfect.
And it all comes back to the law.
Job kept the law every day, he gave sacrifices, he prayed for his family, he did what the good book said.
However it was things he did as an outward obedience rather than a heartfelt desire.
You shouldn't help someone because the Bible tells you so. You should do it because it's the right thing to do.
And I think that's where Job fell short. Maybe he was a hypocrite.. no, I think he did what he was told,
by works and not by faith.
Now Jesus, he didn't just walk with God. God was using his heart and mind and body to do and show what we all should be doing.
I asked you, please take care of my garden and look what you did..
there's all these weeds and thistles and thorns.. What happened!!??
Well Lord, a couple things. First the enemy came in and planted stuff where I was planting and he messed up my crops.
My fruit went sour, He even spiked the water with some bitter wormwood... kinda like Flint MI water? yeah like that.
And he got stronger and I got weaker and finally I gave up
God says, here, let's take out that garden (your heart) and start over. We'll plant some new seeds that grow good crops and good fruit.
We'll clean the water (mind) and make it freah and clean and you won't ever be thirsty again.
And I'll take your garden and put it my Garden and we'll watch it grow together
And so Job ended up with so much more and better than when he first began.
Job... he's a tough one.
