Biden unveils coronavirus response plan, blasts Trump administration
Biden unveils coronavirus response plan, blasts Trump administration

As you just learned, he fired them.

When did that happen?

He did:
The Trump administration fired the U.S. pandemic response team in 2018 to cut costs.
Rating: True

Rear Adm. Timothy Ziemer abruptly departed from his post leading the global health security team on the National Security Council in May 2018 amid a reorganization of the council by then-National Security Advisor John Bolton, and Ziemer’s team was disbanded. Tom Bossert, whom the Washington Post reported “had called for a comprehensive biodefense strategy against pandemics and biological attacks,” had been fired one month prior.

It’s thus true that the Trump administration axed the executive branch team responsible for coordinating a response to a pandemic and did not replace it, eliminating Ziemer’s position and reassigning others, although Bolton was the executive at the top of the National Security Council chain of command at the time.

Legum stated in a follow-up tweet that “Trump also cut funding for the CDC, forcing the CDC to cancel its efforts to help countries prevent infectious-disease threats from becoming epidemics in 39 of 49 countries in 2018. Among the countries abandoned? China.” That was partly true, according to 2018 news reports stating that funding for the CDC’s global disease outbreak prevention efforts had been reduced by 80%, including funding for the agency’s efforts in China.
Did Trump Administration Fire the US Pandemic Response Team?

One-hundred and sixty thousand dead Americans does get attention, yes. How do you think Trump should have hidden that?

Yes, he never takes responsibility for anything he bungles. He actually blamed Obama for not having COVID-19 tests ready even though this virus didn't exist on Obama's watch. Many other nations quickly got tests up and running. Trump had no idea how to handle that, because he fired the people who did know how.

He defied the experts. If he had listened to them, at least 35,000 Americans would still be alive:

Lockdown Delays Cost at Least 36,000 Lives, Data Show
Even small differences in timing would have prevented the worst exponential growth, which by April had subsumed New York City, New Orleans and other major cities, researchers found.
Lockdown Delays Cost at Least 36,000 Lives, Data Show

Well, let's take a look...
“Banning all travel from Europe or any other part of the world may slow it, but as we’ve seen it will not stop it,” Mr. Biden said.
Biden unveils coronavirus response plan, blasts Trump administration

So that was a lie, too. Epidemiologists weren't opposed to the travel ban; they merely told Trump that it wasn't going to be enough. But of course, Trump wouldn't listen, and tens of thousands of Americans died because of his incompetence. There is much more, but I don't suppose it matters to you.

That's the problem. He can't get it into his head that he isn't. So he issues one impotent ukase after another, to no effect. He's supposed to be a leader.

And he has no idea how to do that.

I suggest you re-read posts 443 and 445. They outline the lies and the misinformation out out by the Democrats and the media. Trump did not disband the team. He changed the make up of the team. It was still there under a different office. It wasn't gone like the Dems would have you believe.

Biden plagiarized some of what Trump was already doing. Please read the articles. I read yours.

Trump was heavily criticized by the media and Democrats for the travel ban. Have you forgotten? Now Biden agreed that bans wouldn't stop it. Trump was ALREADY doing what Biden said he would do. Read the articles.

So you criticize Trump for acting like a dictator and the turn around and say he should have acted like a dictator? What kind of not nonsense is that? Trump is not a dictator. He can't lock down the country. Each state is responsible for that. That's how our country works. Some did some didn't. Each state government is responsible for their own state. Trump doesn't have the authority to shut down the entire nation.

He did. That's why, when the pandemic hit, we had no effective response; Trump fired the pandemic team to save money.

Legum outlined a series of cost-cutting decisions made by the Trump administration in preceding years that had gutted the nation’s infectious disease defense infrastructure. The “pandemic response team” firing claim referred to news accounts from Spring 2018 reporting that White House officials tasked with directing a national response to a pandemic had been ousted.

Rear Adm. Timothy Ziemer abruptly departed from his post leading the global health security team on the National Security Council in May 2018 amid a reorganization of the council by then-National Security Advisor John Bolton, and Ziemer’s team was disbanded. Nope got his program from real doctors and epidemiologists, not like Trump's advisor:

Trump’s New COVID Doctor Claims Demon Sperm Is Responsible For Disease

President Donald Trump went on a late night Twitter binge on Monday with more than a dozen posts pushing dubious claims about the drug hydroxychloroquine, including twice retweeting a video from a woman falsely claiming that the drug was a “cure” for Covid-19 and that “you don’t need a mask.”

Two of Trump’s Monday night tweets focused on Stella Immanuel, who had appeared outside Capitol Hill on Friday with a several other doctors to make a series of outlandish claims while dismissing other “fake doctors” who doubt the efficacy of the drug as well as the idea of double blind clinical studies to scientifically test medical treatments.

The woman making the false claims is Dr. Stella Immanuel, a pediatrician and a religious minister. The Daily Beast reports:

Dr. Stella Immanuel, a pediatrician and a religious minister, has a history of making bizarre claims about medical topics and other issues. She has often claimed that gynecological problems like cysts and endometriosis are in fact caused by people having sex in their dreams with demons and witches.

She alleges alien DNA is currently used in medical treatments, and that scientists are cooking up a vaccine to prevent people from being religious. And, despite appearing in Washington, D.C. to lobby Congress on Monday, she has said that the government is run in part not by humans but by “reptilians” and other aliens.

In short, Trump, the supposed leader of the free world, has abandoned science and is taking medical advice from a charlatan who claims disease is caused by having sex with demons, that alien DNA is being used in medical treatments, that scientists are creating a vaccine to stop people from being religious, and that the U.S. government is being run in part by lizard people.

Wow.

Bottom line: Trump’s new favorite COVID doctor claims demon sperm causes disease, and that “you don’t need a mask” because she can “cure” coronavirus with the discredited drug hydroxychloroquine.

Trump was heavily criticized by the media and Democrats for the travel ban. Have you forgotten?

I'm pointing out that Biden said that it would slow the pandemic. He correctly pointed out that it wouldn't stop it, but he agreed that it was a necessary step. Last time I looked, Biden was a democrat.

(notice that Trump tried to act like a dictator, when he should have been a leader)

So you criticize Trump for acting like a dictator and the turn around and say he should have acted like a dictator?

If you confuse "dictator" and "leader", we've found the problem.

Trump is not a dictator.

He just plays one on TV.

Each state government is responsible for their own state.

Notice how Florida and Texas are doing, having complied with Trump's botched plans.

His own people turned him in. His appointed ambassador said there was a quid pro quo. No point in denying the fact.

So it comes down to "does an attempted crime amount to a crime?"

Yes. Yes, it does.

Are you forgetting what the house actually requested impeachment for and what he was found not guilty for?
Donald Trump Impeachment: Why It Failed | National Review

His impeament was focused on Ukraine. Yet they couldn't come up with enough evidence to charge him with that. So they went with the lamest most generic thing they could come up with. Something that's not even a crime. Abuse of Power. That's it? So they never convicted him for Ukraine.

Mueller failed, the Impeachment failed. The Steele Dossier is now understood to be junk. It's now known the FBI deceived the FISA courts. If it wasn't for COVID the Dems would have no chance this November.

Well there you go not being honest again. He didn't fire the team. He got it reorganized. But that doesn't matter to you. You just continue to be dishonest about it. Against twisting what actually happened. Making it sound like there was no one around for a pandemic response. Utterly false. Even in your links it states what really happened. A reorganization occurred not a disbandment. A team to handle this was still in place.

Unless "junk" means "everything checked out so far, has been true", you're wrong. I notice you declined my request to support your claim:

Closed down....fired....shutdown the office. Obama planning and Obama execution. The team was a scam, a farce. The people were incompetent and dishonest, being perfectly fine with collecting a paycheck but running a front that only looked like a pandemic team. Neither them nor Obama had any plans on being prepared. All words no supplies, and no personnel.

Too busy funneling off money for illegal Aliens and abortion clinics.

Normally, I don't do bunny trails, but these you've started for us are pretty useful ones...

Joe Biden is a serial Pedophile,

You think it was Biden who was sued by a 13-YO girl for molesting her? No, wait, it was Donald Trump. Would you like to see that?

You think it was Biden who said about his pedophile buddy, Jeffery Epstein:
‘I’ve known Jeff for fifteen years. Terrific guy. He’s a lot of fun to be with. It is even said that he likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side.’ -

No, wait, it was Donald Trump, 2002” The quote is from a 2002 New York Magazine profile of Epstein.

You think it was Biden who wished pedophile Ghislaine Maxwell well? No wait, it was Donald Trump:
'I wish her well': Trump's shocking support for Ghislaine Maxwell
We all saw it happen, but it remains hard to believe. When asked during a White House press briefing Tuesday about the federal prosecution of Ghislaine Maxwell for her alleged role in recruiting, grooming and sexually abusing underage girls, President Donald Trump responded, "I just wish her well, frankly."

'I wish her well': Trump's shocking support for Ghislaine Maxwell (opinion) - CNN

Some would argue that he's just pandering to his base. But I think it's what he really feels.

Extortionist,

Well, let's take a look...
Trump Used the Coronavirus to Extort Governors Like Ukraine.
Trump presented his terms to the governors even more brazenly than to Volodymyr Zelensky. Indeed, the dialogue in a mob movie is usually more subtle. Several weeks ago, Slate’s Will Saletan catalogued the president’s long and undisguised stream of messages to the governors. In short, Trump was explicit that he demands governors be “appreciative” of him, that he closely monitors their comments about him (“I guess they assume I don’t watch them. But I watch very closely”), that he views his cooperation with their states as transactional (“It’s a two-way street. They have to treat us well also”), and that he recognizes their dependence on his generosity (they “need so much” from him).
Trump Used the Coronavirus to Extort Governors Like Ukraine. It Worked.

and a Racist...

Until Donald Trump's comments about the ethnicity of Judge Gonzalo Curiel, the judge overseeing the fraud case against Trump University in San Diego, Curiel was anything but a household name.

Then Trump began calling Curiel a "hater" who was being unfair to him because the judge is "Hispanic," because he is "Mexican" and because Trump is building a wall.
Who Is Judge Gonzalo Curiel, The Man Trump Attacked For His Mexican Ancestry?

“ And isn’t it funny, I’ve got Black accountants at the Trump Castle and at Trump Plaza. Black guys counting my money! I hate it. The only kind of people I want counting my money are short guys that wear yarmulkes every day. Those are the kind of people I want counting my money. No one else.”

Trump allegedly added, “Besides that, I’ve got to tell you something else. I think that the guy is lazy. And it’s probably not his fault because laziness is a trait in Blacks. It really is, I believe that. It’s not something they can control. … Don’t you agree?”

In a 1997 interview with Playboy, Trump acknowledged O’Donnell’s book was “probably true.”

This probably didn't work out the way you hoped. Next time, think.

no one have ever been able to disprove anything we see in video.

No one has been able to disprove the allegation that Trump engaged in some really disgusting sexual games with prostitutes in Moscow. So we should assume that's correct?

Meantime, you were going to support your original claim that the Steele Dossier is "junk." When do you think you'll be able to do that?

So far, no one has been able to disprove anything in the Steele dossier, and those things that have been determined, support the allegations in that document. Would you like me to show you?

I'm afraid you are incorrect again. Let me show you.

The special counsel’s report debunked the claim about Cohen, saying that he did not visit Prague. It also said that no Trump associates conspired with Russia or helped release emails through WikiLeaks.
The inspector general criticized the FBI for withholding information it received from Danchenko that undermined the dossier.

The report said that the FBI characterized Danchenko as appearing to be reliable and truthful, but failed to disclose that his information raised doubts about the dossier.

Russia Analyst Identified as Source of Debunked Steele Dossier

Steele in his report said the story had been “confirmed” by senior, Western hotel staff, but the actual source said it was all “rumor and speculation,” never confirmed. In fact, charged by Steele to find corroboration, the source could not: corroboration was “zero,” writes Horowitz.

Meanwhile the Steele assertions that Russians had a kompromat file on Hillary Clinton, and that there was a “well-developed conspiracy of coordination” between the Trump campaign and Russians, relied on a source Steele himself disparaged as an “egoist” and “boaster” who “may engage in some embellishment.” This was known to the FBI at the start, yet they naturally failed to include this info in the warrant application, one of what Horowitz described as “17 significant errors or omissions”

‘Corroboration Zero’: An Inspector General’s Report Reveals the Steele Dossier Was Always a Joke
The report throws water on one “deep state” conspiracy theory of the Russia investigation, but validates complaints about “fake news
Steele in his “reports” embellished his sources’ quotes, played up nonexistent angles, invented attributions, and ignored inconsistencies. The FBI then transplanted this bad reporting in the form of a warrant application and an addendum to the Intelligence Assessment that included the Steele material, ignoring a new layer of inconsistencies and red flags its analysts uncovered in the review process.
'Corroboration Zero': An Inspector General's Report Reveals the Steele Dossier Was Always a Joke

The Times begrudgingly admits late in the story that “[t]he Steele dossier was deeply flawed,” and that “Danchenko’s statements to the F.B.I. contradicted parts of the dossier, suggesting that Mr. Steele may have exaggerated the soundness of other allegations, making what Mr. Danchenko portrayed as rumor and speculation sound more solid.”

It’s a remarkably dry way to describe the seriousness of the wrongdoing.

Media Silent As Christopher Steele 'Hero' 'Spymaster' Narrative Crumbles

What have we learned from the release of these two documents by the Department of Justice? Number one, it is clear to me that the memo regarding the FBI interview of the primary sub-source in January 2017 should have required the system to stop and reevaluate the case against Mr. Page,” Graham said. “Most importantly after this interview of the sub-source and the subsequent memo detailing the contents of the interview, it was a miscarriage of justice for the FBI and the Department of Justice to continue to seek a FISA warrant against Carter Page in April and June of 2017.”

Yes, that crime was the first article of impeachment.

No, you're wrong. That's the first thing on which he was impeached.

Actually, the second crime for which he was impeached was obstruction.

Mueller nailed a good number of criminals who worked for Trump. And he got enough fines to pay for his investigation. He documented several cases of Trump attempting to obstruct the investigation, although he did follow the DOJ guidelines that said he could not indict a sitting president. Those crimes will have to be adjudicated when Trump leaves office.

Mueller very clearly stated that his report does not clear Trump of any crimes.

So far, no one has been able to disprove anything in the dossier, and those things that have been determined, support the allegation in that document. Would you like me to show you?

And yes, Trump finally got a real crisis, and yes, he blew it. And the tens of thousands of Americans who died because of his incompetence will likely be on the minds of voters in the fall.

Mueller also does not accuse Trump of any crimes. Thus you cannot be cleared of a crime you are not accused of.

Trump was not impeached for any actual crime. Sorry. Made up charges. A lame charge for which he was found not guilty.

The special counsel’s report debunked the claim about Cohen, saying that he did not visit Prague. It also said that no Trump associates conspired with Russia or helped release emails through WikiLeaks.

Turns out, they did.
Trump associate Roger Stone has been linked to Assange
Trump adviser and longtime confidant Roger Stone has been scrutinized for his links to Assange.
Stone claimed in an interview last August that he had communicated with the WikiLeaks chief, though he later clarified it was done through an “intermediary.” WikiLeaks has denied communicating with Stone.

Stone also raised questions with several posts on Twitter last year in which he appeared to hint at email releases from WikiLeaks before they went public.

He tweeted on Aug. 21, 2016, “Trust me, it will soon the Podesta’s time in the barrel. #CrookedHillary.”

In early October, Stone also sent out a series of tweets saying “@HillaryClinton is done” and expressing his “total confidence that @wikileaks and my hero Julian Assange will educate the American people soon. #LockHerUp.” Those messages came days before WikiLeaks began publishing the hacked Podesta emails on Oct. 7.

The revelation this week that Donald Trump Jr. corresponded with WikiLeaks during the presidential campaign has added a new wrinkle to the competing probes into Russian interference.

Legal experts say the development is likely to intensify scrutiny of Trump’s eldest son, who is already under the microscope for a controversial June 2016 meeting at Trump Tower with a Russian lawyer.

Separately, a pair of senators revealed Thursday that Trump’s senior adviser and son-in-law, Jared Kushner, had received correspondence about WikiLeaks prior to the election. They said Kushner has not yet turned over those documents to congressional investigators.
Trump and WikiLeaks: Five things to know

So that, too was verified. But that's not why Trump became the third U.S. president to be impeached for crimes in office. It was for his attempt to extort help from Ukraine to get dirt on Biden, and for his attempts to obstruct the investigation.

Mueller also does not accuse Trump of any crimes. Thus you cannot be cleared of a crime you are not accused of.

Mueller also does not accuse Trump of any crimes.

He documented several cases wherein Trump tried to obstruct his investigation. He merely declined to indict Trump, since the DOJ ordered that a sitting president cannot be indicted. Which is why Mueller added that his investigation did not clear Trump of criminal liability.

Thus you cannot be cleared of a crime you are not accused of.

Of course you can. Grand juries do that routinely.

Trump was not impeached for any actual crime.

Each crime was documented, with witnesses. No point in denial. He can be indicted for attempted obstruction, after he leaves office. But the feds will have to get in line; several states seem to be ready to take him first.

Might be a rough October for Donald Trump:

No sooner had the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in July of this year that the President of the United States is not above the law and can indeed be investigated, than Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance raced into action.

Facing opposition from Trump's lawyers in court on the grounds that his demand for Trump Organization financial records from the accounting firm Mazars USA are frivolous, Vance has made a dramatic counter move.

First, he indicated to the court that he is seeking eight years of financial records that are critical to his investigation of "alleged insurance and bank fraud."
...
Second, the New York Times reports that Vance's request to the court is probably supported by information on Trump Organization finances that he has already obtained from Trump's sole bank lender, Deutsche Bank.

The New York Times story noted:

Over a period of months last year, it provided Mr. Vance's office with detailed records, including financial statements and other materials that Mr. Trump had provided to the bank as he sought loans, according to two of the people familiar with the inquiry.

Trump's lawyers will do all they can to delay court decisions in New York, especially to prevent any progress before the election.

But judges have long dealt with Trump's many court dealings and they may have no sympathy with him now. The same judges, after all, disagreed with the arguments made by Trump's lawyers before his case was shot-down by the Supreme Court.

Moreover, delaying tactics by Trump's lawyers could backfire. If they continue to declare that Vance is just on a vague fishing expedition in seeking Trump's tax records, then Vance could file a detailed brief to the courts — which might be made public.
